MDE App Update & Recent “Refresh” Changes Discussion (we’re not doomed!)

Just a related question...those of you that can try from home have AP's, correct? When I go to try to mess with fp+ it wants me to link tickets and I have them listed but they are dated tickets for sept... so I'm assuming that's why I can't do anything?

Yes, I have an AP, though I have not tested the new updated mde. Grabbing a fastpass for 1 person is never a problem, so I hesitate to say it is back to normal.

Correct, I am an AP holder who is 64 days out from next trip. Once I book for those 7 days, I’ll be shut out from checking.

That's the situation I am in, 7 days all booked. It was killing me yesterday that I couldn't help research this doomsday situation! Thankfully all of you kept me updated.

I have an AP with an upcoming on site stay. It never occurred to me I would be locked out of checking, but I have just 6 days booked so I have 1 day to play with.

Now my last land mine to dodge is the park hours for May. I navigated around all the EMMs, the DAHs and the EMHs; we are non smokers and have no strollers ... and now an app update gone mad. Please Disney, no more

Definitely seeing a slow down at least using the website now that parks are open and more people using it. That said, at least it seems to be working and I did finally see a FOP that I could confirm with no issues.

Yeah, it appears they rolled back whatever was done. It seems slower, isn't showing all available inventory, but is reserving FPs.

I think we can get used to either system, but this one is less stressful, so I hope this current (the old) version stays!

We're gearing up for our 3rd visit to the World this May and we've never used the refresh method, but I'd rather never see a FOP fastpass pop up than see it pop up over and over and never be able to book it. Looking forward to seeing how much we can accomplish in a few weeks!

So I guess the bottom line is; don't update MDE right away, wait a week and see what happens? And look for a thread first!

FWIW, we're arriving in 4 weeks. Have a Splash FP booked for our first morning. Was able to modify it to a new time the very first time I tried. Modified it back to original time the first time I tried also.

I understand this isn't 'day of' FPs but hopefully they're working on things?

I haven't had time to read through this whole thread but yet but out of curiosity I booked a 10:55pm Space FP and was able to modify it to 2:55pm. I'm using the old version of the app. Should I keep it or should I update?

I played around last night and I don't have an AP. My 60 day window opens Wednesday. I'm told I'm experiencing a glitch that let's me look at my 30 day window and play with FPs in testing.

Just to be clear, they updated the whole system it wasn't just the ap update that did it. The website was doing the same thing, and those of us on android didn't get an ap update and it was impacting all platforms.

I've played around with it and it does load slower again, but what you see is now what you get for the large majority of FP's. I've messed with FoP, SDD, and the modify function and it's all still working thus far.

Another update: I was able to get TSM, SDD, FoP and Navi today, even with pausing as though I was asking my party if I should book it or not.

ETA: I have continued all my testing in private tab on Safari. No difference in speed for me

You need to press the plus button on the bottom for it to pop up...

I have been trying to modify some FP+ I made for beginning of June. I have tried both the app and the website and as soon as I try to confirm the update I get a message that the request cannot be completed at this time. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it. Still no luck. Any ideas?

One of the many things I've learned from this thread is to grab a FP for any available time and then try to modify it to an earlier time. I've done a lot of refreshing while at the parks but hadn't tried that particular method. Will give it a try on our trip later this month!
