My family is flying from Saint John to TO then to Orlando MCO. I only have one and a half hours in To. Is this enough time? How and where do i get our luggage and what about customs?

I hear the MCO is easy to get around in. We are stayimg at the Hyatt the first night. I hope it is easy to get to since we are arriving at 11:30 PM

Thanks for any help,

I you are flying on the same airline all the way through then the luggage will just continue and you really should have no problems with 1 1/2 hours so long as there are no weather delays on your end of things. Your departure gate in Toronto airport will be in the same general area as your arrival if it is the same airline so getting from one to the other should not be a problem either, just go directly there and then relax, not vice versa! Are you staying at the Hyatt that is part of the MCO terminal? I hae always wanted to, it looks so neat! Have fun. :sunny:

What airline are you flying? If it's Air Canada... and there is any type of a delay (either with weather or clearing customs/immigration in Toronto if you don't in NB), then they will usually get you another flight to MCO with a "partner" airline.

In 2001 we had really bad weather leaving Halifax and did not make it in time for our Air Canada connector in Toronto (just missed it). When we were still in the air they told us that we would not make the connection and they would make other arrangements for us. They let us off the plane first when we landed, an airline rep was waiting for us with new tickets, they escorted us through customs/immigration (good thing because they forgot to put "infant in arms" on one of the new tickets) and then rushed us off to an awaiting Delta flight.

The only bump this caused was that we had to fly through Atlanta and make another connection... which added about 2 extra hours total to our trip.

Oops... I was rambling... I guess what I should say is... don't worry... they have your flight schedule... and once you're on your first leg of the trip... they are usually pretty good at taking care of you. :goodvibes

1. Tell your flight attendant on your YSJ-YYZ flight that you are connecting.
2. When you arrive in YYZ, you have to collect your checked bags (even though they are checked all the way through) and go through Customs.
***********If there is a LONG line at customs, and your flight is within 45-30 minutes away, got to the front part of the line, and tell the airport agent that you are on the ACflight to MCO. They will direct you through**********
3. Once through Customs, you have to drop your bags on the belt again, and then go through Security again. Again, tell the agents there at the belt that you are on the MCO departing in ???minutes, they will get you through the Priority line.
4. The gate is usually C, which is right around the corner from Security, but it could also be H or J...these gates are right down the hall, just past the deli/grill area.

Just don't be afraid to ask for help WHENEVER you see someone in a uniform....even if you are delayed out of YSJ, you can still make your flight.

As MinnieMommy said, AC is pretty good about getting you there, as soon as they can. Just remember to be flexible if you can:)

The Hyatt at MCO airport is right there, no need fora taxi, or anything, Just follow the signs to the evelvators.

HTH! and have fun!!

Thank You everyone for all the great info. I guess the best advice is do not be afraid to tell somone you need help because of time restraint.

THANKS Again

What Mbb said is correct. We had a 3 hour lay-over in TO and it took 2 hours to get through all the line-ups at Customs, what a to-do. You also have to transfer from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 in that time. Whenever you hit a line-up, make sure you tell someone that your connecting at such and such a time and you should be fine. The air canada site explains exactly how to make the transfers, the signs are great.

You don't say which airline you are flying with. If it is Air Canada, you shouldn't have a problem. You will have to take the monorail to the main area. Luggage is downstairs. On your way to the elevator to collect your luggage, you will see a busy area with Disney stores, souvenier shops etc. There is an aisle with the food court and more shops, and that is where you go to the Hyatt. There are moving sidewalks, which will take you pretty much to the Hyatt. Also, there are overhead signs, and I'm sure you won't get lost. The only thing is, you will have to go downstairs, collect your luggage, and go back upstairs to get to your hotel. We stayed at the Hyatt for 2 nights, and it is a very nice hotel. Our balcony opened up to the inside of the airport, and I found that part wasn't relaxing. However, when I closed the balcony doors, and drapes, I couldn't hear the security announcements, so I was O.K.

It will take all of your 1.5 hours. Last month we had two hours to connect, and we didnt have any time to spare. At one time it seemed like two hours was plenty but not anymore. (but I cant complain as I appreciate the extra security)

Have a awesome trip :cheer2:
