We're taking our very first cruise on February. Coming from New England we will be flying in the day before our cruise. We're thinking of staying the night in Cocoa Beach to get to the ship nice & early for our boarding time.
What do you all usually do to get from MCO to the Port Canaveral area when Disney transportation isn't an option. Taxi? Uber? Lyft? Private car?
There is just the two of us.

We have rented a car and returned it the morning of the cruise. That has worked well for us. We are a family of 5.

I initially thought of that. Then I googlemapped the route. As a driver, I have a severe bridge phobia. Just looking at the map made me dizzy. I don't want to start our trip with an anxiety attack of that level.

Have you checked to see if your hotel has a shuttle from the airport?

We're planning on using Access Line Transportation. We can hire an SUV for our seven person party for $245 round trip. That comes out to $35/pp + gratuity. I think you can hire a town car for up to four people for $195 round trip. There is probably a cheaper way to get there for two people, but it is an option...

Is the second person in your party an adult? Can he or she drive?

Definitely don't take a bus because you'll be up that much higher.

I'd do a towncar with a driver, and just distract yourself during the drive.

There's 2 pretty good size bridges you go over as you approach the port.

Any thoughts on Comfort Inn Cocoa Beach. They have a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel and then from the hotel to the cruise terminal. (They also bring you back to the airport after your cruise. I do not need that, so I need to call them to see if one way airport transportation is cheaper.)

I am okay with bridges as a passenger. We take a bus to NYC all the time and I am fine. Hubby is the second person in my party. He refuses to get his driver's license.
