Pretty bad. I was with my mother and did not use my Clear access.

Waited over half an hour to get our ID checked. The situation was made worse by a "new employee" checking ID while her "trainers" gossiped and talked with each other. I spoke to them about the delay and they informed me "she's new" I suggested they HELP her and the girl got in my face and suggested I could be a threat requiring extra screening... I had been very polite and had not raised my voice, I had quietly asked why this was taking so long... I looked at her and said "Call your supervisor NOW" She then claimed she was kidding.... My mom piped up "didn't sound like you were kidding" After some additional discussion the "supervisor" was summoned. (The poor new girl was still completely confused and had NO HELP!!!!! People were yelling at her and I felt sorry for her as I explained to the supervisor) The person who claimed I was a "threat" then backpedaled "I didn't say that" Once again my mom piped up "Yes she did" I volunteered to be a full search as I had nothing to hide, but that I didn't think that our security was enhanced by the ID checkers ABUSING their power. The supervisor did agree, but I will be writing a formal compalint.

There was no excuse for the mess today, once you got past ID check the lines were non exisitent. The ID checkers however were spending more time talking to each other then checking IDs!!!!

Good for you!!!!! They 'think' they have all this power and it goes to their heads sometimes. No wonder the 'little people' (you and me) are afraid of them. Man!!! I have to say, after using Tampa Intnl last month, I might try to fly in there and drive to WDW in the future!!! A nice, friendly airport. Security was faster and much more efficient...yes, I realize that MCO has many more people to process but they don't need to do it with attitudes!!!
Thanks for sticking up for all of us.....extra screening indeed!!! :furious:

There is no excuse for acting like that. I sure hope they get their problems sorted out shortly. I have flown out of other airports and never have the trouble like we do at Orlando. :confused3

Good for you Carol A. I have noticed the lines are a little shorter but not by much. Some attitude adjustments would be nice by TSA agents.

I have a friend who works for the TSA at MSP. He said most TSA employees have basically a HS degree and that is it. Very few have post secondary education at all. He is one of the few who does have a college degree and he expects to move up the ladder quickly. The TSA can let the power go to their head. They need to relax and just do their job, not slack off. That is where a strong supervisor comes in... that supe should make sure they are doing their job!

On the other hand, I worked security at MSP (pre TSA) and it sucked! You were constantly getting yelled at by travelers who didn't give themselves enough time to make their flight. No fun.

Good for you Carol!

Keep in mind the ID checkers are NOT TSA employees They are contract employees hired by the airport. (I do intend to point out that Tampa is a good alternative in my complaint... Maybe Tampa would rather have my tax dollars on rental cars etc...)

Oh my! I was very disturbed reading that someone attempted to intimidate you like that. That is completely unprofessional on their part, and anyone that would make a statement like that to you a major security risk.

The ID checkers are not TSA employees, but I'm sure the TSA would be concerned about such behavior. Or, at least I would hope that type of behavior would get their major disapproval.

My gosh! Do make a formal complaint with as much detail as possible. Personnel like that put all of the travelling public at risk. The behavior like that is not to be tolerated.

Write and send a complaint letter even if you hear several other people near you say they are going to also.

This is unlike public hearings where the moderator asks you not to repeat the same things the previous persons said.
