Wow! What a great trip! The ship is too beautiful. Veranda rooms are a must. Ron Jon's Cape Caribe is perfect for a before and after stay-close to the ship and really nice pools etc. E-Z car rental is a true nightmare-they may be cheap but they are also borderline crooks-beware!
Nassau free beach-beautiful water-view of ship-chairs to rent-some shade-bar across street and very few "pests". Exit ship go to your right through the visitor's center, take the main street and go past Bristish Colonial hotel and Senior Frogs. No motor rentals available but a really beautiful beach for free with potties that flush! Our little ones made the walk fine (about 7 minutes )and our teenagers liked it too. Have fun -the cruise is the best family trip I have taken and I have been to many different locations and countries!

Hi. I am unsure if my response is getting through. Sorry if this is a repeat. In a nutshell;
Our driver never had to pass a road test for his license. Frightening beyond belief!
They were 35 minutes after the 10 they told us when we called at the airport.
They were out of mini-vans-which we had reserved yet they -what a wonder-found one no problem! The other people we road the shuttle with ended up with 2 cars and a "new" price!
Then they couldn't find my copy of insurance and I needed to call my agent at 8pm on a Sat! Yes they were a pain. I really would not use them-I have traveled quite a bit and took a chance this time -it was a mistake. I foolishly thought all companies were as reputable as I assumed they would be. This was the only glitch in our otherwise perfect vacation.

::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo Hello, Could you please give me more info on Ron Jon ? We are staying 3 nights in June. 2 bedroom with 6 of us. Did you eat in restaurant? Do they bother you to buy time share? Friendly? There is not much info on this resort because it is new and would appreciate anything you can offer. Thanks!

You will be really really happy with this resort. They do not say a word about the timeshare unless you seek them out. The lobby is beautiful with always something-jugglers, balloon animal makers, musicians. They have a movie theatre with free movies, a beautiful pool and the water park area. Great hot tub too. There is a bar right by the pool and you can order food there too. The coconut shrimp is to die for and the jerk-pork sandwich yummy! The sit down part is nice too. You should do some grocery shopping since you will be set up well in the kitchen. They also have pool activites with water aerobics and massage by the pool! The beach shuttle is quick, the drivers really nice and you will have amazing views of the ships leaving port. The puytt-putt golf and rooftop bball and tennis are too cool. We would love to go back and stay longer-our entire family was impressed and very pleased. Have a blast!!

Do you recall the name of the free beach in Nassau?

Hi! This is the scoop. It is very easy to get to and about a 10 minute walk if you're slow! When you get off the ship you will be in the visitor's center. It is right there and you can't avoid it if you try! Exit the center to your right-you will be on Woodes Rogers Walk. Continue past the straw market and Senor Frog's Restaurant. The road will turn into Navy Lion Rd and then West Bay St. West Bay St. will take you past the British Colonial Hilton Nassau. Soon after you pass that hotel-staying along the ocean- there will be the path to the beach. Very easy to find-in a nice populated area with a soda stand on the beach, chair rentals and no sales people except for a few hair braiders. Bar across the st. too! Beautiful sand, some shade, lovely water and view of the ships. Bathrooms too!
This is a great spot! No taxi or beach fee and close enough to the ship you can go back for meals. No water sport rentals here this is peacful and quiet! All four of my kids loved this day! Have fun!
