McDonalds is kind of expensive.....

Drinks are also a dollar al a carte, but more expensive in a meal.

It's generally cheaper to get two sandwiches, share a large fry, and two drinks than two combos. Plus you get more monopoly pieces by getting two med drinks.

Wendy's and Arby's are also really expensive for fast food.

My traditional order is a McDouble and a large fry. With our local tax it comes out to $3.25. My traditional meal at Taco Bell is almost $5 now, so I rarely go there. Taco Bell is not a $5 a meal place. :lmao:

One of DD's friends was over the other night so I could carpool the girls to soccer. Practice started at 5 and finished at 7:30. Friend's parents are teachers and were required to be at their schools until 8pm so I told them I'd grab something for dinner for the girls before dropping friend off. I couldn't believe the prices at Wendy's. I can eat lunch at quite a few local restaurants for the same amount and it's not fast food. It really made remember why I rarely hit the drive-though and if I do, usually order a kids meal.

Arby's definitely is. But it's roast beef instead of hamburger so I don't mind paying extra when we go there, which is rare these days. I don't go to McDonald's much anymore either, but when I do I get a regular hamburger, small order of fries and small diet coke, it's about $3.

We spent $29 on lunch at arbys today! No drinks! Dh and i ordered from the value menu, the kids had chicken strips and value menu fries. Crazy.

I usually get a McDouble and small fries for about $2.30. The meals are huge so I've never bothered with that.

Doesn't matter what fast food place we go to, DH and I share fries. At Arbys I like the Super Reuben so we get that as a meal and just get an extra drink. 1/2 a Super Reuben, iced tea unsweet and some curly fries is enough for each of us.

That about 7 dollars a person. Where else could you get a burger and fries and a drink for that

Not counting the drink (which costs McDonalds pennies), that's about what I pay for a "build your own" 1/3 pound burger, with a LARGE side of waffle fries at my favorite neighborhood place. Sit down restaurant. I get my choice of toppings, including things McDonalds doesn't even offer, my choice of bread or wrap (6 choices total), my choice of one of 8 cheeses. For quality, McD's can't touch it. Not even close.

I don't see the fascination with that place. My kids hate it. They refuse to go to McD's. EVER.

i never understand the $1 whatever size drink you want... why would u do that?

i once ordered about $30 worth of mcdonalds... the person taking our order was stunned. lmao...

Why would who do that?

We went there for the first time in a very long time last night and thought the same thing! We love their cookies and they were on the dollar menu 2 for $1, we ordered 4. It came out to$2.80 (they were charging us the individual price of $.70.)When we asked about it she told us that they had gone up in price. We told her that they were still on the menu for 2 for $1, but she insisted that they were not. I almost walked out. I know that it was only $.80, but it was my $.80 and they were not taking it!!LOL! I was frustrated. All it took was getting someone over there who knew how to punch it in right!

at Cookout. i realize there aren't a lot of them, but they have a meal deal that has one main item (BBQ sandwich, burger, chicken nuggets, etc.), TWO sides (fries, onion rings, chicken fingers, quesadilla, hush puppies, etc.) and a large drink. it's under $5.

Any of the mom and pop burger places here would cost you at least another $5. Yes, the burgers are better, but not $5 better.
Like others have posted, the key at any fast food place is to order off the value menu.

The fast food place that kills me is Carls Jr.

An Arby's roast beef sandwich could cost $100 and I would gladly pay it...I love those suckers:love:

It is actually pretty surprising how expensive some of those fast food places can be. I found it pretty insulting myself when I went to Subway and spent like $6+ (for a 6 inch sandwich, drink and chips).

I think 5 Guys is really expensive....but it is so good, so we keep going back...we just don't eat fast food that often.
