Since the search engine here mostly bites (LOL)...

Do I remember the McDonald's Fry carts were being removed and all McDonald's Fries essentially being removed from WDW or did I dream this? Dino's changed from McDonald's too, right? We last went in April and are going back in December and my DD(3) will starve w/o McDonald's Fries. :rotfl2:

Along the same lines, are there any restuarants that still have WHITE BREAD buns and such?

Thanks!

We were at WDW in April and I remember getting MD's fries from a snack place near BTMRR in MK. I also remember that you could use a snack credit for the large ones... much to my delight.

No. French fries from McDonalds are still available in every park except the Studios, I think.

You may have heard that McDonald's food is no longer served at Restaurantosaurus in Animal Kingdom. (They now serve standard Disney burgers, fries and chicken nuggets.) That appears to be true. The fry kiosk, however, is still there at the entrance to Dinoland.

You will need to go to table service or DTD for white bread buns. All CS in the parks serve wheat.

I guess I had just mis-interpreted that they were all gone based on what I had heard in April about Restaurantosaurus. There used to be a Mickey-D's Fry Cart on the left in the Studios going towards RnR. I bet it's still there too.

Sad about the white bread but I bet that horse has been beat to death. :rotfl2:

Thanks for the 411.

No, I heard it too. I think they even mentioned in on a Podcast over the summer. I think McDs was supposed to pull out sometime in Sept.???:confused3

I agree with ya, my boys love their McD fries and my DS4 is a picky eater. Many times we'd grab him McD nuggets and fries from the Kiosk near Canada while we dine around the world.

I'm also hoping to find McD in the parks.

I'm with ya on the white bread. I personally don't mind wheat, I just don't care for WDW wheat bread. My boys hate the wheat bagels. They don't even taste like a bagel! :rotfl2: I usually buy a bag of Thomas' bagels in the gift shops and toast them up a few mornings in the food court.

:scared1: I am going to have to convince myself that this WILL NOT be the case in May 2010 when my fam gets a little vaca time. This is not good news :sad2:

We actually didn't mind the wheat rolls at Caseys. It's just the bagels in the resorts are AWFUL!!

The MacDonalds locations are as follows:

MK: On the left side of Splash Mountain when entering through Frontierland.

AK: In front of Dinosaur.

Epcot: In Canada, around the bend heading towards Future World.

MGM (DHS): Not sure about this one, never eaten at it.

Hope this helps.

Funny, that was what I heard, too. Part of the healthier eating plan, I thought all McD's stuff was moving out of the parks. I guess I am not the only one who "heard" that, but I wonder what the real announcement was that we misinterpreted?

We were there in Sept and I don't remember seeing any fry carts at any of the parks. The one that stands out the most as missing/closed is the MK one between Frontierland and Adventureland. I do believe that all of them have been removed.

Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong.

If it was a healthy eating initiative then why are they still serving burgers, nuggets and fries (albeit not McDonalds) at Restaurantosaurus?

The Epcot and AK fry kiosks were open last weekend. I don't order from them but I walked past them. There was a big family camped out on the ground in Canada eating fries and nuggets. Epcot still sells McNuggets too.

As I understand it, they removed trans fats, changed the way they were cooking some items, and went to all-white-meat chicken in the nuggets. ADditionally, they added standard "healthy items" to the kids meals, including making apples or applesauce the default, and you have to ask for chips or french fries. This is just what I have read and interpreted, so correct me if I am wrong!!

The story about the McDonald's fry carts being eliminated was at Disneyland, not WDW.

Its a start.

For our McD loving friends, just found this on allears:

PetriFries (a McDonald's french fries location in Animal Kingdom) will be closed for refurbishment from November 2-21, 2008. When it reopens it will have a new name -- Trilobites -- and a new menu.

The Frontierland Fry Cart will be closed September 22, 2008 to January 11, 2009. The cart will be rebuilt into a larger building with seating next to it, with an expanded menu. When it reopens the spot will serve not only McDonald's fries and soda, but also wraps and chicken nuggets. While the Frontierland location is closed, McDonald's fries are still available at the Village Fry Shoppe in Fantasyland.

It's still a hamburger, fried potatoes and fried chicken nuggets - still not so healthy. If they wanted to be healthy they'd get rid of the fried stuff entirely and McDonalds would be totally gone from all the parks - but they know the guests won't stand for that. I wish they'd stop with this "we want to make sure you stay healthy" stuff.

I hear ya TDC. Guests wouldn't stand for it. But I DO like the new options they are giving us. SOmetimes I don't want more fries! Sure it's not often when on vacation that I turn down junk food, but when it's hot, sometimes apples really do sound better! LOL
