McClellan bashes the Bush Administration!

That is entirely nonresponsive. And be careful who you are calling "you guys."

I'm sorry, Sen. Kucinich...I had no idea it was you.

As far as being unresponsive, my point was, you aren't going to find much proof of wrong doing or interest in investigations when the Constitutional checks created to balance our system of government are all cooking the same books.

There are tell all books for everyone in public life because everyone is out to make a buck. There will be dozens of these books before it is through. Unfortunately, with this administration, I think there is probably a lot to tell.

How did we get Fitzgerald and Plame kerfuffle then? If there is a serious inkling that something is amiss, the administration will be forced to appoint an independent counsel to look into it.

Oh, and it's Representative Kucinich, not Senator! ;)

Off the top of my head, I can easily think of a couple who were forced into early retirement because of whistleblowing and/or disagreement with the Bush Administration, Maj. Gen. Taguba and General Shinseki.

Thanks. I was just getting ready to leave the office and had about three minutes to come up with a link. I'm sure there are many more than just these. It's easy to keep things quiet when you threaten people's careers, reputations and livlihoods for speaking up. The Bush White House is just corrupt. I didn't need this particular book to tell me that, it's been common knowledge for years.

You said Military Leaders and provided one name - hardly seems like a lot to me. Your original post was misleading, you should have said either military leader or Gen Riggs. See how easy it is to spread propaganda, both sides are really good at it.

I'm sorry, should it be several before it's deemed disgraceful. There are more.

Oh for Heaven's sake. Like the Democrats are saints. The parties are so similar sometimes you can't tell the difference.

In my wildest dream someone would have the guts and resources to make a viable Independent run.

Maybe Hillary could pull it off? :duck:

I find it funny that you say that and still don't understand the draw behind having a fresh face like Barack Obama running this election cycle instead of all the old retreads and usual suspects.

I think this can be said about all politicians, not just the Bush WH.

And I think it's just this sort of attitude that going to doom McCain's chances come fall. Seems nowadays, it's getting harder and harder to find a conservative to admit to supporting the current Administration, much less anyone who considers themselves a "Republican" anymore. At the same time, people are, in record numbers, crawling over broken glass to register as Democrats. I'm feeling better n' better the closer we get to November...

With the exceptions of some very modest tax cuts, I'm not sure that this administration has ever had the support of conservatives.

Because it's all a dog and pony show. This is a plutocracy and no one from either of the major parties can or will change that.

General Shinseki was not forced out. He was Army Chief of Staff for 4 years - the longest anyone normally holds that position. He had no place to go other than Chairman Joint Chiefs so he had to retire. You can normally only go forward - not backwards in positions in the military. He was also only a year away from the mandatory retirement age of 62. If you check the lists of Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs you will see that Gen Myer was in the middle of his 4 years when Shinseki retired. The fact that he actually held on to the position despite the feelings of Rumsfeld toward him attests to his integrity and desire to help the soldiers but when you time in the military is up there is little you can do to stay.

As a former Republican supporter all of my adult life, I been telling all of you people that Bush and his way of doing things was wrong, misdirected, and hurting the country and the GOP brand name. I have been speaking out for over two years and it just falls on deaf ears. It's why I left the party and the mindset some of you still display. The Republican party is in some bad shape much like it was right after the Watergate fiasco came to a head in 1974, all thanks to Bush, Cheney, and that turd Karl Rove. I have also said that many more insider books on the Bush WH are in the works and this is just the start of seeing what went on behind the scenes. I can't wait to see what Colin Powell is going to write about his experiences and being forced out. He still has a favorable rating with the American people and can't be smeared for telling what went on.

I think that when they see what Powell and a few others have to say they'll look back at the time when McClellan's book came out as the good old days.

So, they put him on ignore and did what they wanted, is what it comes down to.

Yes probably but they didn't force him out nor was he demoted or his pension lowered. He left on his own terms when his time was up. He could have given up and retired early but he choose to stay and try to help the troops. I'm not supporting Rumsfled, Bush, anyone in the administration or the war (I was against it from the very start), I am simply pointing out inacuracies that have been posted.
