McClellan bashes the Bush Administration!

I haven't read his book.:confused3 I do however have a problem with anyone who, rather than go through proper channels to report a problem (ie: start an investigation, etc), they choose to instead write a book to line their pockets. I would have a problem with either side of the aisle doing this, it's tacky to say the least and certainly not in our countries' best interest.

I couldn't agree more...or have said it better.

Personally, I have no problem with folks who choose to speak the truth. I have lots of problems with people like Bush who happily attend their daughter's wedding while sending other good citizen's sons and daughters to risk their lives's in his own little war.
Life and death trumps "genteel propriety" and "tackiness" every time.

It's tacky to attend your own child's wedding? Who knew? We'll have to add that to the things I learned on the DIS!

DO you thnk there was a chance he would have been taken serously? The administraton has been so locked up with cronies and Bush loyalists - not to mention the Republcan lead congress - this is probably the only way.Not the preferred way, but seriously - what other way? He would have to know that in the atmosphere at the time, he would have been a major target and it would be tantemount to professional suicide.

Perhaps this book will finally answer the question of whether Bush is really (1) an evil genius, or (2) a dunce who is merely a puppet of Cheney?

Where are we now? A few days ago-4,078 dead. All due to a lie. Yes, I think the proper thing would have been to have the wedding, no public pictures distributed. That's just me though. He has many more years of pictures to take with his daughters. He's a lucky one. Other parents aren't so lucky.

Others feel differently-it's America. I'm OK with that. I just really feel for the parents who will never attend their child's wedding because they're children's young lives were lost in Bush's Iraq.

I suspect that the roadblocks into such an investigation are immense and I can see someone not wanting to deal with that.

I'd like to read these books before I judge. I do hope that the complete truth comes out.

But do you really think that his daughter should be punished for his mistakes? That is not exactly fair to her.

So, he wasn't supposed to attend his daughter's wedding? I'm sure that would have gone over well.

I think Jimmy Carter has him beat. I stay off the Obama thread since I am not a fan of him. But I think your post goes a bit too far...just saying...

I will agree to disagree:) What I posted was just my opinion of course.:hippie:

I think GWB will certainly be one of the worst....I can't think of one reason to be in the best group, that's for sure.

No public picture was what my opinion was. The pictures were taken, and distributed around. My view didn't prevail, that's OK. I just think it must have been painful for the parents who's kids went to Iraq based on Bush's "facts".

I just can't see who McClellan could have turned to in order to start an investigation or to just report a problem....I think it would be incredibly hard to be a whistle blower when dealing with the power of the presidency.

I forgot to ask in my post why would you stay off the Obama Thread if you are not a fan of Jimmy Carter? I don't think they talk about Carter at all.

I'm sure it is painful for the parents, and may I never have to find out how that feels, but as a daughter of the President of the United States it would be very difficult to not distribute pictures of the wedding.

There isn't a large enough smilie that shakes it's head for this one. :sad2:

Yeah, he should have said "sorry Dear, I can't walk you down the aisle until I'm out of office."

I think you misunderstood my post. I was simply stating that I thought Jimmy Carter was worse when you stated that 'Bush was the worst...'. You are bolding a statement that was not meant as you took it. I could go on the Obama supporter thread and disagree, but since it is meant for supporters, I am not going to...I was saying nothing else. I guess I am done posting here...

Do you think $cott McClellan’s new book ( a 341-page book to be released Monday) will cause as much damage to President Bush’s administration as the Richard Clarke tell-all book did?

No, it cannot do much more damage to the administration than the administration has done to itself, obviously

It's just like corporate America... the "channels" are lined with the enemy. Waste of time and energy.

If it's an inside view of the country's policies, people have the right to review it and make their own decisions.

Personally I don't need a book to make MY decision. :smokin:

Sorry I was confused by the wording of your post. And I still am...why would you bring up the Obama thread at all was my question...no one over there is discussing this issue...it has nothing to do with Obama. The McClellan discussion is here...at least I thought.
