McClellan bashes the Bush Administration!

I'm sure Bush's legacy will be a dismal one and more and more folks will be speaking the truth about the ruthless and vindictive things that have happened behind closed doors. McClellan had to wait until he left the position before speaking the truth because we all know what happens to those who disagree with the president. Ask any of his military leaders that disagreed with him and ended up demoted and had their pensions cut short.

Personally, I have no problem with folks who choose to speak the truth. I have lots of problems with people like Bush who happily attend their daughter's wedding while sending other good citizen's sons and daughters to risk their lives's in his own little war.
Life and death trumps "genteel propriety" and "tackiness" every time.

I have a middle-of-the-road approach here. I'm glad McClellan is speaking the truth, but make no mistake, he's getting BIG bucks for this.

I hate the war, but really have no problem with Jenna getting married. She isn't responsible for the war in any way and she has every right to get married and have her father there. It isn't her fault who he happens to be. The public wanted to see photos, at least many did.

Bottom line; I believe McClellan is telling the truth mostly but have no illusions as to whether he is making himself a nice chunk of change while doing it. That always seems to cause some people to take pause and doubt.

I haven't read his book.:confused3 I do however have a problem with anyone who, rather than go through proper channels to report a problem (ie: start an investigation, etc), they choose to instead write a book to line their pockets. I would have a problem with either side of the aisle doing this, it's tacky to say the least and certainly not in our countries' best interest.

Your statement just doesn't make any sense to me. McClellan is writing about his experiences and what he saw in the GWB White House. He was part of that culture and who was he supposed to report to? What was he going to say? Mr President I'm not liking how we are selling the Iraq war to the American people and some of the rationale doesn't add up, it just doesn't feel right. Or maybe this. Mr President I don't think how you and the upper staff should wait a week on the Katrina disaster and make it look like we're all out of touch and uncaring. Maybe we should engage and not just take a picture of you looking out over N.O. on Air Force One.

Please, like that was going to change things or make Bush and company do things differently. Yeah, like that would have worked well.:rolleyes1 They did the things they did because it's what they wanted to do. No one in that administration was a helpless victim and the end result was due to the fallout from their poor decisions. You reap what you sow as the old saying goes.

As a former Republican supporter all of my adult life, I been telling all of you people that Bush and his way of doing things was wrong, misdirected, and hurting the country and the GOP brand name. I have been speaking out for over two years and it just falls on deaf ears. It's why I left the party and the mindset some of you still display. The Republican party is in some bad shape much like it was right after the Watergate fiasco came to a head in 1974, all thanks to Bush, Cheney, and that turd Karl Rove. I have also said that many more insider books on the Bush WH are in the works and this is just the start of seeing what went on behind the scenes. I can't wait to see what Colin Powell is going to write about his experiences and being forced out. He still has a favorable rating with the American people and can't be smeared for telling what went on.

This administration has a habit of stonewalling investigations that arise through "proper channels."

That's it? That's all you've got? "It's tacky...and not in our country's best interest." Au contraire mon ami. It is TOTALLY in the best interest of every single citizen of this country to know what kind of person we have for a President. It's too late to get rid of him but perhaps some people will learn from it. 'Proper channels'?????? Spend a billion to investigate the POTUS and then smack his hands? I think the people deserve the truth without having to pay dearly for it a second time. Thousands of lives have already been lost in the name of patriotism because this man had a personal agenda. We can't afford to wait for an investigation. I say give Scott McClellan all the money and stop the war. At last someone has the morals to speak out. :thumbsup2

Apparently since we're in Iraq and the deed is done, we're not supposed to hold anyone accountable for lying to get us in there.

Perhaps this book will finally answer the question of whether Bush is really (1) an evil genius, or (2) a dunce who is merely a puppet of Cheney?
Does it really matter? BOTH of them should have been impeached long ago.

None of these revelations are new; the only difference with McClellan's book coming out is that someone who was on the inside is now stating what others have been saying for many years. Of course, Bush supporters have up until this point been able to claim that it was just the liberal media doing what they do best. Little by little, that excuse will no longer be available to them.

Now, be fair. Bush did give up golf.

I'm saying if McClellan has something to say he should have gone to members of the Senate and House and the Media if he felt there was something so horribly wrong with what he saw working in the WH. I'm sure NBC and MSNBC would have talked to him in a heartbeat to get his story out there. But no, instead he chose to make (possibly) millions $$$$$$ off of a book deal selling his book to people who never liked Bush in the first place.

What exactly could the media then do? Who challenges the Commander in Chief and wins.... especially in the current atmosphere of Washington, the either you're with us or you're the enemy attitude of the GWB administration.

You apparently missed the '90s?

You don't think the media can put pressure on congress to do something?
Based on your theory, why even bother voting, nothing will ever get done in Washington? :confused3
