Yes… sadly they needed to refurb the drywall… that’s my issue with so many of the refurbs… they don’t change the doorknobs, or remove the jetted tubs but keep all the shape with the steps as though there were a jetted tubs for example…

Yes and it doesn’t fit the space that was there before…. It looks undersized!

Amazing to me that Bay Lake Tower, Animal Kingdom Lodge, etc. aren’t putting those in as they remove the jetted tubs…

The good news is the lighting in the resort is so dark, you won’t be able to see anything anyways!

Your VB trip report is what i was really looking forward too. I wanted to hear from someone who went in a different season. I am so glad you loved it but your report solidifies why its not for us and makes me happy to not have fomo. I know you said you loved it which is funny im saying this, but its because the activities you mentioned you loved are mostly for kids and well we dont have any.

My cousin also loved this resort with her three kids and we went at the same time so now I can connect the dots. Her son loved mini golfing and the kids did a lot of unique crafts like pillow making etc.

We also loved the room layout and thought the theme was very peaceful and the rooms were well though out. They did seem very spacious and my wife actually said it was her favorite room in all of dvc! It is just really relaxing.

What you wrote about the beach disappoints me about VB and why you helped me decide that its not worth it to return. I love swimming and being in the ocean. I was hoping the rough waters was just bad luck when we went there. My wife isnt a strong swimmer and she seemed really sad that she didnt feel safe to go in the water and then I felt sad she wasnt enjoying it with us. I wouldnt be happy just dipping my toes in or sitting and watching it, thats just not us. The drop IS scary and the seashells are rough. Im hoping that HHI is more our speed because I love the idea of a destination away from the parks that we loveA I just wish it was vb because of how close it is to wdw. Oh well!

The beach chairs situation was a hot mess express for us as well and you'd think after all these years they'd have that running more smoothly.

The easter egg hunt sounds magical for families with young children and you are so lucky you didnt have any noseeums!! Its good to know that theyre not year round!

We're they playing music at the pool? That was probably one of my favorite things aside from the green room adult nights which are way too short. I wonder if the spa here is any good and perhaps that would make it more appealing for us as a couple. We did not like the QS and I dont think you missed anything skipping wind and waves dinner which is probably one of my least favorite restaurants in dvc.

Anyways im so glad you enjoyed it and helped me figure out why its not for us! Like I always say, I am very greatful for the variety of resorts and perhaps a beach cottage one june during turtle season could do it for us!

I can very much see where you are coming from. It does not seem like this is a beach with slow rolling waves very often and I think they could definitely improve how they do those beach chairs - Disney is usually so good at managing crowds and lines and ensuring that, if you're willing to pay more, you can have a better experience. That does not describe the beach chair situation there.

They did play music at the pool a lot! On Saturday and Sunday, they had DJ's there both days. On Sunday, they did quite a few games too. One of the funnest was limbo, where even a few adults (including myself) joined in! Haha.

But, I can also see the lack of adult activities here not being the best for a couple without kids. I'd enjoy trying out the spa - just hard to do when you don't have someone to watch those little kids. If we do a full week in the future, I'll probably try a little harder to find some childcare so my wife and I can try to enjoy a few of the adult activities that they do offer.
