I find it extremely close-minded how it's okay for Black history month to be celebrated, but if a White history month were to be celebrated, it's racist.

exactly, no matter who gets picked as the next president, McCain or Obama, the people of the US will still find ways to make fun of the president, hate his choices, etc. the list goes on and on.

You can't please everyone. I agree with this 100%.

People who don't like Obama, will make fun of him for his name.
People who don't like McCain will find things to.

I base my judgement off there decisions and choices they make for this country, since it will ultimately effect me or the ones I love.

I kind of see the point, but for hundreds of years people of african descent were being mistreated, and bought and sold as slaves. Their accomplishments were never previously celebrated. So now I guess America is trying to turn around from the past few hundred years. While White people's accomplishments have been celebrated for all eternity.

So McCain said he himself doesn't know much about the economy. That may be a bit of a problem with the state we're in.

Thoughts on how McCain will be the saviour of our economy?

I understand that people want to celebrate, I would too. After their achievements, I don't doubt they deserve it.
What I'm saying is, nearly every coloured person in my enviornment will throw it to your face that you only did such and such "because I'm black". Say you tell a child to sit down on thre bus because it's a safety hazard. 99.9% of the times in my enviornment they will retort back "It's because I'm black right?!"

If a coloured person wants to celebrate an achievement, it's fine. But if a white person wants to celebrate an achievement, it's racist. I'm confused?

i never said that. and anyone who does, is racist.

and while i dont think being called a cracker denotes a white history month, but you do live in a representative deomcracy. so if you want one, go petition lobby appeal and get one.

white people have, historically, never been racially profiled except by other white people. now sure, you hear racial slurs going back and forth in the hallways of school (beaner, cracker, the n word etc) and yes, im sure some minorities dislike white people, but the sides of the racism cannot be compared. sure, some mexican doesnt like you cause youre white. but when youre dark skinned, you deal with that every day of your whole life. while both are racism, one is a much more extreme case than the other. and being called a cracker is a lot less hurtful than some things ive seen.

No one is EVER hated for the color of their skin where I live, unless youre white.


Let me say this way.

School.

Youre sitting doing work, average A student not popular, just a person.
Then all of the sudden someone says "Move you piece of white trash", and then the entire class starts making this big uproar, in which they all think its funny and call you "white trash" for absolutely nothing.

FINE.

Lets take it to the next step, lets say, "Excuse me, i am not white trash, and that is walking all over my rights and responsibilities as a student here"

All of the sudden you are called racist against a "black chick" and she walks away with "Fine...racist".

I agree with what Sonya said also.
I was a safety guard at my ELEMENTARY school, and we had to make sure all of the students *different ages* were on the bus.
So we were doing a check through, and a 2nd grader was chewing some gum, we don't allow that so i say "Excuse me but you need to spit out that gum before we can leave"..."ITS BECAUSE IM BLACK ISNT IT!?"

I get that comeback all of the time.

Oh gosh, McCain just picked Sarah Palin as his running mate. She's only been governor of Alaska for a year and a half, has no previous experience, and was a PAGEANT QUEEN. Way to play the woman card, and a sneaky and despicable thing to pull just to get some Clinton votes. Sad, I tell you.

We don't need white history month because basically, over most of history, well the people were causcasian. So I'd think we'd need more than a month to go over everything, plus, most of what you learn in school anyways, is history, involving whites.

Okay, this isn't really a response to Sparx, but a response to the Mexican. I hate to sound really racist, but I know I will so deal with it. Hispanic/Latino isn't a race. It's the same thing as white. They've only been considered a race for 10 years. Hispanics are white, it's not a seperate race.
