I'm not saying there shouldn't be a month.
I don't understand why they can celebrate their achivements throughout history and not be accused of racism. When if a non-coloured person wants to celebrate their achievements throughout history, it's racism.
I don't mind there is a black history month, but when someone who is merely a different skin tone wants do the same thing, don't turn around and call it racism.

I'm voting Obama, mainly because I am TERRIFIED of what McCain will do to this country.

In my opinion, if McCain becomes president the situation that we're in is only going to get worse. That is last thing we need to be happening right now, especially with the economy being what it is.

What we need is to GET OUT OF IRAQ and get this country back together. Because right now it's a complete mess.

Oh gosh, McCain just picked Sarah Palin as his running mate. She's only been governor of Alaska for a year and a half, has no previous experience, and was a PAGEANT QUEEN. Way to play the woman card, and a sneaky and despicable thing to pull just to get some Clinton votes. Sad, I tell you.

Obama, because he picked a qualified VP.

Obama has only had little more experience than her. That is a very stereotypical view to say all pageant queens are dumb or unfit to be vice presidential hopefuls. I don't know how it would be despicable to pull her out for Clinton votes, I find it to be a very smart and strategic move. Many VP candidates are chosen for their ability to appeal to a different crowd than the presidential candidates, and she obviously appeals to another demographic of voters. I don't know how that's despicable. It was sneaky, but is sneaky all that bad?

I can't wait for the Obama campaign to jump all over her inexperience. Right when McCain's endless mudslinging about Obama's inexperience started to have some affect he chooses Sarah Palin. She's been governor of Alaska, a state with a tiny population, for practically 15 minutes and before that she was mayor of some podunk town. Now she's got a chance to lead the USA.

Plus, guys, it seems she hates polar bears...

Wow. I'm offended, considering I do pageants?
Am I some dumb bimbo? No. I'm an honor student who does pageants to make friends. If I didn't do some of the pageants I did, I never would have met some of my best friends. And that's the only reason I do them.

Take Miss America for example, the women who compete in that are competing to win scholarship money for college. They're not just "pretty faces". They're women who are out to spread the word on their platforms. Our current Miss America is speaking out about eating disorders, and also speaks on various other charities. Beauty queens are very intelligent women.

The only pageant that can be criticized is Miss USA. And that's only because of Tara Connor and the fact that instead of scholarship money, they give cars and apartments. However, they still do work with many charities as well.

It's sad that you believe the "World Peace" sterotype. Women who compete in pageants are a lot more than that.

And I think McCain's running mate isn't just a beauty queen, she's a smart woman who has the opportunity to do a lot in her life now.

At this point I don't think McCain is basing his decisions on what he thinks is right, or what could be good for the country...
He's just trying to get himself in office no matter what could happen afterwards.
