$68 us for how many? Because the platter is $38 plus drinks. Let me know please because if there is a mistake, I must go and check this. I recommend this restaurant and I do not like them to make mistakes because then I am the one who looks bad. I hope I misunderstood but if not please let me know.

About Victors, I am not sure but if you take a tour in the afternoon you will see plenty. Also by the terminal building there are many shops selling these things.

Oh...I'm sorry Frank. That bill for $68 was in Cabo San Lucas at "the Office". I was just comparing the pesos to the dollars. LOL... sorry to scare you! (and it was for 3 people)

I put this information on the thread a while ago, but maybe some of you have not read it.
We have different types of Taxis in Mazatlan.
We have regular taxis which are painted green and white or red and white. We have Pulmonias (Pneumonias in English), they call them that way because of the taxi drivers, who would tell people to not ride on those vehicles like golf carts because they would catch a pneumonia, which is not true, but they were trying to make them look bad because they were the compitition of regular taxis. As the time went by, the pneumonias got so popular that the taxi drivers tried to compete, so they bought the VW´s The thing, and made them similar but trying to call them Penicilins, because they were the cure to pneumonia. The name did not stay so we call them Safaris. Also we have these red nissan pick ups with a little roof in the back and also benches, which seat around 8 or 10 people. These were called first Bronquitis but now called Aurigas. These are great for large families and also cargo.
This is a little more information about Mazatlan. I will talk about something else in my next reply.

Does Victors have a souvenir shop that have refrigerator magnets or key chains, etc? I prefer to shop one place and do more sight seeing.

Are you refering to Victor's on Randi's tour? If you are It's a very quaint restaurant. Very old fashioned and relaxing. The only things you'll find sold there are from the vendors that walk the beach. Randi keeps them away if she doesn't like them. If I'm not mistaken you're taking a tour with Frank. He'll take you to the Market. It's full of souveniers like that...and there's a food market on the other side that's very interesting. Frank fits it all in. Don't worry. He even got us back to the ship early because some of our members were very concerned about staying at Frank's B & B.

BTW - were you able to have a mini luau on the ship? Did you get to teach the chef how to make spam musubi? I can eat that everyday.

A mini luau on the ship would have been interesting. Most the crew are not Americans. Can you imagine trying to explain to them what a luau is? At times I was tempted to take out my rice pot and ask the waiters to cook me "real rice". I had left over rice from my trip to L.A. so I could have done it. If we had seen Frank earlier it would have been good to bring him some Spam musubi's. He had to settle for the Macadamia nut candy we brought. I watched our video today of our day with Frank and Randi and want to go back. You'll love the horsebackriding on the beach. Oh, if Frank forgets to tell you how they keep the shrimp so sweet in Maztlan ask him. At Victor's everybody raves about the garlic shrimp but my family liked the breaded shrimp. Get both if you have shrimp lovers in your party.

P.S. Somebody did teach you how to make Spam musubi's didn't they? I wonder if you can get nori (seaweed in a sheet...kind of like a tortilla but square) up there.

Southern Cal is the melting pot of all kind - especially the island kine. Spam musubi is a common dish around here. For me ----- I am spoiled - it is easier to buy the finished one than to gather, cook and assemble.

Garlic and breaded shrimp - bring it on!!!! Can't wait til Aug.
Maybe some day - the DCL would head out to the islands.

Sheri I have no clue about what you are talking about, but I am getting hungry. I started a diet yesterday! Imagine living in Mazatlan and going on a diet, but what can you do? I have a few pounds over and need to loose them. I think with the little diet and the heat here, I will make it. But, you can be sure that I finished the Macademia nuts first...mmmmmm!
Now I suffer, hahahaha. Next time you come I can maybe try the spam musubi.

DonettaR Sorry but its been a time since I have used the real mail. I think it is around $1us or $10pesos. At the terminal, you will see under a tree, a person that gives massages, next to him is a little booth where they sell stamps and they have a box. This booth belongs to the Mexican Post office so you can be sure it will be sent out.

It sounds like alot to do in Mazatlan. Are the jellyfish still in town? We would like to do Stone Island Tour but not if the jelly fish are there. Kids love the water but I don't want them stung. What's the cure for stings? WD-40?

Husband and I would like to do tequilla trip. Are the producing yet? My husband works at a Grape processing plant in Calif. Not Wine just juice. To bad they don't have tours of the beer factory. We would like to do that too. Been to the Budweiser plant before.
Is there a tour for the tequilla plant that wouldn't be a Disney? They charge too much. We would like the tequilla tour and ride back to Tonys to eat and play on the beach. That seems fun. We have a limited budget so not much shopping will be done.

What about Cigars? Where's a good place to get some that aren't too expensive. Are they the Cubans? Husband will smoke them before we get home. hahaha I have heard of a place in San Los Cabo to get them. Just wondering about Mazatlan.
If we go to Tony's the Gold Zone for shopping seems close. I might like to get some fabric or a sundress already made.

I would like to say no, but I cannot. Yes there has been jellyfish. I actually read in the newspaper again today about this. I hope that by the time you get here, they go away. I have heard about WD 40 and many other cures but I think a Doctor would be much better.
I have not been to the Tequila factory for a while but some friends told me that they were producing again. Yes, there is a Brewery tour. I did it for a long time. You must make reservations ahead of time though. I will email you some information.
I hope that you have fun when you come to Mazatlan. It is a great City!

It is the Pacifico brewery. It is quite interesting and the samples are the best! It belongs to the same owners that make Corona. Actually sometimes they make Corona at this brewery also, when they have more demand.
