"Maybe We Should Go To Disney World Next Week" An Impromptu May DR *COMPLETE*

We made our way to DTD for a showing of the movie Neighbors, which was pretty hilarious. We of course had to hit up our favorite movie spot. MacGuffins bar! I love the bar here. They just opened up an AMC Dine-In theater near me, complete with MacGuffins bar. I am so excited to check it out!

We had a few minutes to kill before the movie and the bartender here was super friendly and was chatting with us about Disneyland Paris and how we NEED to go there. I'm convinced.

Rob had a Blue Moon and I had an Angry Orchard Cider. I LOVE Angry Orchard on tap. Delicious!

I took my drink into the movie and enjoyed it with my leftover pizza from Via Napoli. Pizza and Angry Orchard in a movie theater. Does it get any better than that? :thumbsup2

LOVE Via Napoli!! I've primarily had the Carciofi pizza which is a white pizza and just love it! Via Napoli is our only World Showcase must have! I'm also a fan if the Zeppole but I did pass on them this last time. I can't go to Italy without having Sangria though!!

We went to ESPN once on our last trip and hung out for several hours without it being an issue.

I'm also a HUGE fan of Angry Orchard on tap.. Really hoping they bring it back this year for F&W!! I missed it last year.

I am all caught up! I've been a busy bee...I was getting grumpy about missing out on my DR/TR readings (kind of like missing an episode of your favorite show lol).

Oh my, you have been eating so good! I am so hungry now! From the chili cheese fries to the VN pizza! Is the VN Pizza better than WPE Pizza? I LOVE a good brick oven pizza....it's totally my weakness!

Angry Orchard is one of our "must haves" in the fridge(I may or may not be having one right now :rolleyes1)...on tap is the best! They had it on tap at Hershey Park this past Monday and my husband and I had one with our lunch....delish. I don't blame you for not paying almost $8 for a bottled beer, even in Disney. For a few dollars more you can get an amazing Margarita from La Cava that will get you wayyyy more alcohol mileage than a single beer. :rotfl:

So glad to be caught up! Your reports make me so happy. :cloud9:

I'm all caught up. We are going to Via Napoli for the first time next week and I'm getting that dessert! Also, worst thing about flip flops at WDW is when it rains-my feet won't stay in them. So I pack the Merrill sandals for rain.

The zeppoles are phenomenal at Via. Definitely much better than any I have had at the Jersey shore.

So sorry about falling behind (this is what happens when I try to follow multiple reports!), but I'm glad to see you had great meals at Captain's Grille and Via Napoli. As you know, Captain's Grille is one of my favorites, simply because it's a quiet, understated option with some surprisingly tasty items on the menu. :thumbsup2

As for Via Napoli, I haven't eaten there in a long time (since early 2011, I think), but I always liked the pizza there. The problem there is how expensive everything is (even if the quality is high). That said, I might need to return whenever I'm next in Epcot - the zeppole look really tempting!

Your Fried ricotta cheese balls. Pizza and zeppoles all look amazing. I was one of those who took a long time to try Via Napoli as well. Soon I found it's not a good pizza it's The Pizza. Rob's spaghetti looks good but his appetizer looked a bit greasy.
What a fabulous afternoon rain and all ... Epcot, baseball, beer and a movie that's one fun day!!

Just found your trip report and LOVE it!

You have had two of my favorite TS meals so far - Breakfast at Trail's End and Via Napoli. That pepperoni pizza and a cold draft beer are my perfect meal! I appreciate a fancy schmancy meal too but at the end of the day, that Via Napoli meal is my absolute can't miss, to die for favorite! Only difference is I prefer to end mine with the "ugly but good" sundae (topped with some of the chocolate sauce if my kids happen to order the zeppole LOL).

Loved the food at Via Napoli both times we went. This past February we had the worst service ever (besides Crystal Palace.) There was a table beside us that 3 servers/bus boys were tending to an barely helped us and we had to get up to even get a server in the first place after waiting 10 minutes. Now I am a cashier in a restaurant and hear the complaining all the time so I rarely do. But after the guy grabbed my arm that had my magicband on it I had enough and spoke to the manager who deleted our meal from the system. I love the pizza and the dessert but it is not on my favorite places to go back to anytime soon. Loved the ESPN club. I had to take a picture of the tv in the bathroom :rotfl2: The Neighbors was hilarious but that might also have something to do with my Zac Efron obsession :worship:

Isn't via Napoli pizza just heaven on earth. Hands down the best I've ever had. I literally dream about the prosciutto and cantaloupe pizza. Sounds weird, but it is the most amazing combo ever.

We've done a few football games at ESPN and while it's great to see the games their beer prices are ridic. Good to know they take TiW. Best thing ever either the 20% alcohol discount. Usually pays for itself with our drinks alone.

MM Via Napoli! I am glad you found your love for their pizzas! They are delicious!

I am totally hooked now! We will be back there again in September. :thumbsup2

Mmmmm, white pizza sounds good too. I'm going to be torn on which pizza to try next time. I think I might have to try the sangria for sure this time. :thumbsup2

They seem pretty cool with people just hanging out at ESPN. We've stayed through two football games before.

I wish I could find a place around me that serves Angry Orchad on tap. It's so so good that way!

I need to get caught up with other DRs as well. Time just gets away from me in the summer.

I love brick oven pizza too. As much as I LOVE WPE pizza, this was even better. OMG it was amazing!

There is usually a stray Angry Orchard in my fridge at all times as well. Have you tried the green apple one yet? I didn't like it as much as the crisp apple, but it was good. We are thinking about taking a trip to Hershey Park this summer. I haven't been there in forever. If we go I'll definitely keep an eye out for AO on tap.

That price for a bottle of beer is insane. You're absolutely right, I would rather pay a few more dollars for a mixed drink. I have a hard time ordering a beer or wine when we're out, as opposed to a mixed drink. I can't necessarily make the same drink at home as I could order out, but I can certainly uncork a bottle of wine or pop the top off a beer for 1/4 of the price it would be when you go out.:thumbsup2

I need to get a move on this report! It will be time to start my next one before I know it!

I'm all caught up. We are going to Via Napoli for the first time next week and I'm getting that dessert! Also, worst thing about flip flops at WDW is when it rains-my feet won't stay in them. So I pack the Merrill sandals for rain.

I hope you have an awesome time at VN! The dessert was fabulous! I wear the Teva sandals the whole time we are down there, but when those get wet... yikes. Not pleasant.

The zeppoles are phenomenal at Via. Definitely much better than any I have had at the Jersey shore.

I've never had zeppoles before this trip. I'll definitely have to look for them the next time I'm at the shore! Just to compare... for research. :lmao:

So sorry about falling behind (this is what happens when I try to follow multiple reports!), but I'm glad to see you had great meals at Captain's Grille and Via Napoli. There's so many great DRs going on right now. It's hard to keep up! Captain's Grille is quickly becoming one of our favorites as well. We may take a break from it this trip just because we are sticking to the MK/MK resort area this time for the most part.

The prices at VN are definitely outrageous. It's what always kept me from booking a meal there prior to this. $22 for an individual pizza seems more than a little steep. The zeppole were delicious! I highly recommend! :thumbsup2

You're absolutely right, it is THE Pizza! I can't wait to have it again. He really loved the spaghetti and meatballs, but I think I have him convinced to try the pizza this time.

We never let the rain get us down! It really was a fun day!

Thanks for joining in! :goodvibes

I definitely appreciate a fancy meal too, but you're right, sometimes it's the simple things like a pizza that really make me the most happy. I was tempted by that sundae as wel. Maybe I'll switch it up next time and end with that dessert.

Loved the food at Via Napoli both times we went. This past February we had the worst service ever (besides Crystal Palace.) That's too bad about your service last time! When you deal with the public, you definitely know when it's too much to take. It's a shame that soured you from returning. It's always fun to spend an afternoon at ESPN. The tvs in the bathroom always crack me up. Oh, Zac Efron. He was just too cute in that movie. Him being shirtless definitely bumped my rating up a notch.

I am very intrigued by the prosciutto and melon combo. I want to try it before I commit to a whole pizza though.

It kills me to spend that kind of money on beer. Especially when there's a Hess station across the street with cheap beer. Rob always says that's the one thing Disney is really lacking. I real bar with normal prices and great happy hour specials. I think he can keep dreaming on that one. Thank goodness for our TiW card. It definitely takes the sting off those prices!

I've only found two places with it on tap.. Buffalo Wild Wings and Old Chicago Pizza. Most other places it's bottles if you can even find it that way.

After the movie let out, we made our way over to the Marketplace to walk around and look in the shops. We were both getting hungry again, so we decided on one of our favorite food spots. WPE!

We placed our order to-go and waited at one of the tables with our number for them to bring us our food.

Our food came out nicely packed with lots of napkins and utensils in a big to-go bag and then we got on a bus and made our way back to CBR with our dinner.

We set up for a picnic in the room, so that we could enjoy our food while we watched the latest episode of Survivor.

We both got the Meatloaf Sandwich. Melted Provolone, Bacon, Tomato Chutney, Horseradish Cream, and Crispy Onion Strings served with Herb Seasoned French Fries.

Yum! This is always one of our favorites! Last time I wasn't crazy about the horseradish cream, so I got it without it this time. Much better! Everything was a little cold and would have been better just a bit warmer, but we knew it would be less fresh having to take the long bus ride back, so not a big deal. I love a sandwich with onion straws and the bread this sandwich is served on is fantastic. The fries were great even though they weren't as fresh and I loved that they even gave us a little container of ketchup with our sandwiches. They thought of everything with that to-go box!

We were now officially in a food coma for the evening. Now we had to get to bed because we had an early morning planned for Hollywood Studios!

Joining in! I would pass out from disbelief if my husband suggested a spur of the moment Disney trip....getting him to agree 6 months out is enough of a challenge for me! You're a lucky girl! :)

I'm having so much fun following along with your report! You seem like my kind of people.....I take the approach that rides & shows are just something you do to fill the time between meals!

Can't wait to read more!

I have never had the meatloaf sandwich at WPE before. I will have to try it next time, it looks really yummy!!

Your sandwich looks great I'll have to try it next time for sure. I would make the sacrifice to eat colder food to relax in my room as well and enjoy tv show and eat in. My husband on the other hand likes to eat at a table at the restaurants but desserts we often taken back for later on ... ( yeah kind of a dud that way lol )

We LOVE Via Napoli! Last time DSis and I split the Quattro Formaggi pizza and added parma ham at the suggestion of our waiter. Heaven!

Looks like you had a great time at ESPN. Thanks to your DR, you've convinced me to try the Schofferhofer Grapefruit and the Angry Orchard. I've never had either and I need to rectify that. ;)

Your sandwich looks sooo good! WPE is a favourite of ours too but I've never tried that sandwich. There are just too many good things on their menu, LOL.

All caught up on your delicious reviews!!

Had fun catching up this morning! I just love Yacht & Beach Club but for some reason have never tried Captains Grill. It is going on the list! As is the meatloaf sandwich (sans horseradish) at WPE!! Isn't Via Napoli just delicious?!?!? I soooo wish they sold it by the slice at the pizza window or in Tutto Gusto. I am hungry just thinking about it!!!!
