MAYbe we should go back to Disney World-A May 2012 PTR;6/7 Link to TR-Post#592; p. 40

Great updates, Michelle (I was two behind I think). I really am enjoying seeing the changes in the kids with each visit.

Holy smokes! The wait times and crowds were :scared1:! We've been to Disney during Thanksgiving week and I thought that was a busy time but it doesn't compare to your pictures.

Wow I can't believe the great deal you got on the Yacht Club ~ especially for that time of year :thumbsup2. It's such a beautiful resort ♥.

Those crowds are HUGE! I never go when the parks are really, really busy. It's okay because I live here and I can enjoy the lower crowd days but wow ~ I've never seen such thick crowds like that before.

Your dinner looked fun. The Sweet 16 cake is beautiful! What a special day :lovestruc.

Thanks for the update ~ can't wait for more!

Oh, your pics of the castle and decorations makes me really want to go to WDW for the holidays!

Although those crowds make me want to stay away during the holidays! I think an early or mid-November trip might be the thing we do... someday. ;)

But then again, visiting MK on the 30th in order to see both fireworks shows... how cool is that?! Might have to add that to my "Disney Bucket List"! :thumbsup2

:scared1::scared1: oh my gosh!! the WAITS!!! Did you go on anything at all??? or just soak up some atmosphere?

We actually rode more than you would have thought. That year was the "free admission on your birthday" theme, and since we had annual passes we didn't need that, so my daughter took the alternative gift which was a FastPass card good for up to six FPs for most of the major rides. So we used that on her actual birthday day!

The rest of the time we managed to get FPs, or just soaked up the atmosphere. We knew that we'd been before, and would be back in May, so it was more just about celebrating the birthday and enjoying the experience! :goodvibes

Thanks, Kathy! :) The changes are so noticeable when you look at the pictures!

Busy doesn't even begin to describe it! CRAZY was more like it, but you know what? That was probably our favorite trip of all! :thumbsup2

I don't think I've ever seen wait times that long! So many people!

CRAZY CROWDED! But also one of our favorite trips! :)

I know....She (DD) had been asking for years to go to Disney on her birthday, and we would say, "Are you kidding?" :rotfl: But since it was a special one, we gave in!

The cake was beautiful and delicious! GF bakery did an awesome job! :thumbsup2

The crowds are scary, so visiting during November is a good alternative. Disney really is beautiful all decorated for the holidays! :goodvibes

But I do have to say that being there during that time was so much fun--so much excitement in the air. We always say it was probably our favorite trip! I'd love to do it again in a few years!

Wow your December trip looks like so much fun! I can't believe the wait times and the crowds! Still, being there for a birthday AND New Year's eve must be amazing! I really want to go for New Year's someday! :thumbsup2

It was the most fun! :thumbsup2 The crowds were crazy---something pictures just don't do justice to---but it was still so much fun!

You should definitely go in a near future NYE, while it's still just the two of you. :) I think your DH would really enjoy it!

Those crowds are scary looking! :scared1: I would not have been able to handle that at all.

I would love to stay at the BC some day. :lovestruc

Looks like you guys had a great trip (minus the crowds/waits)

Isn't it funny how kids can sleep through anything if they are tired enough. :rotfl:

 Is it bad that I still own all these bags?

Instead of getting rid of them?! Don't be ridiculous!! BTW- You know who to send them to if you ever do decide to get rid of them!:lmao::goodvibes
Sounds like the NYE was super fun, despite the crowds. I was expecting those kinds of crowds at Christmas this past year, but I've never seen lower crowds before EVER!

(Boma)

It was good, and lots of different things to try-But, whew, it was an expensive meal paying out of pocket for 4 adults/1 kid! Is the juice served during breakfast, because we had dinner there. But, you're right, Rachel does love that Poly tropical juice! :thumbsup2

My oldest son loves the tropical juices, too. The juice (Jamba juice, I think) is served at breakfast but I'm pretty sure you can order it at dinner, too. I know you can at Kona, because we definitely did that.

The crowds are not for the faint of heart! :) But we've been enough, that we could just enjoy the atmosphere and not stress about riding this or that!

I'm kind of jealous of a kid's ability to sleep through anything. I wish I had that talent sometimes! ;)

popcorn:: joining in popcorn::

:welcome: Glad you're here!

Yes, Barbara....I know who to send them to! ;)

I went over to your TR, and I can't believe how lucky you guys were as far as the crowds!

What a great, quick, crowded, celebratory December trip!

Good deal on the birthday FP! I'm sure they came in very handy at MK on your daughter's BD. That was a beautiful cake, too!

I'm not surprised about some sleeping going on during the fireworks. I believe you said you were up until 3 am earlier that day! Was it difficult getting him back to the Yacht Club when you were ready to leave?

I will never ever ever complain about wait times again! I had to call Jasmine through so she could see them as I was sure she wouldn't believe they could be that long!

What beautiful pictures and that cake!!! Did it taste as good as it looked?

WHat a fun trip! I was there earlier in the same month--I got out of there by the time those crowds picked up.

How nice to be able to go for your daughters birthday.

We went for Christmas and New Year 2008 and it was amazing. We have been in June, July and August previously and I didn't find it as busy as I thought it would be. My biggest regret is that we didn't get to see the fireworks on NYE. We were staying offsite and my daughter was only 11 weeks old so we were too tired to be in the park all day.

The good thing is that it means we have to go again at that time of year in the future to see them!!:)

We had been out to 3 the night before at MK, and we were in the Studios by 9 that morning, and never left for a break. I was afraid of it closing to capacity.

He actually woke up after the fireworks, and never believed us that he had slept through them! EvMH were at DHS that night until 3 a.m, so yep...We stayed out again! We didn't leave until a little after 2 that morning!

The cake was delicious! Well worth every cent. I would definitely recommend the Grand Floridian's bakery. :thumbsup2

The birthday cake looked wonderful. How did it taste?

Cake was great! The Grand Floridian was great to work with! They even called me Christmas night to confirm details about the cake! :thumbsup2
