Okay, I just had to share our recent experience with DVC pts. I had posted awhile back b/c I had transferred 550 pts towards a cruise, we got cold feet b/c of war, so we had to figure out how we wanted to use these points before next March. I'll admit it may not be the best use of points, BUT WE HAD A TOTALLY AWESOME TIME & I WOULDN'T TRADE IT FOR ANYTHING!!!
So, here's what we did: We have 5 kiddos, so we needed 2 rooms. Started off in Savannah View rooms at the AKL--It was fantastic! We just love that place! Next, we stayed at DTD at the Hilton for cash on Fri/Sat (hey, I do have some sense where points are concerned!). Can't say much for the Hilton, but that's another story. THEN, we checked into 2 rooms at the Yacht Club Concierge!! Not only did we stay concierge for the first time ever, we had the magnificent view overlooking the lighthouse, BW, etc. The concierge staff (especially Travis) were awesome...We felt so pampered. One night we missed the macaroni & cheese b/c we were hunting down my son's runaway shirt at SAB, & Travis showed up at our door w/ HOT mac & cheese that he went over to Cape May to get for us. I thought I would cry at his kindness!
My point to all this is, I am so glad we finally bought into DVC. This may not have been the best use of points theoretically, but this happened to be the trip we decided not to do parks since we were just there over the holidays, so we totally enjoyed our accomodations, pool-hopping to GF, BW, & Poly, & just relaxing! It has to be one of our most special & memorable trips, and we never would have experienced these things if it weren't for the pts. I'm also happy to say that even with the splurge, we already have our trip "home" scheduled for next June (& I didn't even have to borrow pts
) when my oldest daughter will be marching down Main Street USA w/ her dance team. I love DVC!!!
