I have been monitoring airfare to Fort Lauderdale this fall. Prices have been so inflated. I could actually fly from the east coast to the west coast at a cheaper price than to fly to Florida from the north east coast.

About a month ago there was a news report that airfare was going to go down starting Aug 20 for Fall travel due to low plane purchases. I thought I would wait it out and see. Yesterday was my drop dead date though, I didn't feel that I could risk waiting any longer.

Not seeing much difference, I finally broke down and bought a couple of Jet Blue tickets for $350 a piece!!! So crazy. In 2009, I paid $170.....I could have bought the same amount for a family of four at that rate.

Today what comes in my email box???? 20% and 10% discounts on all Jet Blue flights with the special promo code! Of course this promo is during the time that I would have flown. And of course it cannot be used on prior purchases.

So instead of crying at my bad luck:
why waste the tears?

I got the same email, but had bought my Sept tickets when they were first released. Even with the 20% of, I still paid about 200 less. In your situation, since you just bought yesterday, maybe they will be able to apply the discount. Wouldn't hurt to call & ask. Good luck!

I'd call jet blue. You're still within the 24 hour cancel without penalty window. They might be able to cancel your old ressie and rebook it with the coupon. It's worth the call.....
