Maybe a little strange, but

I want to be cremated but not sure what I want done with my ashes. I have my mother's ashes in a basket with her picture on it and I like having them. Don't care if they have a service or not.

If I were going to be buried I love the idea of having the casket signed, what a great way to go.

I have told my DH if I go first he should put my ashes on the night stand so I'll be there to watch him with his next wife. :lmao: Cause he can get married again but I have to remain his favorite wife. ;)

Interesting thread. I have been thinking a lot about this lately.
I guess because we all have to go sometime. My mom is 85, almost 86 and already has her funeral planned.
When I told her I was going to be cremated, she shuddered and said, "I could not stand to be burned up." This is a woman that has her nursing home room at a cool 88 degrees!!

Here in Ohio it is not required that you be embalmed, which is good.
I want a simple have the family see that I am gone...say what they want to me, and then send me off to be cremated.
I do not want to be buried in the cold ground. It just makes more sense to me to do that.
I, like another poster, love that song, "When I get where I'm going." Always makes me think that there is a better place. No, not Disneyworld, but close!
LOL!!

I think it is good to plan out this stuff so you get what you want.

Good for all of us for knowing how to plan ahead....way ahead...cause none of us are going anywhere yet.

I am very sorry for your loss. I am a 35 year old mother myself, so I can imagine how hard this must be. I have told my husband and my sisters that when I die I do not want an open casket, I want it closed, with a large picture of myself behind the casket. I want photos of myself and my girls. I know this is a very morbid topic, but it does need to be discussed. My mother passed away when I was 19, and I often wondered if we did the right thing with her arrangements, I wish she had told us what she would have wanted.
