May Weight Loss Challenge - Getting Ready for Summer!

I just weighed in this morning and am down .6. Of course more would have been great, but the tortoise wins the race right?
 
Feeling much better this week with the eyes and I have energy, so time to move on. Weight is pretty much the same, up a bit but most of that is the fact that I didn't take in enough water in the last week. But I still have plenty of time to take off more this month.

Wgilley - it is never too late to join. How many lbs would you like to take off by the end of May and I will update the first post. Losing 20 by July could happen, but you must really work to get that. Remember an average of 2 lbs a week is safe. However, it is not all about the number on the scale. If you workout, you will tone alot of muscle and it is very possible to lose a few sizes just in toning even when the scale hasn't moved much. Good luck.

I have lost 1 lb as well. I guess I should change my goal to 3 lbs for the month of May, that would put me at 172 (and I would be very happy with that) and then try for another 4 in June.

Sign me up I lost 3 pounds this week. I will be walking saturday but if the rains I will walk indoors at a local mall
 
I lost 1lb this week and am at 166.2 :)

10lbs goal/2.6 total loss= 7.4 to go

2 weeks to lose 7.4 -yikes, but I'm not giving up. Maybe I'll have a biggie next week :)
 
I can hardly believe it, but the scale says i lost 3.6 lbs this week:woohoo: That means I've lost 4.2 in May and that exceeds my monthly goal. I guess I'm changing my goal to 6 lbs:rotfl:. I did make a couple of changes. I realized I'm leaving for my trip in about 4 weeks and needed to get serious so my clothes are loose enough to accomodate the Disney Dining Plan:lmao: I was pretty good about food and eliminated those pesky carb loaded snacks. I think what made the real difference was I exercised 5 days instead of just 3. I'm definitely going to keep that up:thumbsup2 Anyway, since this week was so good, I'm sure next week will be a samer or down .5 lb, :rolleyes1 but I'm going to keep chugging along.

Great weight loss everyone!!! I lost .8 this week. Which takes me to 2 for May so far. I may not make that 5 lbs loss! But I'm feeling great about my effort level. I even ran a 5k yesterday while pushing my 2 year old in a stroller. Now the question is: can I be good today? Oooo, today may be tricky.

But overall, I'm doing great and I'm going to be as good as possible today too.
 
Last week was a badddd week. I gained over 3 pounds. Of that I lost 1.6 pounds. So I doubt that I'll make this months goal. However I am still hoping to lose the additional 2 pounds that I gained.
 
I know I'm jumping in a little late here, but need to get my rear in gear. I have an Alaskan cruise in June and then a trip to WDW in November. I started losing weight last summer...the past few months I just kinda gave up, but thankfully only gained back a couple pounds...and now I'm ready to get back in the groove of things.

Put me down for 4 by the end of May, please.

Thanks for the shout out! It looks like you are chugging along in your weight loss as well. I really do think slow and steady wins the race. I think that makes it easier to keep off. I actually got on the scale this morning and it says I'm a pound more than yesterday morning. I suspected that 3+ was a bit too much:confused3 I just keep trying to make sure the trend is downward not upward and figure eventually I'll get there.

Great effort everyone. Let's keep going.:cheer2:

I have lost .4 lbs this week, which is good since food has been off, but I have been very busy running around which helps.

I've been working on losing those 3 pounds that I gained (too much ff due to crazy work schedule) and so far I have lost 2.1 of it. So I am pretty happy. Even if I only lose those 3 pounds this month then I will be pleased ;)

After this mornings workout I have lost a total of 2.6 pounds of the 3 that were gained!! I'm pleased with this weeks accomplishments so far :)
 
Despite having what I thought was a STELLAR week I only squeaked out a .2 loss this week. I think my calories were too low and steady this week. On Tuesday my scale was 1 pound down and then back up the last two days.

I'm used to having a few higher calorie days a few lower calorie days and a few that are middle of the road throughout the week. We have a wedding tomorrow and since I had no idea what will be served I decided to be very strict this week. My calories ranged from 1185-1430 (rough numbers going off memory). Mostly they were 1200-1300 as an average for the week. My body didn't like it at all. Last night I ate a little extra and I'm having Thai for lunch today. I think these 3 higher days will help me next week.

So it's a lesson learned.

I'm at 166.0 today (.2 loss this week) -2.8 total loss.

I'm thinking 5 lbs is going to be more realistic as a total loss next week - but I'm keeping on trudging.

Melanie, I have those weeks too. You think that you did fantastic. You watched what you ate, exercised, and either hte scale barely budges or it goes in the worng direction. In the end you are left trying to figure out what went wrong? While you only lost .2 you still lost. The fact that you made the concious decisions that you made are goos too. Don't feel discouraged by what the scale says, it's not the only measure of your week. It's also how you feel about your choices that counts.


I'm down another .2, so 2.8 lbs! Small increment but it's the way that I wanted it to go.
 
I lost another pound this week! 5.2 for the month so far! I was excited to see a whole pound. I thought after last week's great week, I'd be lucky to lose any! Keep chugging along everyone. You're all doing great. One more week to go:cheer2:
 
Went up some more the other day (bad snacking/eating the day before)! But down 1.3 today :cool1:

I'm down 1.8 this week - so 4.6 for the month so far. This is my end of month WI since my official WI is on Friday's.

So it's not 10 - but it's almost half. 4.6 hopefully gone forever :)
 
Ok so I have only lost another pound which makes a total for two for this month. Atleast I am less this month than what I started. However, I have really been lacking enery and hopefully that changes soon.
