May trip and Dec trip

We're waiting to get into the DVC system. Our resale has closed and we should be in the system hopefully will be the end of this week. We're thinking about going to Hilton Head or staying at WDW for the Flower and Garden show in May. We've never been to Hilton Head or to the flower and garden show, so I'm looking for some pros and cons to each.

Also, booking a one bedroom for the 1st, 2nd or 3rd week of December at BWV (home resort) for December, do I have a chance? When I called to check on if we were in the system, I felt like I was bothering the CM and she didn't want to give me any clue when I'd be in the system. "We're so busy and the people responsible for manually input re-sales are on the phone a lot these days." Sorry had to event a little after my first experience.

January is probably the busiest month for Member Services and Member Accounting, they are dealing with dues, December Reservations and 4th of July reservations.

As far as your trips, you may have to go on a waitlist for your BWV reservations, especially if you want a less expensive standard view room. The entire month of December books up pretty rapidly, especially at the smaller resorts. Given the WDW Christmas decorations, and the lower points required early in the month, then the major holiday travel period, it is a very popular DVC time and they really book up quickly.

For Flower and Garden, you will likely find availability at OKW or SSR, you may find some availabiity at the EPCOT area resorts if you get lucky.

I called HH a few weeks ago about giving my parents a week there in may, they had no full weeks available for a one bedroom....the middle of the weeks were booked and would have been waitlisted. That was true for the whole month. I didn't ask about studios or 2 bedroom units though.

Maybe you can get it, or just waitlist for it?

We stayed at SSR last May. We love the Flower and Garden show. In fact, I have been there so many times that when I went last September (BWV), Epcot looked like it was missing something. The flowers or so beautiful!
