I need some input on whether we should book our WDW trip for May or November (before Thanksgiving.) Any suggests on why or why not for either month?

I think it depends on what you want. Before Thanksgiving it will not be value season so if you are staying on site then it will cost more.
We went this past year the week before Thanksgiving and we loved it. The crowds were low until the weekend before thanksgiving. ( It was value season last year.)

May is going to be warmer and I really don't know about the crowds but it will be value season.
We are going the last week in April and we are expecting higher crowds than we saw in Nov since it is still Spring break time.
I hear that May can be a good time to go.... I'm sure many more will come on here and give you some better advice.

I voted for May. It's our favorite month to go too.

On our previous trips we've gone in April, waaaay busy. Last year we were there end of April into May and we liked it much better.

Just kinda depends on what time of year you want to go. We are so busy around Oct/Nov/Dec that we couldn't get away for a vacation even if we wanted to.

We like going in May because it gives us something to help chase away the winter blahs, something to look forward to when the Christmas magic is over.

Either way, you'll have a wonderful time :flower1:

:cool1: If everything works out correctly we will be going in May & November, but we will arrive Thanksgiving Day. :flower1:

Normally I would be saying May, but that is the beginning of the 50th Aniversary of Disneyland Celebration, also the time of the Flower and Garden show in Epcot, and you have Mother's Day thrown in, as well. Also, it is regular season.

However, ifyou play your cards right, you can go in November and enjoy Value season resort prices, the Celebration won't be "brand new", and you will still be able to catch the tail end of the Food and Wine Festival.

HMMMM... Flowers... Food...Flowers.... Food ...... :confused3

Think I have to go with the Food this time!

Eeyore  Thank you for your input on our pending trips. I have also thought about the crowds in May. Did not even think about Mothers Day? I'll have to check out what Sunday it is.

Now I don't know, DH is now saying that he doesn't want to go to WDW twice in one year. :earseek: We live out west and it takes us just about a whole day to go and another coming back. Plus, we sure don't ever see any $99 fares with Southwest out here. :guilty: So I just don't know!

We have ressies to arrive Thanksgiving day and stay thru the next week. So I can live if we can still to that trip. The other problem is we have AP that expire in October. Is there any ideas or suggestions on the Thanksgiving time frame? Where to eat, what to stay away from due to crowds? What we should do?

Thank you in advance. :wizard:

Disnee Dad Says...................................................If you have an AP expireing in October, is there any chance you can go in October before it expires?

Also, if you can go the week before Thanksgiving and leave the weekend before Thanksgiving you have the park to yourself! Almost. Acouple months after 9/11 we went to wdw. We did our Fantasyland dash and hit all rides in an hour. BTW this works anytime of the year. We headed to Splash and when we turned the corner to Frontierland we came to a stop. The park had been open an hour and as far up the path as we could see, we saw about 25 people.

It will be more crowded now, but will still be very light.

May is the best time to go. We went the last week of April last year. It was perfect. The lines were not that long for the attractions and the bus. The weather was great to. Not to hot and not cold either. :flower:

May is great time of year to go. Our first trip to DW we went in May and the lines were not long and the weather was GREAT!!! We are going again this May 14th to 23rd, can't wait.

Thanks for all the info. It looks like it was pretty close but, money willing, we are going to try to May. I am hoping some codes will come out soon.

I also plan to go to WDW in May, but I don't know if I should go beginning, mid or end of may? Or maybe I go end of april to Disney and beginning of may to Universal (when Celebration@disney starts)

When starts holiday for students in May??? 23rd???

I voted for May too. It's great weather then, crowd levels aren't overwhelming and you have plenty of celebrations...this year, the Happiest Homecoming beginning May 5th with 3 new attractions; the Flower and Garden festival at EPCOT is in full swing :flower1: with great concerts in the American Pavillion; and Star Wars weekends at MGM usually begins the 2nd weekend of May and runs through June (maybe it will be bigger this year because the last of the "Star Wars" movies is being released at that time?).
Have fun planning, no matter what you decide!!!

We went that time of the year in 2003. No crowds the first part of the week, but it got worse as the week wore on. I suspect it was the Columbus Day holiday that pumped up the crowd levels, as well as the opening of Wishes and Mission Space. Very humid and hot. Only had one evening rain shower all week.

May is nice....not that many people...all the school breaks are over

November is nice also... We had stayed at Carribean Beach, and thanksgiving morning we we listening to funky christmas music...

i think i much prefer may, it warmer and can do things before it gets too busy

my parent love decemberfor the osborne lights and christmas processional
