may newbie help!

hi - have friends heading to DLR in May who have asked for planning help, as we go quite regularly. However, we have never been in May. First suggestions were to extend stay to three days (from two), and to move off Memorial Day weekend to the other end of their vacation - end of the same week though, and they will still be there thurs Fri Sat, just not Memorial Fri sat!

Now, am about to suggest that they go to DLR for Thurs Fri, use their one EE/MM, and then do DCA Sat (they leave late Sat pm). (I will of course pass on all Fp/hydroguy type info/maybe even ridemax). They may be able to park hop Friday, once they get the hang of things as well.

Any more helpful suggestions? They will not be familiar with "BUSY" so it all might be a bit of a shock, and I would like them to have a good time. They have two grade school kids, no need to hav sleeps or skip rides due to fear, height etc. Anything you can add would be great!

I agree that 3 days are better than 2 days.

On the dates, I'm a little confused. Which dates (& days of week) are they visiting?

If visiting Thur/Fri/Sat, they can use their "one MM privilidge" on Thursday or Saturday. (Where are they staying?)

Aside from reading HydroGuy's Tip Threads, the biggest pieces of advice is to:

- get to DL (each day) 30-40 min. prior to opening.
- tour & collect FPs at DL for 2-4 hours.
- park hop to DCA EACH DAY.
- Have a mid day rest.
- Back to DL in the late afternoon / evening with 3-5 FPs in your pocket (collected that morning).

Tell them to have a great time at Walt's Park.

Thanks for the reply! They will be visiting the Thursday, Friday Saturday following memorial day weekend, staying Hojo.

My thoughts were that they should use their MM Thursday, and do the Fantasyland run. Also thought they could hit Dl again Friday, esp if they wanted to get on board the subs, and park hop that day if they felt confident (it's easy to forget how complicated the whole thing seems to a new person, but after a day i think they will have the layout/FP thing down)

Saturday could then be DCA (they'll have to check out in the morning, so htough the could take advantage of the later start)- what's preferred strategy with TSM? Ride Soaring at 9.30 then head over?, grab Soaring Fp then head over and ride ?...or grab soarin pass, head to Tot, ride, then pick up TSm Fp next (whilst hanging around CS?)? (They will be leaving late Sat afternoon) I understand GRR is now connected.

I'd hate to put them wrong...
