Welcome to the cruise Rayna, Claudy and daughter! What a great cruise to pick as your first. :thumbsup2

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them. There are a lot of experienced Disney cruisers on board that are more than happy to help fellow guests. :grouphug:

Thank you so much Jeff. I have spent the last few weeks reading many of the posts, trip reports, and websites (including yours) of the many DCL veterans. I am so impresssed by the amount of information, knowledge and willingness to share!

Happy travels to you and your family. :)

I am getting really excited about this cruise!!! It it silly if I were to start packing already?! :dance3: I received the packing cubes today!!!:banana::banana::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hello fellow cruisers!!!! We are soooo excited!!! Only about 6 weeks for our adventure!!! :woohoo: I have a few questions in preparation for our FE gift exchange... Do you have like a list of how many adults, kids, etc... are in total? Also, I am thinking on doing some personalized items, do you have kids names? :thumbsup2
Another question, do you have any ideas for door decorations?
Any other "tip" will be great!!!
We already book shore excursions directly with Disney and I noticed some of you did so I'm looking forward to meet you all!!! :grouphug:

Regards!!!!!!!!!!

Hello all! It's been a while since I've been able to read all the posts (I had a lot of reading to do), but I am soooooo excited for all of you getting some great upgrades!! Woohoo!! My fiance Ricky and I booked the Disney cruise for our upcoming honeymoon. We booked a Cat. 12 and just found out today that we got assigned to a Cat. 11. There goes the "honeymoon upgrade" theory... Not what we were hoping for, but better than nothing, so we're not going to complain! :) At least we're still on the cruise!!!!!! Woohoo! Congrats again to everyone on your upgrades, and good luck to the rest of ya still waiting for your rooms! We look forward to being on board will you all soon! Blessings...

We are the same cat 12 to 11....could have been better but i am happy to just be going on holiday:banana: Didn't want a verrander as have been having a recurring dream about the kids opening it at night when i am sleepimg:scared1: Congrats to all who have had fab uprades....roll on May...
Yeah, finally got our room....#6143.
Cat 12 to 11.....no window but it looks like it's in a good area. :goodvibes
We're so excited...don't know if I can wait a month and a half. :dance3:

Last cruise someone told me it was by order of booking date or paid in full date. I do not know if that is true.

I don't think this is true. I booked on 16 March 2010 and paid on 16 March 2010, and received my stateroom with upgrade on Monday morning. I booked a Cat 6 and received a Cat 4, we are now in stateroom 8010.

Can't wait to go on this cruise.

Good luck to everyone out there who haven't received theirs yet.

I noticed several of the other Med cruises are doing lanyards with the acrylic badgeholders & name tags for the DISers so they'll be able to recognize each other on the cruise. Those that have cruised with Disney before are Castaway Club members and will get DCL lanyards/acrylic holders during the embarkation process.

For new DCL cruisers, plain lanyards and badgeholders are about 50 cents total US if 100 are ordered. We could take one of the designs tripodjw created and modify it a little to put people's DIS board name and first name on it.

Sooooo...what do you all think? Name tags, lanyards, yes/no?

I'm interested.

Welcome to all the new cruisers!:dance3:

Andgon, I made a list a few pages back on all FE participants but I think there have been additions since then. It might give you an idea. There are about 20 kids on the list. The names are on the first page on the roll call. I have planned on one gift for each family already. Although I am not sure there has been a final group decision on breaking up the group or one big happy group.

Looks like most of us will be on deck 6...paaar-tah!:cool1::lmao:

Jeff, have a great trip! Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!! (Froehe Ostern!)

We are headed out this afternoon for our French wine adventure trip. :woohoo: I look forward to catching up when we get back.

Hi all, I need some help on Tunisia not really sure what to do, I don’t really fancy any of the Disney excursions, so i was just wondering what everyone was up to that isn’t doing a planed trips. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Also someone earlier on in this thread suggested doing Rome on the train as a group is anyone still up for this?

Jeff, I think the Lanyard idea is brilliant and I would be willing to fit some of the bill to do it. We could hand them out at our first meet. Could they be done in time? I need to begin working on my FE hanger.
A special congrats to all that got upgrades. I wish I would have known about the GTY thing before I booked my inlaws room but we wanted them near us so maybe it wouldn't have worked anyway. On a warmer note... Its supposed to get to 81 degrees this weekend in Tennessee!:dance3: Only 41 more days before we leave for Barcelona!
Im still battling back and forth about what to do in corsica. Does anyone know anything about Les Calanches? It sounds amazing but I have a 7 and 9 year old and Im not sure they will appriciate it as well. We thought about taking the petite train then hanging out at the beach but its late may and the weather may be too cool for a beach trip. Also, is this the same petite train on the corsica link as the Disney link? It looks like the one on the corsica link travels through town and the Disney one travels through the country side. Disney's also has a wine tasting stop. Any advice would be great.
I finally sat down with my Father in law and showed him the DIS board but I dont think we is planning on regularly checking up. There names are Larry and Bobi.

On another note, Susan and I are hitting the road tomorrow to make our way to Orlando, FL for the Space Flight Honoree ceremony Friday night, Kennedy Space Center tours on Saturday, day off Sunday (Easter) (WDW perhaps?) and then STS-131 launch Monday morning (knock on wood). I'll be checking in from time to time though. :)

Have a great trip!

Also someone earlier on in this thread suggested doing Rome on the train as a group is anyone still up for this?

We are. Maybe those interested in taking the train on our own to Rome can all meet at, say 7:30 am, in front of Lumiere's and head out together? We have a tour booked at Vatican in the afternoon but other than that, our day is wide open. Probably hitting the Colosseum and Forum in the morning.

Two thumbs up on the lanyard/name tag idea. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We did this on our last cruise and the lanyard does stand out. The lady that organized it put our Disname and our actual name so it was easier for people to connect who's who. She handed them out at the terminal and also at the Dismeet.

Joanne,

I thought the DIY write-up on Tom Ogg's Eport Reviews for Tunis was well done. Here's the direct link to the write-up. The general link to Tom's site is on the Links tab of the web site and there are similar write-ups, with photos, for most, if not all, of the ports we're visiting. As for us, we're doing out 1 and only DCL tour here (4x4 safari).

We were allocated room 5629 - Deck 5, Cat 11 at the rear of the ship.

We had a room 2 doors down from there last yr, it's a really nice part of the ship. Dead quiet and close to aft elevators. And well situated between decks 3 and 4 for restaurants/shops/theatres and deck 9 for the pools etc.

Hello Jeff,

You come up with the best ideas. Yes, we'd be interested in this. Looks like there is a lot of interest in this on the discussion board.

FE sign up deadline is 15 April, so we'll have final details at that point - whihc i will forward to all FE particpants on the 16th April.

In the next few days i will be checking what info we are still missing and get that for the list (including names where they are missing). Thought obviously some people may not want their kids names sent out.

Just caught up with the posts.

Am up for the lanyards and happy to contribute (cost and effort).

Congrats again for all the upgrades.

I'm about to update the page 1 roll call and FE lists. Once they are updated let me know if i've missed anything.

As i've mentioned above i'll be in touch with the FE participants by PM soon to get any missing info. if anyone wants their room no. or kids names kept off this thread i will keep a master FE list at home and forward it out by PM on April 16th to each participant.
