I'm so glad you will be on our flight! Maybe we can find a nice Philly person to deliver a few Shortis, a WaWa coffee and maybe a pretzel or two! :rotfl2:
Always glad to meet a fellow Floridian who can do the whole trip with a carryon. We actually live in Port St Lucie but we also have a condo a mile outside the maingates so leaving out of Orlando is very convenient.

Stlucielady,

If you get desperate, I can call some of my co-workers in my Philly office and I can send you "Philly" provisions! Our other office is in Mt Laurel, NJ and I know that I can ship Tastycakes. :)

Hi Jen and Martin! Are you on the same flight too?

Hi! No, we're actually sailing across on Royal's Adventure of the Seas. This will be our first TA and our first b2b and we couldn't resist the price plus we arrive in Barcelona right on the 15th so we get to just walk over to the Magic! :yay: We are staying a night in Barcelona and flying back the 27th at 10:30 via Philly.

Just wanted to stop in and say "hi y'all". Hubby and I just booked this cruise last weekend (leave it to us to put something this big together last minute). We are flying in on the day of the cruise, and then spending three days in Paris before flying back to the US.

We booked a cat 12 gty - believe it or not, for cheaper than if we had used DVC points. The airfare is the killer for us. :upsidedow

BTW, Jeff Spencer, we're in Madison, AL too! Small world! Hubby and I are computer nerds, working for government contractors in Huntsville. Are you flying out of HSV, BHM, or BNA? Or elsewhere? We're flying out of BHM because we have to drop the dog off with my parents in T-town before we leave.

I have a tip for you folks who need a porthole to wake up in the mornings. We were in a cat 10 on our last cruise, so no porthole. We turned the TV on to the ship's camera before we went to bed, and the screen was black. As the sun rose, the TV got brighter. It was our little pretend window to the outside world, and it worked great as a gauge to how early/late it was. We still needed a wakeup call on port days, but it kept us from sleeping til noon on sea days.

:welcome: aboard

The TV tip is a great one, we discovered it about half way through our last trip. We found it was sometimes a little too bright too early, and found you can simulate drapes across the window by hanging a thin t-shirt over the tv.

Hey there thecooley and welcome aboard! Wow, it is a small world...another cruiser from Madison. :)

We're flying out of HSV on American, through Chicago, to New York City and then to BCN. In just over 2 months, we'll be on the Med. :cool1:

AlohaJoe, the Corsica adventure stuff sounds good to me. I know my wife won't have anything to do with zip lines or anything else that involves her dangling precariously in thin air. Don't know about my son or daughter. Right now, we really have nothing planned for Corsica except a self-tour of Ajaccio.

No, lol, there are still a few of us around :-) Glad to see there are other solo travelers aboard also. Sticking with the Disney offered excursions except for Corsica and not sure what to do there. Did I read there is a zip line adventure there?

I'm heading out to WDW next weekend for spring break with my little sister. :cool1: Anyone want me to pick them up anything?

Yes we believe there is a place with 5 zip lines. It was talked about as a port option under Corsica on the cruisecritic port sites. I have found two in Corsica with the one I posted about being the close one and the one I think was used by some cruise company. The website is all in French so not completely sure of what I have found.

In all of my web-surfing I have found there are about a dozen of these rope course places around the world in different forests.

Here is a youtube video of what I think it is like. This place appears to be on other side of Corsica. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBJqLrS-5v8 This is what I think the place is like. There are lots of pictures on the website in Vero of both the rope courses and the canyoning options.

They do give a couple euros off each person for groups of 15 or more so if we want to organize our own excursion we might all benefit.

I found a car for $122 that rents to 21 year olds so I can have my son drive and I can actually see the scenery. If we have time we will come back down through the Prunelli gorge.

Depending on time we could try and find the nougat store or the winery.

The bus leaves from down to airport at 7:30 and 8:30 and 9:40 at least it is supposed to. If we shared cabs it might be about the same price per person I don't know. I am pretty sure we would want to have a cab waiting for us at the airport at 4:00 to make sure we were back to the boat by 5:00.

I haven't found a car company that will bring car to port like in Malta. This is all a little harder not speaking French. But afterall its the adventure of it all that makes it memorable and hopefully fun.

AlohaJoe, my son and husband would love to do the rope course and zip lines. I can't seem to find any info on it.:confused3

Totally off topic and unrelated to generally cruising except as the shrinking of my souvenier budget but I had share the new addition to my family.

My very own 1966 Mustang convertible!!!!!!!!!:yay::yay::yay:

It needs a lot of love but she's mine. Get to go pick her up tomorrow.

Thanks for letting me share my excitement and back to your regular scheduled cruise planning. :)

Congrats, but you have to post a picture.

BTW, the fellow who owns the airport where I keep my Cessna had his 66 Mustang convertible completely redone and after 2 years being away he got it back 3 weeks ago. It is amazing! I immediately jumped on ebay to look around and see what was out there I was so envious.

I'll have pictures tomorrow. I didn't have time to swing by the house to get my digital camera. My boss saw it posted at Craigslist (he is also a car nut) and told me about it then he gave me the afternoon off to drive down to Colorado Springs to see it. He is going to help me pick it up tomorrow. :) I got a heck of a deal on it....I could probably relist it tomorrow and make at least $2k.

Awwww, I love Mt Laurel! We get basic Tastykakes here but not the seasonal interesting ones or the pies. Yum! I really miss WaWa the most. They were on there way to Florida but the recessions put that on hold. Darn recession.:sad2:

I live in NJ and we have WaWa's (I pass probably 4 on the way to work)maybe I will stop on the way to the airport to pick some WaWa goodies up! I work for a company that deals a lot with HSN which is based in St. Pete and one lady that works there used to live in Philly so she always tells me how much she loves and misses WaWa...well whenever I send overnight packages to her I go and pick up some pretzels and ground coffee and throw it in the box! She LOVES me for that! I can honestly say I dont know what I would do without WaWa!

I love those Mickey ice cream bars but I don't think they travel well. :)

Oh Jeff those are my FAVORITE! I crave them more than anything else...haha. To top it off my cousin works for Disney and my best friend lives down the street from Downtown Disney so they are constantly sending me pictures of them eating one! Pure torture I tell you!

So I finally got around to catching up on the boards tonight and I had 10 pages to go thru! Why do we all have to get a long so well...haha. I am really looking forward to this cruise and I still dont think it really hit me yet.....

Lucky You, we skipped traveling during spring break last week for the first time in 12 years, won't do that again. We are however planning a Christmas Season WDW trip this December with my sister and family from California - have never done Christmas Time.
