Thanks Jane for all the info :) The flights were booked as one trip, so hopefully that will work to our advantage (and I will call to make sure). What about the time frame I mentioned? Only 53 minutes from our plane to the international one....should I be worried?? Anne

Anne, I agree with Jill. I wouldn't think that it is a 'legal' connection time. I would be more worried about delays. If your flight is delayed by even 10 minutes you would be trouble.:scared:

I got mine for $8.95 on Amazon but I have also seen it at Barnes and Noble so I'm sure most bookstores would have it.

Im thinking of doing the metro as well. Im going to get his book today to flip through it. Trying to save some $$$ early in the trip so we can enjoy the latter part without pinching the belt.

It looks like Genna and I will be celebrating on the ship. We just got an email from the Timeshare Store and Disney have waived the ROFR for our 200pt contract at SSR . It looks like we will be DVC owners in time for the cruise, hopefully we will be able to get a 'welcome home' magnet on our door :banana::banana:

Congrats!!! Nothing makes my husband and I happier than hearing cast members say, 'Welcome home!'. Sounds silly but makes us feel so good!:wizard:

I agree too. 53 minutes doesn't seem very long.

Atlanta is a "big" airport. There's a little underground shuttle between concourses and i would bet that you'll be travelling between concourses. I seem to remember from the two furthest pints the underground shuttle itself took about 5 mins (and that's only the shuttle itself, no waiting time)

If you are unlucky and have the two furthest points i'd say at a good walking pace its 15-20 minutes from incoming gate to outgoing gate. In my experience of international flights - gates typically close 30 mins before flight time.

So i think 53 minutes is doable but is really cutting it close if there's any kind of delay (for example delayed plane, underground shuttle breakdown, big crowds).

At the end of the cruise, we are heading to the Barcelona airport to head to Moscow. We have a party of five, and are not signed up for any Disney ground transportation. Any suggestions for the best way to get a party of five from the dock to the airport? Are there any mini-van taxis like we have in the states? Can we arrange transportation via Disney to teh airport, and at what cost? Any tips/guidance appreciated.

I've sent reminder PM's today (Tuesday) to those who haven't yet responded regarding final details for the FE.

Please take the time to read the PM and respond - it'll make the FE easier for everyone (me and all participants) if i get the answers to the questions.

I will be splitting the list and sending it out on 16 April so if i don't have the responses by the end of 15 April (I'll go by Pacific time) it will be too late to add any info.

If you're struggling to send a PM - please just pop your answers up in this thread and i'll find them here.

Thanks guys...:thumbsup2

I've sent you a PM today. Sent one the other day, wondering now if my PM isn't working because I haven't received responses to others that I haven't sent. Just incase you don't get the PM:

1. We are celebrating our 16th Anniversary and DH 45th Birthday
2. No special needs
3. We do not intend to upgrade at the port
4. I'm obviously a Dopey Fan, DH is just a flat out Disney Fan, and DD loves the usual (Princesses, Tinkerbell, and Minnie Mouse)

Thanks for putting all this together for us.:worship:

:cool1::yay::cheer2: Doing the happy dance!!!! Got my cruise documents today. So much for not getting our documents at an APO.

:dance3::dance3:

32 Days and counting

Mini van taxis seem pretty rare in Europe - unless you book in advance. I don't have any recommendations sorry as i am planning on jumping in a regular cab (there's only 2 of us)

You'll definately need a minivan or two taxis with 5 people and luggage.

DCL transport can be booked one way - cost is about $35-40 per person i think -so even two taxis will probably work out cheaper

Our thoughts exactly!! By the time we get to the hotel it will probably be close to noon once we head into the city so we figure we only really have half a day to sightsee in Barcelona. Metro seems pretty easy so we will be using that for the day. Plus our Holiday Inn is just a couple blocks from the nearest station.

We are a group of 7 and pre-arranged large vans in Barcelona from the Irport to hotel and port to airport. I'm not sure of the company right now but I'll check with my mom.

What I know is that we arrive at 7:45 am, and If you take the 7:59 am train from Civitavecchia (not easy but not impossible), you arrive to Roma San Pietro station at 8:53 am. Next train is al 8:41 am which leaves you at Roma San Pietro station at 9:24 am. So, if the worst comes to the worst, you will have more than half an hour to walk from the train station to Vatican museum.

Thanks, I've looked up the information and it looks like I can't buy the tickets online, so I will have to wait until we get to the station to buy the tickets. So I guess we will be taking hte 8:41 train and walk over to the museum, we should make it in with a minute or two to spare, will be cutting it close, but I think we can make it.

Yes, no problem adding anyone but I need you to PM me both full names and reservation numbers. The concierge will then attatch your reservation for the wine tasting to your room charge. The expense will be $15/person. Just include the full name of each person and the reservation number for your room.

Is anyone arriving in Barcelona early? My family plans on getting to Barcelona 2.5 days early and we are starting to plan precruise events. We are staying in a hotel near Montjuice (sp). We get in early in the morning on Thursday and thought we would get to the hotel, kick back and tour the spanish village and the fountains that night. The next day we thought we would do the hop on hop off to visit the cathedrals and Gaudi and Picaso sites. Finally on Saturday we thought we would check in to the ship and then go to the aquarium with the kids. Just curious what other people were doing if getting there early. Barcelona is apparently one of the most beautiful ports and I would hate to miss anything there. Im starting to get extremely excited about the trip!

We fly from Boston on May 11th and arriving in Barcelona on may 12th (change planes in Madrid). We are staying at the Eurostar Grand Marina.
Are plans are to visit Proble Espanyol on May 12th (already purchased tickets). Then we have a private Barcelona City tour (4 hours) for May 13th. Then we are going to The Tablao De Carmen to see a Flamenco show.
May 14th, is Montserrat private tour (5 hours).

Cannot wait for the trip!!!! :worship:

I do not know how well the following companies are but this is what I've come across in our research.

Congrats, and welcome home! DVC is great.

Hopefully we'll have a welcome home magnet too, but we paid cash for the cruise, so I don't know if they will know we are members. Anyone had this experience?

We paid cash for our TA cruise and still got the welcome home magnets. However, I cannot remember if they were put on our door or if we got them at teh member mixer (with our red hats).

Thanks. I think you probably have enough posts to send PM's now (i think it is 10). So ironically by posting the info you became eligible to send a PM.

Oh well, thanks for posting it.

We got the magnet on the door of our last cruise. We paid cash not points. Go to all the DVC meets onboard. They have some great info and you can win prizes! Who doesn't like FREE stuff! :)
