May have points to rent??Questions

I've been a DVC member for 24 hours now. Bought into BWV 310 points. My use year is August to July.....so with this contract I have 310 points to use by July 31st or bank them by January 31st, or at least 50% by at least April I think.
Our family is already gone for some of June so we may not be able to use all the points. I also do not need 620 points on August 1st.
My questions are how do DVC owners rent there points. Correct me if I'm wrong
1. Check availability for the renters request.
2. Book the reservation using my account number but the renters name and information.
3. Payment....
4. I'm assuming that all conformations will come to me so I would forward them onto the renters.
5. Complete??
How do most gain payment?? The only thing that scares me are cancellations where my points go into that holding account which have to be used by year use year end..

Fellow DVCer here..........You may want to ask this question on the DVC Board instead of the Rent/Trade Board. I would think most people over here are looking to rent. I wish I could help, but I've not rented my pts out or rented from anyone. I usually have a problem needing more pts (borrowing my pts from the next yr)! I just came over here to see if there were any good deals today, as we are going to DL in Feb and staying offsite, but was thinking about staying on site by possibly renting some pts.....it's hard to justify paying $250/night for just my son and I on this short 4 day trip.

OK,This is what I do.I check availibility and then if they want me to book,I do that then I request 50% when I give them the confirmation # and the other 60 days from date of travel.I do not give refunds,but I will reschedule for them if they cancel less than 31 days from aerrival your points will go into holding and they can only be booked 60 days out.
I use paypsl or cashiers check.

If I borrow points to make the reservation I reqest all the money when I give them a confirmation #.

Do you book using you membership # but give there name and info??

Yes you use your # and their info.It is really easy once you get the hang of it.I have rented quite a few times.But I dont rent as much now.We have been taking alot of friends and family so the points dont go as far .I did just rent to someone,But the reason I did is I am needing to rent VWL points for December,and I wanted to make up the money.

I just booked a week for my brother.

The did ask for all the names in his party. They did not ask for his address.
I did inquire if my brother would receive any confirmation the answer being "no". Confirmation letter/email goes to the member and I would forward it to him. If my brother wanted to change anything about the reservation, I would make the call.

Also as renters are we responsible for given the flight info if they need to take the shuttle to the resort?

I did for my family and friends last year.So I am not for sure but I would think that if they want DME then you would have to.
