May at the Poly! Home & catching up on work...TR to come soon!

:lmao::rotfl2::laughing::rotfl: Love the picture! How funny is that?

I was laughing so hard I almost forgot to comment on the Wild Africa Trek. I think that's a great choice since you were able to go to Universal a little while ago.

Thanks! Hopefully I didn't scare everyone away with that photo! :lmao:

I'm a little scared of going over the bridges on the Wild Africa Trek. If I look down while crossing, I think I would freeze in my tracks. I think they make you cross one before the tour leaves, so something like that won't happen.

How funny! on the Star Wars photo...I could not get past the mustache :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I, agree, with Lisa you just did US/IOA this past year (I would skip it if Danny would be OK with it)...that's a tough one on the Trek if you are afraid of heights. From the report I read on the Disney Blog it sounds like a lot of bridge crossing and looking down on the animals.

 C

Hi April,
The Star Wars pic is way too funny! You should use that pic for your holiday cards...bet your family and friends would love it...just replace Star Wars with Happy Holidays LOL! :rotfl2:

allears.net has a review on the Wild Africa Trek...not sure if you have already read it. It does say you wear a harness and are 'clipped" in while crossing certain areas.
It does sound cool. I definitely think I would do it. We try to do one tour every visit. I keep forgetting to answer you...I have never done a PTR or TR...maybe for my next trip :confused3

Hopefully we will both get light rain tomorrow...but I'm sure it will POUR! :sad2:
If I remember you have a fairly long commute to work...hopefully, it won't be so bad for you tomorrow.

:rotfl: I know- Princess Leia is looking a little too manly in that photo!
I really want to go back to IOA for Harry Potter because that ride was SO awesome, but I really need to relax. I think that this very stressful week at work finally convinced me to just stay in WDW. Plus the rental car rates are astronomical for some reason. The best deal I could find was $260+. I would rather use that money for a tour & some shopping instead!

That's a great idea about the holiday card!!!
Thanks for the tip on the allears review- I'm definitely going to read that. The fact that they have a harness makes me feel a little more secure about the bridge crossings.
I think you should definitely do a PTR & TR for your next trip! It's so fun to share the excitement & people give helpful tips & suggestions.
How's the weather up on the North Shore??? We had snow in Central MA, but as I drove to work, it changed to rain. It takes me a little over an hour to get to work. I hate my commute!!!

Hi!
Did you get SNOW today??? We have about 4-5 inches on the ground...when will it end!! LOL I had a plan to go do some hardcore shopping when I woke up, then I looked out the window :confused3
I have the weather channel app on my blackberry set to Orlando...it was reading a nice 82 degrees :cool2:

I was showing my mom the DIS yesterday...and she saw some of your pics of Isis....mom thinks she's adorable!

do you watch Pawn Stars? I think the stars are in your area today...we almost got tickets to go see them, but my DH had to work.

We did get snow yesterday!!! I think about 4 inches, too. We had freezing rain this morning. :sad2: Don't you feel like you have cabin fever?? I do!
Isis is something else! She growled at me yesterday for talking about cutting her toenails. :rotfl:
I had no clue that Pawn Stars were in the area. I watch that show whenever I can- it's pretty funny sometimes & always interesting.
Looks like no more snow this week! :woohoo: I hope we can just coast into Spring with no more weather issues.

Today I thought I would share some photos from a trip in late October-early November 2003.

I think that camera was only 2 megapixels!!!

Next, I wanted to share a screen capture of the weather when I checked it on Friday- this is typical. Notice that almost the entire state is green (rain), except the central area where I live, which was in purple- freezing rain.

Today it is the same situation- I'm at work now & it is raining here, but there is freezing rain at home right now. I'm SO, SO sick of winter!!!

A lady here at work took her 1st vacation since the 70's. She went to Disney with her grandchildren & was back in work today. She seems so relaxed & she said she didn't think of work once! I'm so happy that the trip went well for her. She loved Fantasmic & the new show on the castle. Of course, it makes me daydream about May. 79 days to go!!!!!!!!!!

Hey! April

fun pictures! I really love the Lion King scene.

so sorry to hear you guys are still getting slammed with winter there...
we are having wonderful temps that you guys are dreaming of! come summer,
We will be wanting to visit you this summer to get out of the heat and humidity :rotfl:

unfortuatley that means that come April/May the humidity and temps are going to be so high here we are going to be suffering the way you guys are suffering now. And, it usually makes for a busy hurricane season. That is what I have been thinking about lately; our trip is for the end of Sept/hoping we will not be there for a rainy period or have to postpone due to a storm. The end of Aug and Sept are usually the worst time of the year for hurricane season. That was one of the reason's I choose May for our cruise just in case hurricane season starts early this year. Usually in a LaNina pattern the waters and temps down here are warmer.

Guess we should all move to the middle of the country or better yet have winter homes here in the south and summer homes up by you guys... ;)

Hope you have a great day! May will be here before you know it and you will be in Disney :mickeyjum

Great pictures even if your camera was just a 2 megapixel. I was trying to think back to what kind of camera I had in 2003 and I can't remember. I am betting it was still a 35mm.

I hate to hear that you're still getting a lot of Winter weather. We are currently at 77 degrees and we have the air conditioner running. I agree with Connie and think that we're going to have one heck of a hot Summer.

I'm happy to hear that your friend from work had a good time at Disney. Once we are on the road and headed to Disney, I hardly ever think of work either. Here's hoping those 79 days pass quickly for you.

I definitely don't think I could withstand the heat & humidity you guys get for an ENTIRE summer! We get those temperatures for maybe a week in July and that's it.
Your cruise is coming up quick, too!! You are going to post photos when you get back, right??

Thanks! I can't believe that camera lasted me so long...I think I had it for 5 years before "trading up". It doesn't sound like a lot, but I am really impatient with digital cameras. I want the newest one all of the time!
77 degrees sounds perfect!! Like I told Connie, though, I would never survive a Louisiana summer. The heat really gets to me.

thinking I'll do a mini TR in my PTR :confused3
what do you think?!? my camera is not the greatest, I really wanted a new one but that did not happen this year. I lost my S/D card last month (took it out of the computer so I would not lose it and lost it! so I need to add that to my shopping list.

Definitely do a mini TR in your PTR!!! That would be awesome!
Sometimes you can find great deals on Amazon.com on SD cards- it is worth a look if you don't mind ordering them online.

You guys know I love to take pictures. It has been 10 years since I have had an SLR camera- and it was actually a film camera. I have spent every day for the past two years looking at this camera online...the Canon Rebel T1i. I think it is the same one Dana has. (correct me if I'm wrong, Dana!) Yesterday I found a deal that was too good to pass up. I bought it! I checked the tracking & it is going to be delivered Monday! I can't tell you how excited I am!! Get ready for lots of "test" photos. I'll have to teach myself to take photos in manual mode all over again. Plus the camera comes with 4 lenses, a tripod, uv filters, etc.

Other than that, my exciting weekend will consist of turtle tank cleaning (you all know this is my LEAST favorite job), laundry, cooking, and right now I'm waiting for word on my car. I dropped it off at the mechanic last night for him to look at the brakes & check this squealy belt. I really hate car problems. I can't complain about my car, though- it has over 215,000 miles on it and besides regular maintenance, the only problems I've had have both occured past 200,000 miles. I had to replace a pressurized power steering hose & hoses that carry the transmission fluid to and from the radiator (they were rusted). When I eventually have to replace this one, I'm definitely getting the same car again.

I'm hoping there will be a few Dis meets during my May trip- I think I am going to check right now. I hope you all have a great weekend!!

Congrats on the camara purchase! You take such great pictures, so happy you treated yourself!

 car problems are a 4 letter word around here! knock on wood, we have been lucky LATELY..., but it's better than a car payment...at least thats the way I look at it. I hope it works out for you

what's your countdown?

still no luck shoe shopping, I've been to every Marshall's in a 10 mile radius.... :rotfl:
I'm gonna take your advice and hit DSW....I think I'm having a hard time finding something I like because I have un-polished winter feet - LOL
I need a pedicure...all
shoes will look cute on nicely polished toes!

p.s. there is a thread on trying to plan a New England/MA/Greater Boston Dis meet....nothing is set in stone yet, but they are leaning towards the Kowloon Restaurant in Saugus....

Congrats! on the new camera!! I so want one but don't want to spend the money on myself, not onlly that I WANT my car painted. I can not stand the rock chips anylonger. So, other than our two trips that is going to be our next big expenditure....

hope the car was not too bad.

dismeets sound fun; I know I'm looking forward to it on our trip

New England/MA/Greater Boston meet

I'm at 71 days!! I have to admit that I am regretting the camera purchase- my car repairs were over $600. :scared1:
Definitely hit DSW. I hear you about needing a pedicure- I'm WAY overdue there. My last one was October. I only usually wear open-toed shoes at Disney, so I usually only get a pedi before a trip. Should I admit that?? :rotfl:
I will check out that link to the meet thread. If my car is running, maybe I will go! It stalled twice this morning, but both times I went through huge puddles.

Ugh- the car was $600+. AND it stalled twice on the way to work today! I have to admit that the car problems stress me out SO much. If I lived closer to work, I bet it wouldn't bother me as much, but right now the car stuff makes me crazy. :upsidedow
The camera was pricey, but I'm hoping to eventually start a side job with photography. I made so many excuses over the past year and a half as to why I shouldn't buy it- there is always something going on...it was funny that my boss saw me looking at it & said, "Will you just buy that thing already?!?!?!" :lmao: I am nervous, though, that with 215,000 miles on my car & no major problems before, that it is going to have a problem every week now. Time to start saving for a new one! :sad2:

I can't wait to see how your pictures turn out with your new camera. I want a new camera soooooo bad and vow that I am going to get one before our next trip.

Car troubles totally suck! BIG TIME!

Thanks, Lisa! It is slow-going here with learning to use the new camera. I think part of it is that everything outside is gray, white, and brown right now. I hate the winter. I can't wait until Spring! Maybe I'll post a couple of photos tomorrow. I'll try to get some shots outside today. I hope you have a great weekend!!!

I've only taken a few photos so far with this camera- I'm still learning. Here's a small sample of what I've taken so far:

Clearly, I have a lot to learn!!! I have 65 days to figure it out. I'm going to the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in CT tomorrow night, but I won't bring the DSLR. I will bring my other camera, though. I can only take photos of the room & food since they don't allow photos in the casino. I'll definitely post photos & a review of whatever restaurant we decide to go to. I hope everyone's weekend is going well!

Hi April,
How did you do at Foxwoods? I haven't been there in YEARS....I think the last time was to see a Knight Ranger show... at least 7 years ago because my friend didn't have her kids yet and her oldest is in 1st grade....it was a great show!

We have little to no snow!!! YEAH! If it would warm up past 40, it would be awesome...I hear Thursday will be 60!!

Are all those pets yours? They are really cute....
the pics came out great
