May 9, 2012: 5 Night Bahamas Cruise on Disney Magic

So glad your room got worked out! Today's question - anyone have any experience with either the nursery or the kids clubs for kids who are 3/4? I think I've been spending too much time reading reviews and lots seem to be negative. But I'm trying to not worry and chalk it up to people who had a bad experience probably being more likely to post. Also are they open all day? Do you have to be with them some of the time? So many questions....

Holy cow! We didn't realize pricing locked in when we booked. Our upgrade was only $255!!!!! I'm so stinkin' tickled right now! :dance3:

It's officially official: 7104 for us! WooHooooo!!!!

Austin, I know nothing about the nursery but do think people with bad experiences are more compelled to take the time to put a review out there than good experience folks. :thumbsup2

Good for you, Sweetpee! So glad it worked out!

Mom2Finn - After our 1st Magic cruise, I wrote a huge post re: the kids club because I was sooooo worried about taking our 3 yo DS there. Rest assured that it's absolutely wonderful. So much so that our DS would literally cry and scream when we take him away. Here are the main positives:

1. They are wonderfully secure. You & your child have to be scanned in & out. I think they will literally taze you if you don't. (J/K but not really)
2. They squirt some soap in your hands as you walk in so that every child/adult is forced to wash their hands the second they step foot inside their turf. Love it from this germaphobe.
3. The kids have so many options - anything from watching a movie, play with video games, arts & crafts, dance with the CM's or actual Disney characters or just romp around in that wonderful pirate ship. There's something for every kid. Plus, you'll NOT get a better chance for private character meets & photo opps.

Even though I pretty much stayed in there with DS for the 1st 3 days, you do NOT have to do so. In fact, I was just following DS around from 1 station to another. He couldn't have cared less that I was there. The key is the kids do need to be potty trained. If there is an accident, they will page you to come change your child.

Bottomline - Your DS will LOVE it ... and so will you. There's nothing to worry about. (This is coming from an over-protective, OCD germaphobic, single-child mom who reviews to our State's sex offenders registry weekly because I'm always worried some sicko will move into our neighborhood or near DS' school.)

See you there!

Christina, hope your day hasn't been too rough. :grouphug:

Ok, can someone please tell me again how you post a picture? I think it's so cool to have your pic in your sig line.

Thanks!
Annabel

Your picture will first need to be hosted on a website (such as Photobucket, Snapfish, etc.). Once you have it there, you will need to copy the website of where the picture is stored (this is why Photobucket is easiest to use...the have the IMG code listed already there - all you have to do is click on the IMG code box and voila! Copied! Just come back over here and paste it (if using Photobucket, you just need to do copy/paste...other sites might require you to add the
before and after the link you have pasted here). Hope that all makes sense!

Crisis averted! I just got off the phone with my TA. She's on the bus on the way to the port from WDW. I'm tellin' you, she's the shiz! She still has to send me the confirmation but we bumped up to a balcony for about $500 still keeping my OBB discount in place. That's $500 well spent, if ya asked me. When I called Tracey this morning to tell him, I thought he'd be mad at me for even trying to do a GTY. His thoughts were that it was fun to see what we'd end up getting assigned on a GTY but he had already told himself if we didn't get bumped up to a balcony he was going to have me upgrade us anyway. So all is right with the world!

Awesome! Wonderful this was all worked out prior to your TA sailing away!

Thank you for this - it was super helpful, I also just PM'd you a follow up question. We definitely want family time but since I am at home with the kids and my husband travels all week for work I'm hoping for some child free time too. :)

Cindy - You rock, as usual! Thanks!

Mom2Finn - PM'ed back at ya!

Have a great weekend, everyone!!

Sweetpea I'll switch with you for no added fee... we are at the bottom of the boat :lmao::rotfl:

Im going to need ALOT of coffee today! I went to see the Hunger Games at midnight (loved it) and came home just in time for my DS to wake up with the stomach flu. Then my DD heard him (who has anxiety fears of throwing up) and she would not go back to bed. Up ALL NIGHT LONG and I get to go to work. GOing to be a fun day :coffee:

I'm hearing great things about Hunger Games! I'll be taking Maya to it soon! Hope work wasn't too horrible today, now let's all cross our fingers that you don't get the stomach flu!

Thankfully DS in feeling better. He threw up last at 8AM and by 10AM you would never have known he was sick. Now hopefully the rest of us stay healthy. I am just tired! Been a long night and day.

SweetPea congrats on the room! Great deal too

My kids are officially on spring break. We have been in the 80s here in Chicago.. which is just a wonderful gift for March! It is usually freezing! Hopefully it will stay nice with the kids being off. I would love to do free outdoor things. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I hope I am doing the right thing. I have changed our dining to the second dining time. I am just afraid we will be to rushed to be to dinner by 5:45. I want to be able to relax and we don't eat dinner that early anyhow, plus the kids can have a snack if they need to. 8:30 dining will feel like 7:30 with the time difference, so I think we will be ok.

We have 2nd seating, too. I didn't like cutting the afternoons short to get ready for dinner. I know we were at least 10 minutes late to every dinner in the main dining rooms. On our Palo dinner night we are eating at 6:00. I figured we'd go sit with the boys for a bit at whatever restaurant is our regular one and have a coffee or tea while we visit with them. Maybe we'll sample more desserts. :cutie:

We have 2nd seating as well. I dont like to feel rushed to get ready for dinner and like to sneak in a nap if possible. I figured we can always get the kids a little something to hold them over til dinner if needed.

We have second seating as well. We don't even get in from playing outside until 7:30 so I think it will be ok. They can always have the kids food come before ours as well and off to the club they can go if they want.
The only thing with that is Leah is only 2 so we would have to pay for nursery.

Cindy - Leave it to an IT person to be completely incompetent in following your instructions. The only thing I can do is to provide a link to the picture in Snapfish ...

http://www2.snapfish.com/snapfish/f...21234975009,"vp":"s","sb":5},"ovm":{"v":"s"}}

Can you help?

Thanks,
Annabel

I'm not familiar with how Snapfish looks when navigating. Usually when you go to your picture on that website there should be a spot that gives you various 'code' options you can select (cut/paste) for sharing. Like one will say email then there's a line of code, another will say forums or something like that with a line of code. You need to look for the code that starts with

I thought about second seating, but chose to go with main dining for the kids sake. I've learned the hard way from our trips to WDW that it's not a good idea to make Cole wait for dinner.:scared: I also like the idea of watching the shows after dinner rather than before. After this cruise we'll have a better idea of what will work for cruise #2! Oh! Yea!:cool1:
