May 9, 2012: 5 Night Bahamas Cruise on Disney Magic

The tastings usually range between $10-$15 dollars per person. Kelly, they do have a beer tasting, I believe! They can be booked once you are onboard, at guest services. Trust me, I am making a beeline there as soon as I am onboard...hopefully the champagne one (if offered) will still be available.

Erica, the bounceback is for certain dates through the end of the year, and the rates are 30% off for moderates and 35% off for deluxe and DVC. I want to say values are either 25% or 30%, but cannot remember exactly. Not all dates are available (i.e. in December, the only week offered for the bounceback rate is December 9-15). I wish I would have taken a picture of the card in the room that listed the deets...we may switch our dates around. Ugh!

Just found the current bounceback deets, Erica!

You mean May 14th right we will still be on the ship 13th.

Hehe. I guess you're right. Am not looking to walk the plank. :rotfl2: The total roundtrip cost is $180 + tip, so it'd be $90/family. If anyone's interested, just send me a PM. :thumbsup2

How about we all have a girls time out (in the bar hahahhaha) while we send the GUYS/kids to the movie!??

This sounds like a grand idea!! :cool1:

OK, cliff notes on bounce back???

Just deals on hotels?

Yep, just on the WDW resorts. Sometimes bouncebacks will be room only, other times packages, and yet other times free dining. The current one being offered is room only. You can add dining to your room if you wish, at the current going rate for the dining plan. We never used to book bouncebacks as the FL resident rates were always better, but we are seeing some better bouncebacks as of late. If FL rate comes out later and it's a better deal, we just switch the reservation.

I missed so many pages! I have been running around like a crazy person trying to get ready for my Vegas trip. I leave Saturday, and I am so excited to have some grown up girl time. I am very glad I am not trying to lose weight for the cruise because it would all be right back on by the end of the week, I'm sure.

The tastings all sound fun but of course you'll have to count me out this time. I do love the idea of a lunch meet up though. :)

Are bounceback dates only for DVC members or for anyone?

Are bounceback dates only for DVC members or for anyone?

They are for current resort guests, and must be booked before you check out. Normally you will find the flyer in your room when you arrive at WDW, but sometimes the flyer is not there. In that case, most people just check at the Concierge desk in the lobby to see if there are any current bouncebacks available. Basically Disney figures they already have you reeled in (with your current WDW stay), and are trying to hook and reel you in for another trip! :rotfl:

For all those participating in the FE, I just realized this evening when adding the latest family to the list (back on or around March 10th) that I did not update the totals at the top. Instead I just added their names and stateroom. Ugh! The shared doc on Google Docs has now been updated. If anyone wants the spreadsheet emailed to them, please let me know and I will send it out!

Oh nooooooo!!!!! I'm freakin' out!!!!

We booked a 09C GTY and my room got assigned. Not good. Worst nightmare, actually! :scared: We got 2038....directly below Rockin Bar D. Read the reviews for yourself.

Oh nooooooo..... no no no no no no noooooooo....noooot listening to night club music until late. We *do* go to bed early sometimes, especially my old man.

So I sent an email off to TA but she's on the Fantasy TA preview cruise. I think maybe they board tomorrow/today (it's past midnight). I guess I might hear from her since she takes her iPad everywhere to keep up with things. But still, what terrible luck! I looked at pricing for our sailing a few minutes ago. Looks like the least expensive category is a 05C. I'm not sure what kind of penalties I'd be stuck with at this point or if it'd be similar to WDW package changes inside 45 days that generate more money being spent. They will waive fees since you're spending more moolah. I think I remember my TA mentioning a $250 penalty at some point for something. Heck, I'd even pay the penalty plus the difference to upgrade right NOW! I can't be in a room beneath a night club. No way, Jose!

Ugh! Such terrible luck. I need cake. :sad1:

Ugh! If you upgrade now, you just need to pay the difference; there should not be a penalty. Keeping my fingers crossed your TA gets in touch with you before she sails today.

Oh noooo! I hope you can get it fixed. We are in 2638, see if you can get the adjoining cabin next to ours (the only review of that cabin was about the neighbors in the adjoining room being loud). We are extremely quiet :thumbsup2

No CAKE!!! Being a beer girl you can have 2 lite beers (less calories). :lmao: Plus I just read that 1 beer a day is actually good for you, so 1 of your beers is for you health! :rotfl:

So sorry Kelly!

Isn't it nice of Disney to let you make your vacation more expensive without charging a penalty ;) I hope it's not too much of a price increase. Maybe you guys can join us on Deck 7 - there seems to be a lot of us! I also read about a "secret deck" on Deck 7. I'm hoping it really is a secret and will be empty a lot.

Happy Friday y'all!!! :cool1:

Sweetpea I'll switch with you for no added fee... we are at the bottom of the boat :lmao::rotfl:

Im going to need ALOT of coffee today! I went to see the Hunger Games at midnight (loved it) and came home just in time for my DS to wake up with the stomach flu. Then my DD heard him (who has anxiety fears of throwing up) and she would not go back to bed. Up ALL NIGHT LONG and I get to go to work. GOing to be a fun day :coffee:

Sorry, Sweetpee. :( The other thing to consider is when you arrive at the port, you can always ask to switch to another cabin in your category OR you can pay a much lesser fee to upgrade to another cabin. The other piece of consolation is there's rarely anything going on in a DCL night club after 9 pm. We went a couple of times during our last cruise and it was pretty much just us and the bartender. Good luck!

Annabel

Ok, can someone please tell me again how you post a picture? I think it's so cool to have your pic in your sig line.

Thanks!
Annabel

Crisis averted! I just got off the phone with my TA. She's on the bus on the way to the port from WDW. I'm tellin' you, she's the shiz! She still has to send me the confirmation but we bumped up to a balcony for about $500 still keeping my OBB discount in place. That's $500 well spent, if ya asked me. When I called Tracey this morning to tell him, I thought he'd be mad at me for even trying to do a GTY. His thoughts were that it was fun to see what we'd end up getting assigned on a GTY but he had already told himself if we didn't get bumped up to a balcony he was going to have me upgrade us anyway. So all is right with the world!

Jen! We're joining the Deck 7 crew! I asked for (and hopefully will get) 7104, aft on the port side. We liked being starboard last cruise because when you back into CC the views across the island are fantastic. However, being right by the aft elevators will be convenient to pop up to the drink station. :goodvibes

And Christina! Bless your heart! Hang in there, girl!
