May 8th 2008 cruise

Sounds like you've got it all planned out Fredms! We're arriving at WDW on 5/6, taking Tiffany Towncar to the hotel from the airport, and staying at Wilderness Lodge for two nights. A good friend of mine (a DISer who lives in Orlando) is taking me and my dd to 1900 Park Fare on the first night, then we're heading to MK on the next day while my mom hits Downtown Disney. I'm loading her up with money since she's not really into the whole theme park part of it! LOL My friend is then kind enough to take us to the port and back to the airport. I feel so very fortunate! We'll probably get there around 10, so just be sure to look for the redhead with the almost 4 year old who doesn't look like her mother (me, fair skin, freckles, red hair, her dark brown eyes, brown hair, olive skin.........must have taken after her dad! LOL)!

Sorry I have been MIA lately!!! WOW... lots to catch up on!! We ordered our FE's but they havent arrived yet... so fingers crossed they arrive soon!

Our docs showed up though!! but like some of you, they were just tossed out front our door.. .THANK GOD we found them!

We are in two cabins, but our FE will be outside this one:

We are SOOOO excited!!!

Booked our transfers etc to and from (Using Tiffany as well), and are set for our stay at Saratoga Springs for a little pre/post WDW time!

No excursions for us this round... just plan on being lazy!

Yay! My cruise documents just arrived.........finally! I guess maybe the reason mine took longer is that I booked through a TA (Vacationstogo), and Disney sends them the docs and then they send them to me.

Whew - What a crazy week!
Busy, busy, busy ... I haven't been around lately 'cause I'm in charge of the Talent Show at my kids' school.
Just imagine 85 kids singing off-key, dancing, tumbling, guitar strumming, etc. (You get the idea!)
I blame the number on the writers' strike and darn reality tv - They all want to be on American Idol or So You Think You Can Dance!
I do like that our school doesn't limit the kids by their ability, just by their attendance at rehearsals and if they are prepared.
The actual show is on May 13, so the cruise will be a great way to forget about it all just when I will have had enough!
I got a package in the mail today from Choice Shirts with our t-shirts for Pirate Night and I ordered a FE from eBay - Splurged on the $30 one since I KNOW we will use it again!
Also, I wanted to let you all know that I am planning on burning "cruise music" CD's for one of my FE gifts (first night), so I hope no one was planning to do that too!
Let me know if so - I can still change my plans, but I have all the CD's and I know it's a great way after the cruise is over to "relive" some of your onboard memories.
That's all for now - Glad to see we are getting some more DISers on the cruise and am looking forward to meeting everyone.

Alright, after looking through my cruise documents I have a question. On the "Your Travel Booklet", it says on the front that your cruise contract is contained in the contract section of the travel booklet, yet I see nothing more than the last page that says "cruise and airline contracts" with a bar code. Is this what everyone else has? It's like that in all of our booklets. Am I just supposed to print the contract off of the DCL site? Thanks for any help!

degrapevine - I'm sending lots of wishes for patience, and a great sense of humor to you. (And if that fails earplugs work really well ) I work in an elementary school, so believe me, I feel your pain.
CDs sound like a great idea! Can't wait.

I have a question. Can I bring unopened bottles of juice onto the ship?

Here's the deal............my dd, 3, has had bathroom "issues" since birth and because of this, her doctor told me to only use white grape juice as it's supposed to help her with this, and fortunately it has. Well, in the last month I decided that I could switch her to apple since she was older and it's much cheaper and because white grape wouldn't be available on the cruise. Needless to say, it's not working and the problems are resurfacing.

She can and does drink milk some of the time and is fine as long as she has a fairly decent amount of juice a day (at least 50% of the time). Also, does anyone know how the kids clubs handle this? Would I bring juice with her and should I note it on the reservation? Thanks for any help!!

I don't think it would be a problem to bring unopened bottles of juice on with you. People bring water, beer, wine, etc. As for the kids programs I don't know how they handle that. Maybe a sports bottle with her name on it?? You might want to make a quick call to DCL and ask.

Does anyone know about taking food in your carry-on onto the plane? My son loves uncrustables and I thought that and a small bag of chips would be a good snack/meal for him. It would all be prepackaged and sealed. Is it only liquids that they are concerned about taking on the plane? I looked on the TSA website but all that was addressed was beverages. I would appreciate anyones knowledge on this subject!
