May 6, 2007 - 4 night Wonder

O-Kay, that is a good idea!! Don't know if whole crew will agree though!! My Mom is a shopper and my DH has been on a cruise before! I had thought that we might just stay on the ship in Nassau and take advantage of the emptiness. My co-worker just went this past May and that is what they did. Then my DH said why wouldn't you get off the ship? So, it's still up in the air. What are yau'll going to be doing on the ship while at port? Do you know if any of the shows are going to be going on, or if there is activities for those that stay on board?

Another question, which seating do you guys have? We have 1st because of my DD and my co-worker says we might miss the sailaway party. I just can't imagine them running the sailaway party and 1st dining at the same time. Any info on that?

Thanks,
Lesley

We have 1st seating too. I started a thread about it here and another board and people overwhelming said you need to do the 1st with kids. Only if you want to feed them while at the pool and then have dinner with out them is it a good idea to have the 2nd seating. Since this is my 1st cruise I feel the dinner is part of the experience and want my kids to have it (at least some of it, we might run them down to the clubs if they get restless.) I can't imagine having hungry tried cranky kids at that hour.

My SIL has the 2nd seating. They will have a 1 year old but good old dear brother in law can't eat early so that is what they are going for.

I also hear if you are from the east coast do the 1st seating, any other time zones, especially west coast, do the 2nd.

1st seating is the hardest to get into. I hear it is pretty easy to change from 1st to 2nd, but not the other way around.

Also, just wanted to let you know, I looked up the Navigators and they say the Sailaway Party will be at 4:15. So I think if we are dressed for dinner for the party, we should have plenty of time to enjoy the party and make it for dinner!!!

Thanks :thumbsup2 As a parent of young kids I am pretty used to missing a few things here and there. You just can't do everything every time when you have kids. This is why we keep coming back to WDW, and now very likely the cruise ship too.

Lesley

For those of you who have cruised before, I need help with Nassau!! I have the Birnbaum's Disney Cruise Line Book and in the Nassau part they talk about leaving the beaches and going into the true Bahamas where Bahamians do their traditional dance, the junkanoo, and goombay music fills the air and you can sample some authentic island cooking (page 163 for those who have the book). But I am confused on how to do this because there is no excursion that resembles this and in the PassPorter's Field Guide it says that the Junkanoo takes place while our ship is out of port???? Please Help!!

I understand that you can organize your own excursions. You need to find the transportation and sometimes it is even cheaper since there is not "Disney markup" added for "convenience" (although Disney would not admit it is marked up). I heard that if you call Disney and ask what company they use for the service they let you know. If you say if you have some questions specific to your party you may even be able to get the number from them. (I only heard of this happening once and the other people on the last cruise that heard about this were surprised they hadn't thought to ask.)

I have heard the dolphin experience is great for teens and adults. Even though smaller kids would be excited, they may not be so excited once there and may even get scared.

We are probably going to do Bleackbeard's Cay/Stingray Adventure again. That was fun the first time around and my DSis (16) is looking forward to it. We got some great video and underwater pictures with our digital camera. If you have a digital camera and do anything in or around water I highly recommend this great investment. And get a good case for the camera, we have read plenty of the cheaper (universal) ones have failed and destroyed many a camera.

For the day at Castaway Cay we will probably stay on the ship and see what there is to do. My DSis will probably venture to the teen area of the island, but our DD will only be 1 so we are staying on board that day.

Hi! I'm new to this forum. I will be sailing with my husband and 2 children (11 & 8) on Disney Wonder on May 6th 2007. I saw a few are also on this cruise as well. This is our 1st cruise so we are SOOOOOOO excited! We are spending sometime as well at the parks before the cruise. Would be nice to meet a few people that are also going. :cool1:
