has everyone gotten their ressies done? Isnt that great, we dont have to rush and send family members to different lines..Im looking forward to Costa Maya, not sure if we will do anything..Maybe get off the boat and just walk around...I am looking forward to trying one of those conch coolers I have heard of
I believe I have all my ressies done. :cool1:

I think I have all the ressies done that I'm going to do. Will have to wait until onboard to book Palo Brunch and change my Palo dinner time. Didn't book any excursions, will just do those on our own. Would really like to know if it's Coz or Costa Maya. I'm betting it will be Costa Maya though...

Still snowing right now! Really needing that warm carribbean sunshine :sunny: I'm freezing here! :cold:

I havent been notified but some of my friends that are cruising other lines have been told that Cozumel wont be ready until June, so I am just assuming we arent going there...I could be wrong..I love Cozumel though

Thanks. I thought maybe someone had been told for sure. I 've never been either place so it really doesn't matter - we'll have fun no matter where we go

There will definitely be special itineraries on the Disney Magic between 5/12/07 and 9/1/07. No official announcement has been made, but there are strong indications that Disney Cruise Line will be doing Mediterranean itineraries in summer 2007. The itineraries will be officially announced on March 21. Rumored itineraries and dates:

5/12/07-5/26/07- Repositioning cruise from Port Canaveral to Europe (there is speculation that ports on this sailing will include Castaway Cay, New York and London)
5/26/07-8/18/07 - Alternating 10-night and 11-night cruises (likely visiting France and Italy)
8/18/07-9/1/07 - Repositioning cruise from Europe to Port Canaveral
If you want to book one of the special itinerary Summer 2007 cruises on the Disney Magic, be aware that Disney is no longer taking waiting list requests for those sailings. Beginning 3/28/06, Disney Cruise Line will begin processing the requests that have already been taken, in the order they were received. Guests (or their travel agents) will be contacted as each request is processed to let them know they have cleared the waitlist, at which time their cruise will be reserved and a confirmation issued. This will continue through 4/3/06.

I wanted to do the Eastern 7 night in May of 2007, but I guess that's out!

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to hop and in and say that we did decide to book this one. Ended up booking a gty cat 5 which was $200 LESS than the cat 6??
It will be me (40-something), dh (40-something) and ds (16). This is our fourth Disney cruise, with the Western being our itinerary of choice it looks like, with this being our 3rd time here. Booking this late, I am nervous about what cabin we will get as I usually know ahead of time, but any cabin is better than not being on the ship! :teeth:
We will be flying down day prior, still not sure where we will stay though?
Anyone have ideas on anything to do on the last day as our flight out on the 13th will be late (5:10pm).

Jillane: are you still getting snow on the westside? That just floors me as we are having 50's here on the eastside. Funny how a state can be so diverse! I hear San Diego and San Fransisco are having snow too!??

Looking forward to cruising with you all!
Lisa

A big hello from the balmy Northeast. :wave2: We are expecting a high of 60 degrees today along the shore in Connecticut and some snow on Friday. :confused3

We are arriving the night before the cruise and staying at the Hyatt. Taking the Disney bus to port. We have a 7:20pm flight back home the last day and we rented a car from Budget to drive back so we could spend the day at Downtown Disney. Even made ressies at Rainforest Cafe. I figured at least we will spend another day in the Disney spirit.

Some people book a day room at the Hyatt also and enjoy relaxing and the pool.

Happy planning!

Gina and newtocruise;
Thank you for the welcome! We are very excited with not much time to plan. :goodvibes I am thinking of renting a car and going to Downtown Disney on the Saturday we come back as well. That or the Space center.
Gina, did you book through Disney, or did you find a deal on the Hyatt?
I would rather stay at the Hyatt as we come in at 9:30pm, but don't want to pay $185 for a room!

Lisa

Lisa,

I have the Hyatt booked right now with the AAA discount for $165. Not much better though, but I've been checking on Hotwire for it. It has gone down from $171 on there to about $167 when I checked a few days ago.

I would rather pay the $165 for piece of mind though. I also like the thought of not being tired on our first day of the cruise due to traveling.

Besides, for DH the easier the better. Gotta keep him happy...nothing like traveling with grumpy!

Gina, I agree on the peace of mind part. I don't like dealing with Hotwire, priceline or any of those types of websites. Also, the Hyatt is so convenient. We have stayed there 2 of our last 3 trips on DCL and love it. You can send dh down in the am to the Krispy Kreme or the McDonalds (LOL), the luggage is picked up around 8 or 8:30 and you meet for the buses by 9. Last time we were at the port by 10:15. (we got on the first bus)
It looks like we will be taking the DCL busses to port this time too as, much like you said, gotta keep hubby happy...don't want grumpy! :)
Traveling from the West Coast, we get in late on Friday anyway so renting a car just doesn't seem to be cost effective.

It does look like we will have a good group at Downtown Disney! :)
We might all be on the busses to port together too! Is anyone wearing Dis lime green or anything?

Lisa

Lisa, I am going to be trying to rally the troops to be on the first bus out too. I know there is a good chance we might not even sleep good that night. Our flight gets in at 9:20pm. I will probably be the first one up, always get brain noise when my vacation is within days. I never sleep until the alarm goes off on vacation morning! I must say, you do have excellent choices for breakfast...may just have to bring Krispy Kremes for the ride. ;)

If I can end up taking my fanny pack then I might make up a key chain with the lime green Mickey head from Home Depot to hang on it. I've done it on a backpack before, but I don't think I'm going that route. May even treat myself to one of those smaller, oversized wallet style purses that have a long strap to stradle from one shoulder to my opposite side at the waist. :confused3

Anyone have any ideas for what to carry essentials in on the islands?

Seeing how I need to buy some clothes I think a lime green shirt may be in order. :teeth:

DW and I are driving to Port Canaveral on Friday and have ressies at the Radission Resort at the Port. It is the closest hotel to the port. The hotel will allow you to park your car in its lot for free while you are on your cruise, and provides a shuttle to the port. Our rate is $118 per night and it is the closest hotel to the port.

It's pretty easy to find the cheapest rates at Radisson Resort at the Port, if you know a few tricks: :stir:

Go to the Radisson web site.
For the city, type Cape Canaveral.
Enter your dates and the number of adults and children, then the "Continue" button.
Under Radisson Resort at the Port, click on "View Rates."
Ignore the first set of rates that pop up. These are usually not the lowest available.
Instead, go all the way to the bottom of that page and click on "view all rates."
You will see a variety of lower rates. Almost all of them are available to anyone!
IGNORE the special "cruise parking" packages you may see listed. You aren't required to purchase one of these to get the free parking. Booking any room will do.

Can you set the alarm clock 53 days in advance?????? :confused3

may just have to bring Krispy Kremes for the ride.

I'm sitting by you! :teeth:
I miss Krispy Kremes as we have no stores near us now. :(

Anyone have any ideas for what to carry essentials in on the islands?

I always either use my fanny pack or on CC I bring a waterproof tote and stuff everything in there. On board ship I carry my id and KTTW card on a lanyard. I just hole punch the KTTW and put it on the lanyard, this year I have one with a waterproof pouch.

Lisa

Lisa,
No more snow for us. As of yesterday we still had remnants of some snowmen that were built. Today it was actually 50 degrees! Far cry from what it was just 3 days ago. I'm not complaining one bit!

We are also coming in the night before and we have reservations at the Radisson. We are actually using GoldPoints to pay for our room :thumbsup2

Did someone say Krispy Kreme??? We have one WAY too close for us. We go there every Sunday after church (since it is practically next door!). Just had a lovely pumpkin spice donut yesterday. Mmmmm good!

countin down the days......

Hi, Mind if I join in here? :) Bear with me--never did this and not extremely computer savy but Love Disney. Will be going with my DH and DD(5)-actually turns 5 the day we leave. Also, coming with 113 other employees of the hospital where I work. I'm so excited I can hardly stand myself :rotfl: Anyone else have children around 5ish?

Welcome kimaroo! :wave2: Wow 113 other employees??? That is a HUGE group you are coming with. There are actually quite a few kids around 5 that are coming, if you have time, go back and read the other posts in this thread to see who all is coming. I have twin 5 yr old boys, and my nephew who is coming along is 4 1/2 - sorry we don't have any girls that age.

Glad to have you join us. The countdown is on and we are so excited!

"Are we going to Cozumel or Costa Maya on the May 6th sailing of the Magic? Thanks and God bless!

Chris"

And the answer is - - - - -

Dear Chris,

Thank you for your e-mail. We continue to evaluate the possibility of returning to Cozumel. For the February and March sailings, the capacity of the tender operation prohibited our return. At this time, no decisions have been made regarding any changes to future Western Caribbean Sailings.

I hope this information has been helpful, should you require further assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing with you! Have a Magical Day!
