May 6, 2006 - 7 nite Western - Anyone Crusing?

Oh, and I'm sure you all will find me one way or another on this cruise. I'll be the one saying "Alexis" over and over again. She has potatoes in her ears I'm sure. That and "selective" hearing.

I know how that goes! :rolleyes1 I'll be doing it too!.

Oh no! DH threw out his back this morning and has been laid up on the couch all day! He didn't even really "do" anything, just got out of bed wrong or something. Boy, getting old kinda sucks! :sad2: I guess better this happened now than the day before - or the day we leave. Well at least he got up in the attic yesterday and got the suitcases down for me :thumbsup2 He is really hurting though otherwise he'd be up doing things - he HATES to lay there and do nothing - and it's driving me crazy too listening to him whine.

Please say a prayer for him (Marc). We have too much to do this week to have him laid up! He is the assist. coach of DD's softball team and they have a game tonight and Monday night. He will have to miss the game tonight and already called a few parents for back-up. He is hating life right now. Not fun.

Lisa - don't know what's in the water....must be something. Only 58 degrees here today so I can't even sit in the sun!

Hope everyone else is doing better than us!
Heather

Oh no!! Hopefully he'll have time to mend before you leave. I hope he feels better soon!!

I just got my dresses back from the seamstress and they look wonderful!! I watched the Magic sail out today and did a little jig knowing that the next time she leaves Port Canaveral we will on deck for our first cruise !!!!

How do I make the next 5 days fly by? :hourglass

Heather, hope DH's back is doing better soon. Chris close your eyes, their is nothing worse than a whining man.

My DH is the same way. God forbid he sit still for 5 minutes. When he had carpul tunel (sp?) surgery in January, they let him leave the hospital as long as he promised to rest when he got home. He could not even sit long enough to watch a movie. He had surgery at 9am and couldn't sit still by noon!

We were in the low 60's today, not quite sun bathing weather. I still managed to get a sunburn on my nose, cheeks and the v-neck of my shirt while watching DD's soccer game, with my coat on! :confused3

Oh no Heather! Prayers said. Hope Marc is doing better. I have a bad back from a car accident several years ago, and believe me, it is NO fun when they go out. (what's the old saying: my back goes out more than I do?) so true! LOL

We hit 88 degrees today! But now the wind has picked up.

Bought my lime green polo shirt today which ought to make me easier to spot in the terminal and on the ship.

Glad everyone else is checking in. Good to hear from everyone. All day I have been saying: "This time next week we will be on deck eating Mango soup", or "this time next Saturday we will be waving at sailaway." Dh and ds are looking at me with that patient look as if to say "Dear woman, we know it's been a long time since you have had a vacation, but really, enough already!"
 :hyper2:

Lisa (first day without a sore throat in a WEEK! the pixie dust and prayers are working...Thanks!)

Gina, exact same weather today in Virginia Beach, VA and I too got a sunburn watching my DDs soccer game. Although, I am thinking mine might be part wind burn. It was chilly! It is supposed to warm up next week, but selfishly, part of me wants it to stay cool so that we can really appreciate 80 degrees.

I've been shopping way too much this week! As always I've had to start from scratch with the kids as they have outgrown all but their grungiest play clothes(why does that always happen?) We usually shop a little here and there during May and June, but this time, I am buying a summer's worth in two weeks. On top of that, there are absolutely no sales this time of year. I can't say that I am not having fun doing it, just having a hard time justifying! :rolleyes1

Heather, I will definitely pray for your DH Marc's quick recovery. A bad back would be a real bummer with all the luggage to be toted! I have been praying for the last few nights that our family will be healthy for this trip. My DS can't seem to kick his pink eye. I got his script changed on Wednesday, but his eyes looked red again today. I think his thick eyelashes block the meds from getting to his eye!

Off to do more laundry... Just think, one week from tonight we will be cruising to Key West! I can hardly contain myself!! :woohoo: :bounce: :yay:  :goodvibes

Hello Everyone,

I just booked the 10:30 StingRay excursion through Captain Bryans. Anyone else?????

I can not wait to get there because I am obsessing over packing and spending too much money on clothes and stuff I think I need.

Chris I will tell my brother to get in the mood but he is taking finals this week and is in a bad mood...

I am off to bed and to think of ways I could lose 15lbs by next week...hmmmmm

Heather I hope your hubby feels better:)

Heather from NJ

I wanted to share with you all something I found over on Cruise Critics boards. It is a link to coupons for some of the sites for Key West.

http://keywestfun.org/coupons.pdf

Hope some of you can use them, I know I found 2 I can. Woo-hoo, more $$$ for drinks of the day!

Gina,
Thank you tons for the coupons! I can use a couple of them! Saves me some more money so I can book a spa package or two. ;)

Lisa

Heather hope DH is doing better today.

Gina , thanks for the link to the coupons - saving $$$ works for me :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for the coupons! That's going to save me over $30!!! :cool1:

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and that those who are ailing are quickly mended!

I spent the morning printing off a whole tree worth of confirmations and directions. It felt good to check something off the to do list!

I'm hoping to finish most of the laundry today and make a big dent in the packing. Monday is our city's trash amnesty day, so I've got to gather everything up for that as well. Fun, fun.

I'm up for an after dinner meet on the Deck 7 aft veranda--sounds like fun!

I'll also hang around the ship model at 11ish. DH will have his lime green polo shirt on and I'll have a lime green DIS lanyard on. Please say hi if you see us!!!

Hi everyone! Hope I'm not late to the party! So excited about the cruise. This will be our first cruise experience. Picked up some great tips on this site. Traveling with DH, DD's ages 4 and 3. Anyone from Chicago? I thought I saw that someone was from Montgomery, IL? We live in west Joliet near Plainfield and we know the Montgomery/Aurora area. Have family there and my niece was just born at Rush Copley. Hope to meet some of you!! It's just about sunset here and can't believe that in one week I'll b e seeing a spectacular sunset in Key West!!! :rotfl:

Hey,
Ok, it's addictive now to have a place to share the excitement. Jillane, 22 of us fly out of Oakland, CA, we "Pick Up" 4 more on our stopover in New Mexico, and the two sane ones fly in on their own from Washington state. We will be arriving Friday night and staying at the Embassy Suites by the airport. We then have a private mini bus picking us up kit n kaboodle bright and early Saturday.
Sooo exciting!
We have a group room booked at Palo and all the shore excursions are planned. We've had so much rain here in CA this spring that a bit of Caribbean sun will be just the ticket!
Have fun with your planning! :sunny:

Awesome! My fam (19 of them) are flying out of Oakland on Fri. DW and I will be leaving from KC later that day. We're also staying at Embassy Suites that night.

We're all so excited! It's my grandparents' 50th anniv!

Howdy, neighbor!!! DH and I are the ones who hail from Montgomery. We live about 10 minutes from Rush Copley.

I know there's at least one other Chicago family going with us--I think they hail from Wheaton.

I just can't sit still tonight knowing we're going so soon. I'm going to be just useless at work this week!!!

Welcome Jones Family Reunion!!! Any teens traveling with you? Who do you have transporting you from the hotel?? Nothing quite like a bit of troop movement to start off a vacation right, eh? party:

Know what you mean about work this week pearlieq. It just feels like Friday is a major holiday and the whole world should be slowing down to plan for it!

See you at the Port!!

I am at work and looking forward to celebrating my vacation...i really really dont want to work tomorrow...i mean, really really dont...anyway, heading to florida fri am (early). Decided to board Lucy the bassett hound withthe vet because they know her well and if she gets sick again, shes well taken care of

whats everyone wearing for pirate night?

I am seriously "too excited to sleep" now ! Have to work Mon-Thurs- what a waste I am going to be ;)

Welcome aboard to Disneymay06 and linuxwebguy! :cool1:

Ganurse - I never had time to do the pirate costume thing but I have a lovely tropical dress I will wear.

Happy Monday all- one day closer !

Gina, thank you so much for the coupons!

DisneyMay06...never too late to join the party...welcome!

Also, I was just reading on the main board about cruise meets. It said something about how lots of people try to do a 3pm meeting in the Promenade Lounge. I thought we could add that to our list as well. I know that everyone probably won't be able to make it to the "terminal meeting" and the promedade lounge at 3 and deck 7 at 10 but hopefully we can all make it to one of those locations. And if not, I'll try to always have a green ribbon on somewhere, so feel free to say hi if you see me in the elevator. (I mean on the STAIRS! I'll be taking the STAIRS! LOL) I know I'll probably be approaching strangers who are just "accidentally" wearing lime green. Oh well! Hope they don't think I'm too much of a nutcase! (I can just see them now..."Uh, what the heck is a DISboard?")
