Well, I am going to pull Kyle out of school early on Friday. He will actually be upset because they are having some really fun Splashmania day there that he is really looking forward to. I am going to tell him we have to meet Jason and take him to the airport for business. Then, when we get to the airport, we will tell them that everyone is going on a surprise trip. We fly into Dallas first, so they won't know anything at that point. But, when we fly into Orlando they will obviously "know" they are going to Disneyworld and be so excited. Kyle has already been 4 times and Kailey has been 3 times. We are going to stay at the Sheraton by the airport that night and wake up in the morning to drive in to what they think will be Disneyworld . Of course, then we will drive up to the boat and I am sure they will freak out

So that will only be the first surprise. We will go through the whole cruise and then stand in line to get on the buses back to the "airport", but we will really be going to Disneyworld

I am going to have so much fun watching this play out

i love your thinking...thats the kind of planning we do when we want to surprise the kids. our spur of the moment trips are like that though..we took the kids camping down by sea world and geauga lake in auroa, ohio and we told them we had to take granny and her camper there to drop it off to someone who bought it. we pulled into the camp ground and they were like why we here..we then told them it was cheaper to spend the nite in the trailer before we drop it off as it was fairly early in the afternoon and we didn't have to drop it off till early the next morning. they believed everything and then we said lets go for a walk and we proceeded up a hill to act like we was just going to walk into town but we went the back route to the sea world and said awe what the heck lets go in and we pulled out the passes from our pockets and the kids flipped...the enxt morning they was bummed though as they thought we would pack up and leave and when we got up cooked breakfast then went down to shower the kids were like wait i thought we had to drop it off....ROFL..sorry didnt mean to go so long here...i'll shut up now..byw..hope you take a cam corder to record the look on the kids faces. we cant wait to see ambers face when it really happens.

Okay I just zipped the first large suitcase closed and took it off the table. I sure hope it is not over 49 pounds!!!!!! It has the kids gifts that Madison sealed closed yesterday. My printmaster program is missing the install disc of all things and I couldn't make fun labels, so Madison and I had to improvise. We have two large suitcases, one medium and one garment bag. We have a small suit case that I hope can be carried on. It meets the size requirements if you don't measure the wheels!
I am still debating taking my laptop. I have some bills that will be due and the paycheck doesn't get deposited until after we leave. I would also like to download pictures to make sure I have plenty of room left of my memory cards. I have the camera bag and Madison will have her bag of important Madison things.
I still haven't thought of anything for the older kids. Any more ideas out there?

i have that same issue with the bills..i am hoping by requesting my vacation pay early though i can get them paid and avoid taking the laptop and i am just going to try and clear my other memory card and hope between the two it will be enough memory for the camera. will see.

Umm..considering they are all boys and there is 4 of them not sure..maybe hacky sacks or journals? teens are tough to buy for especially boys.

I would call whoever you got your reservations from today. Let them know what day you are leaving.

I haven't gotten mine either. My TA said she just received them and sent them out yesterday. Hopefully I will have them by this weekend.

Give Disney cruise line a call and let them know you have not received your documents yet and also let them know what day you will be leaving. Also call your travel agent if you went thru one and ask them if they have them or not. Disney will either overnite them directly to you if there is time or they will hold them at the port for you. We had this issue the first time we cruised with disney as we was leaving before they sent documents out so they overnited them to us so we would have them before we left.

Ok karen thought of couple other ideas..how about the small cheap travel games or decks of cards? like travel checkers or chess...i know they may have things like that in the club but hey they can go where ever they want then and play and if there is more then one they can rotate between them and you asked ideas i had another idea but dh just interupted me and i lost what it was right now.

Karen..glad i could offer you my brain services. i am bored and tired can ya tell? dh is cooking supper right now but i think i am going to bed after i eat tonite. i haven't done nothing but sit around reading trip reports i am that tired..

and the white legs is me too..looks like we have alot of rain over the next 6 days including the day we head out.

we just found out jon has testing from 930am - noon but we are going to ask the testing people if he can do a second test on one of the other days so we can leave first thing thursday morning as we are hoping to leave before noon.

I HATE bathing suit shopping. I have tried on at least 25 bathing suits in the last two days! Nothing fits! Guess that's part of getting old huh? Anyone else having this problem?

Hello Everyone! For all of you who are stressing out and worrying about everything...get a load of this:

1.) We didn't get passports, and since we just moved, our house is in boxes, so I can't locate our birth certificates...I'll hopefully find them this weekend! We do need our birth certificates since we don't have passports, don't we?

2.) I don't have a bathing suit yet either, and neither does my husband. In fact, he wears a suit every day and his idea of "casual" is not wearing a tie and suit coat, so he doesn't even own a pair of jeans or a pair of shorts...I'll have to buy him a swim suit, several pairs of shorts, some casual shoes and some short sleeved shirts this weekend.

3.) We haven't packed a single thing, our suit cases aren't even out of the closet yet...oh, I just remembered that they are packed...but with junk because we used them to move...so I'll have to unpack them, then pack them back up with our cruise stuff.

4.) Our house is a mess and we still have to either arrange for a house sitter, and/or kennel our 5 pets!

5.) I finally booked our flights into TAMPA last night, now I just need to arrange transportation to the Port.

6.) I also still need to find which boxes my summer clothes are in, unpack them, figure out what I want to take and launder it all. I don't own a dress either, so I guess I'll be shopping for one of those at some point too.

And to top it all off....I have a friend coming in town and staying with us this weekend that I need to entertain, plus I'm a mortgage loan closer, so the last week of the month isn't exactly the BEST time for me to have to do all of the above! But it's fine, I'm cool, I'm calm, it's a vacation!

Do ya'll feel better yet?! LOL!

P.S. Does anyone know when "check out" is on May 12th? I know the ship pulls into the Port pretty early that morning, but what time do they kick you off the ship?

Jackie..i wanna say they kick us off around 730- 8am that morning. and yes you will need your birth certificates if you don't have your passports...have you done a follow-up call on your passports?

and sounds like you will have a pretty busy week..i say for entertainment of your friend well take her shopping with you and let her help you pick and choose stuff for your trip and help ya pack it..

pigglett..yep i do too but i did find me 2 suits this time around..i preferred the shorts or the skirt type this time around and surprisingly i found a couple i liked.

today after work i am going to work on finishing packing suitcases and going to go to the ymca to use the treadmill..i went to bed last nite at 8pm i was soo tired but i feel pretty good today..looks like i am working all weekend this weekend so i am feeling much better about bills. wont know till monday how the 15 yr old schedule will play out. did tell the 15 yr old he needs to start getting his butt motivated and get his stuff done and get his suitcase packed since i will have to have the van loaded up wed. nite to leave on thursday. i think dh said he was going to be doing housework all week next week after the testing so we seem to be good to go so far.


CRSNDSNY..thanx..but you will enjoy your new little bundle of joy soon enough and know that they will get to enjoy a disney cruise sometime in the furture.

OUR DOCUMENTS ARRIVED!!! Yesterday while I was working away the documents arrived... I am excited it is really begining to feel like I am going to be on vacation. So there is 6 days till we head to the airport. I am going to start to feel the stress of having to get everything ready.. But I can do it. I know I can..... I think another shopping trip is needed for this weekend. *have to pick up dh suit that he order last weekend.* The only thing I am still waiting for is DS passport. I guess I can always take him to Orlando (can get him on the plane) then he could spend a week in Orlando by himself. I'm sure a 7 year old could surived by himself. LOL I know his passport will be here by Tuesday......

I agree with Tracy...take you're friend shopping too!

Tracy...I did end up with a skirt type tankini and a one piece swim dress. Don't like the dress style (makes me feel old!), but the top of it holds me up well is why I really bought it.

Yes..they do try to get everyone off the ship early, but definately want everyone off by 9am.
