May 4, 2014 4-Day Bahamian Cruisin the Dream Cruise Meet!

Hi! We are excited to be taking our 1st Disney cruise with you and are excited to participate in the FE too. Question - when are the FE participants finalized? (In other words, how much time will I have to prepare my gifts?)

Thanks much!

I've just joined the DIS (Rookie over here!) and now I see lots of information on the FE exchange in this thread including this message about the cut-off date: "We were planning on a cut off date of March 1...that way it would give 2 months to plan and create."
I've already joined the spreadsheet and updated the rooms/participants.
Super excited!!!!!

Just added us to the FE, very excited. Now I need to plan the gifts, I have no idea but I think something unique to the uk would be a good start.

Thank you very much, excited/nervous about the wedding as it's only the 3 of us.

congrats on your first cruise! Hopefully we will get chance to bump into each other, especially as I will be wondering around in a wedding dress on the 5th lol! xx

Congrats, Bec!

This will be our 1st Disney Cruise too. I have found a TON of information on the boards. I'm unable to post the link since I'm so new to the Boards - but - on the DCL section, under the planning tab there is a link for 1st time cruisers. Loads of helpful information there!
Also, I've spent a fair amount of time on Pinterest as well Googling so that we can be best prepared.

111 days and counting!! :goodvibes

This is our first cruise!! We are so excited and our bringing our moms and almost 2 year old looking for tips and advice and also for more info on the fish extenders stuff!! Thanks in advance

Hello and Welcome!

If you go to the first page of the thread, and go to post number 3, you can click on the thread to get to the spreadsheet and enter your information there. Also, on that same post is a description link as to what Fish Extenders are :)

Advice from those who have dine a cruise any advice on whether you should have a passport? Everything I have read suggest it but I know you can be okay with just a birth certificate and id. What do you all recommend for those who have taken cruises before

The last time we cruised, we used our enhanced drivers licenses. This time though we're gonna get passports. We figure it's just safer that way.
If there were a health issue and we needed to be flown back into the states, the passport would be necessary.

Congrats, Bec!

Thank you! Managed to find the board thank you so much! Me too I'm thinking of putting something a little unique from the UK in as that's where we will be travelling from but other than that I think I need to brush up a little on my craft skills! Xx

We're getting close! :)
Just a reminder... Don't forget to be sure you have all document requirements for customs. Whether it be Enhanced licenses, passports, proper Birth Certificates with the seal...all that stuff...also Minor Authorization forms for those that may need that. If we haven't got them in our posession now, we have just enough time to get that taken care of before we embark on our vacations. Again, Wouldn't want anyone to be turned away at port for lack of documentation. :):thumbsup2

This might be a duh question but what are the minor authorization forms?

There may be instances where you're traveling with minors in "non-parental" situations....
Bringing young ones without their parents
There may issues with those in a divorced state with custody issues (this is a guess by me)
Similar situations like those mentioned above. I've never been in the situation myself, but i'd imagine if any young one is going and the legal custodian is not going with the minor, one of these forms should be filled out.
Best to check with Disney or a Travel Agent

A health care proxy would be a good idea too :)

Hello fellow upcoming cruisers. I am so excited to have found this. I just joined DIS.
This is my first cruise and I cannot contain myself. I know it's early but planning and waiting is half the fun!!
I will be traveling with my husband and 2 little girls!
