May 3rd-10th****Dis Maytees-May Magic send off

Plutofan - thank you so much for the info, I didn't realize they even had a website! Using a credit card will save me so much grief!

Okay... now my very last question... is there a list online somewhere of the current first-run movies that they are showing at the theater on the ship?

Thanks,
:) Dyan

There isn't anything online. But, I just saw a phone number in my Passporter where you can call in and ask.... I'll post it when I can if someone else doesn't get to it first!

:cool1: We are leaving at 4:30 in the morning for the start of our vacation. We'll see everyone on the cruise. Until then safe travels for you all.

Jon

I am getting so excited!:cool1: I only have 4 more days of work. That's the best part. ;)

We have our garage sale this weekend and then I can think about packing. I am getting a pedi on Sun and have to shop for shorts. My to do list is quite long too. We leave for the airport hotel on May 1st in the evening and I took that day off from work to get all the last minute packing and cleaning done.

Okay guys, I can't seem to find my info on what shows are on which nights. I posted a thread and someone told me to look at the new navigators. I tried but they are too small and blurry. Can someone post which shows are which nights?

I'm sleep deprived and I feel like I have no clue what I am suppsoed to do for the cruise:confused3 ! This is our 3rd...you'd think I'd be a little ahead of the game!

Ok, Faith&Hope, here we go...

Saturday - All Aboard, Let the Magic Begin
Monday - The Golden Mickeys
Tuesday - Twice Charmed
Wednesday - Pirates IN the Caribbean Party!
Thursday - Disney Dreams (followed of course by Lumiere's gala dessert buffet)
Friday - Remember the Magic, a Final Farewell

And if you'd like to get a closer look at those navigators, there's a little maginifying button in the upper right hand corner that lets you zoom in. I was excited to see the most recent ones! :)

I just can't believe how excited I am getting! All the last minute preparations are really coming together now. I have my waxing appointment this afternoon :scared1: , so wish me luck! Tomorrow is my haircut appointment. Sometime this weekend I have to cut DH's hair (he's got little hair on top and refuses to go to a professional!), and DS's appointment is Monday. While we're at the mall for that, I have to pick up a few last minute necessities, maybe pay a visit to the Disney Store; DH said yesterday that if I could find a Mickey wallet, he's carry it on the cruise! Tuesday afternoon is my mani/pedi, and then we're off Wednesday morning! :cheer2:

So, I got out my new passporter that I read from cover to cover last week in three days and pulled out the number to call about the movies that are currently playing on board. The CM was very friendly and explained that she can only give me a general idea of movies on board based on what is on right now. Here is what she said is playing right now:

- College Road Trip
- Dan in Real Life
- Enchanted
- National Treasure 2
- Pirates of the Caribbean World's End
- Ratatouille
- Step Up (there was something else in this title but I didn't catch it)
- Chronicals of Narnia
- Game Plan
- Underdog
- Wild Hogs

My plan for this weekend is to watch National Treasure one :wizard:

Sorry for the sketchy spelling, I did this in a hurry.

DH is hoping so badly that Ironman will be playing as it comes into theatres on May 2. You never know, superheroes and Disney kind of go together... this is the type of movie DH and I would normally see on the first nite at home.

I actually have 7 more work days between now and the trip. It should be interesting... DH has a to do list. I also have to run to the mall at some point and drop off some new clothes for alterations. I plan to pick up some rain ponchos today, just in case. I also have a waxing, mani, pedi appointment on Wednesday after work. What is everyone doing with their nails? I think I'm just going to leave them bare for the trip (clear polish) because I find that my polish doesn't last more than a few days... and I don't want to be aggrivated by my nails during the cruise...... I don't want to sit still long enough to reapply!!!!!!!!!

You guys with the waxing appointments are my heroes! :worship:

Whenever I try getting my eyebrows waxed, the person either has the wax too hot, or I bleed! Yikes! I'm scared of getting my legs waxed now; I tried the Nair stuff before our last cruise, and either the hair wouldn't come off or if the hair did come off, the Nair was left on for too long, so my skin wasn't happy!

Misslissa, I find the same thing with nail polish, and I just use clear for my fingernails. Plus, even if it doesn't chip, sun screen kills the color anyway.

I have a mani/pedi tomorrow afternoon since we leave first thing Monday morning. I use color on my toe nails, but I always use a color I own so I can take it with me and touch up if necessary.

Don't we have some folks leaving today?!

 Not exactly what I need to hear right before my FIRST bikini wax! Well, my salon is very good, and my stylist highly recommends the waxers, so I assume there won't be any foul ups.

As far as the nails go, I usually do pale or subtle colors when I know it's got to last. Besides, I have a mani/pedi scheduled for Monday, Formal Night, at the Vista Spa, so this one doesn't have to last the whole cruise. :thumbsup2

Q: Anyone know if the Golden Mickeys Show is the same as the theme park version? We saw Golden Mickeys at HK Disney and it was absolutely fabulous brilliant lovely. Will it be the same? We definitely recommend it.
IMHO: Ratatouille is brilliant in our book. Well worth seeing for those who haven't already!
IMHO: Watched Enchanted the other evening in preparation for what is to come ..and couldn't see the charm...oh well. Might not be our taste.
IMHO: Pirates Worlds End: Oh dear. I think I know this word for word. I am so sad. I will watch it again. And again. And again. And again.
Why am I waiting? For new Indie to be released. A week or so..and we may have been watching him on board! We plan to view at Downtown weekend before we leave for home!
Nails: WHOO HOO! Nail varnish! I cannot wear for work. Have to set good example. So is a waste time at weekend to strip off for Monday. I love for hols to be normal. I might paint em every night. (Well maybe not, cos I realise there is such a lot to do on the Magic lol)
Waxing: Oh yes! I know that one. Take double painkillers and a valium before you get in there! The most annoying thing I think is the way they always ask you...is it the wrong time of the month? (RIIIPPP OWCH>>) Because it always hurts more at that time..cue innocent bored smile. Grr. But oh boy! The results are well worth it.
Eyebrows: I find theading works quite well.anyone else tried it?

I will be glued to that Twopalms webcam tomorrow night. Cos thats the last time the Magic will be passing by without us Maytees on it!

You are very brave. :worship:

I can't imagine even attempting a bikini wax.

Do let us know how it goes.

Re the Flat Stanleys
I have to bring Cow. (I work on a Oncology/Haematology unit and a small tatty foam Cow toy donated from a drug rep has become a superstar and a bit of fun amonst the staff.)
Cow has been on holiday to many places, including Prague, Canaries, India. And we have a photo scrap book to prove it.
But she has never experienced a cruise or a roller coaster. I am charged with obtaining photos of both.
Perhaps she could meet Flat Stanley.

Lyn

It gets worse and the plot thickens. Cow has a stunt double. Because she is too afraid of the rides and seasickness apparently. But only me and one other knows this. I will need all the help I can get. DH is convinced I have lost it. I probably have. But I can see my ticker. And thats the only thing that matters. Oh. And crossing the Atlantic in a safe and timely manner to catch a ship trip.:dance3:

But only tell us if you survive, not the details, please! :rotfl:

I survived to tell the tale! ;) I'm smooth and sleek, and I must say that, like childbirth, I felt the anticipation of the pain exceeded the reality! While I wouldn't chose to do it if it weren't the best option for my purposes, I can actually see myself doing it again! I was a bit puffy for a couple of hours, but now (five hours later) the redness and bumps are almost all gone! Courage, ladies...you can do it, if you want! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you survived your bikini wax...in my humble opinion though...I'll just keep wearing my bathing suits with the little skirts! :rotfl2: Seriously though. I won't even have my lip done. Just the eyebrows for me! And I am mega jealous of all of you getting your stuff done mid-week. Do you think my VP would mind if I go get a pedicure instead of doing my Ops Review presentation? :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: So...I am going with the pedicure either Sunday or Monday. Normally I don't give a hoot about my fingers, but am going to splurge on board and get a manicure Sunday morning (before we dock in Key West).

Have a great weekend all...Not sure how much I'll be on line this weekend. To add to my ever so packed calendar of things to do, my sister just had her second baby so I'm off to Long Island on Sunday to meet my new niece.

No manicure, pedicure, eyebrow, bikini or any other waxing for this girl! What I can't get rid of myself doesn't come off and that is that!!

I admire you all who have taken the plunge and gone whole hog:worship:

We are having dinner with our traveling buddies tomorrow evening. Lisa has been manufacturing t-shirts and printing out door signs. I laminated and put magnet tape on all the door signs and they are now proudly displayed on the inside of our front door. They will all get to choose which ones they want for their doors.

We also did "goodie bags" full of fun and necessary things like sunscreen sticks, note pads, pens, a rain poncho (just in case), extension cords, chap stick, air freshener, sun visors, luggage tags, first aid kits, clothes pins, and all sorts of other stuff. It has been SO much fun putting these together.

I can't believe that one week from tonite none of us will be getting any sleep because we will all be too excited to sleep, just like the family in the commercial.

Can't wait!!!!

Linda

misslissa - thanks so much for the info on the movies, I really appreciate it!

I loved seeing National Treasure 2 in the movie theater last year, I cannot wait to see it again on the ship!

Tell me again who is booked for the Captain Marvin's Stingray Tour. I remember 2 of you doing it together so I signed up. Then someone decided to back out (you really shouldn't have....it would have been more fun with more of us)!! I can't find my paper now with notes and I don't have to time to read through ALL of the pages!

What are you all doing on Key West? We were there 2 years ago and did the butterfly farm and went to the southernmost point for a picture. I have no idea what we are doing. Hmmm...we leave in 4 days, you'd think I'd know by now. I have things planned and then there are the holes....somewhat like my brain! It's together but boy are there holes! 2 kids later.

I'm looking at the countdown to Disney chart we made and it is on 4. YIKES!:scared1: I'm off to pack now....

We are booked for Capt. Marvins. It will be the 4 of us plus my parents. I can't remember who else is booked.
