May 3rd-10th****Dis Maytees-May Magic send off

:cool1: FOUR DAYS TO SAIL - WOOHOO :cool1:

Not you, silly cruisers! heh heh :lmao:

I'm sorry to inform you that the April 26 Eastern Cruisers are one partying bunch. We'll be sailing a week before you, and I can't promise that we'll leave the Magic in "ship-shape." (pun intended). You may have to help the CM's clean up all our beer cans and rum bottles.

But, at the end of our cruise, we'll be sure to wave hello on our way home.

Have a great cruise everyone (that is, if there are any Bahama Mama's left over). :-p

zerog: *Pshaw*... I ain't skeered. Those room ninjas are :thumbsup2

:rotfl: Have a great time, and try to leave some Mickey Bars for the rest of us!

bobbi565 I thought I was having nightmares since the stomach flu just went through our house and I am now a week behind on my carefully planned packing schedule! I think you and I need a drink girl! Good news, if you do forget water shoes, rash guard etc... Ron Jon's is close by! We made a last minute run there last cruise and it all worked out fine!!! Also there is a small mall nearby that will work if anyone really does leave anything behind! Can't wait to see everyone!

Love, love, LOVE Ron Jon's!! Never make the trip without a visit for DH to get a new Hawaiian shirt! :lovestruc

I keep getting worried that I'll forget some documents. Since there are a few components of our trip... and I require specific IDs and documents for each, it is really annoying! I also keep worrying about my health... I'd usually say I am healthy as a horse :rotfl: , but this past month has been horrible! I came down with the flu and then now I have terrible back pain! How could this happen before the trip? :scared1: I hope it gets better soon....... :rolleyes1

Feel better, Melissa! :flower3:

Ha, ha! That's why they dock for so long between cruises, to restock the bars! :woohoo:

Have a fantastic time, and when you turn the ship over to us, we'll show you how to really party!

That was me. Or I should say it was actually DH (Timster).

The original message is on Page 42, Post #625. The tape is made/distributed by Nicole Crafts. I used it this weekend to make door signs for our family and DustinC. It was very easy to cut and use. I'm bringing the remaining with me just in case.

Good Luck!!
I give up on the magnetic tape!!:scared1: I even searched AC Moore's website but it is not on there. I searched under everything! You might have a buy a case and bring it on board for us to buy from you!!
:worship:

I saw both rolls of magnetic tape and sheets of magnetic material...some you could draw or paint on and some that peeled off and could be stuck to other things. It came in packs of 1-3 sheets.

Also......we are going to have a "Flat Stanley" as part of our group!!!!

I answered a post from a Mom of a kindergartener who has a Flat Stanley project. She was looking for someone 'far away' and when I told her I was going on the cruise she jumped at me taking him along.

I asked her if he could be laminated....as some of his adventures may involve water. I somehow think that his adventures may involve a fruity drink.....non alcoholic of course....LOL.

I may need some help with other fun ideas for him. Somehow with this group I don't think we will have a problem coming up with fun things for Stanley to do.

Ok. What in the world is a "flat stanley"? I can make a little bit of a guess at it... but I have never heard the term before?! Is it some sort of character you are going to have travel around with you on the cruise? Kind of like the travelocity commercials? Do you have those where you are?

Wow... I just noticed, that was a lot of questions!

If I had to do something like that, that involved kindergarden... I think I'd be definitely making sure he visited the dessert buffet ;)

Hey Linda! My dd is a first grader and she didn't get to do Flat Stanley, so she said she would help you if you need. She can be very creative.

Misslissa,

In all honesty I am not exactly sure how the whole "Flat Stanley" thing got started here in the states....I think he is the subject of a children's book. Anyway, he travels the world in the company of adventurous folks like me, who include him in their adventures. So, yes....he will be seen in all sorts of locations on the boat.....age appropriate fun of course! LOL

Cruisin' Ears,

I would love to have your daughter's help with this project.

Something tells me we are all going to have fun with Stan.

Linda

My daughter took her cousin's Flat Stanley to Space Camp with her in Huntsville. It was a big hit. He got to do a presentation in front of the class telling where Stanley went (we had mailed him back with a patch from camp on his shirt as well as with enough pencils for the entire class).

You are very kind to do this for the student.

Amy

:goodvibes Oh cool! This is great...

I just googled the Flat Stanley project. It is such a neat idea. I'm sure kids love it... I actually saw a photo of the President with a Flat Stanley... It's interesting what they all come up with.

Your Flat Stanley is going to have a wonderful time!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

I had thought about the green wristband.........I am definitely going to have to make him one. I have to wait until I get him however, so I am certain of his wrist size.

Linda

That would explain the difference in the scale. You're more of an extrovert than you used to be. Sorry couldn't resist. :lmao:

:sad2: Boy that hurt, it took me a few hours to get over that.:sad2: When I got to work I had to ask for a :grouphug: from my co-workers. It took alot of convincing but I finally got one. So, I am better now

Just kidding, the office I work in you have to have tough skin. So, that was nothing. All is :thumbsup2

Jon

By the way down to 39hours 5 min

I can't believe it's so close! We leave on the 30th and are staying a few days before hand at Coronado Springs and going to Animal Kingdom one day. We haven't been to that park yet and with little ones, I think it's a good idea. Anyone been there? Any tips?

As already said, Lion King is a must see. Even though we don't have kids we make sure we see it when there.

I second this one... and the new Nemo stage show is there, which I haven't seen yet. My personal favourite is actually the Bug's Life one in the tree... although I do have to close my eyes when the spiders come from the ceiling until DH tells me it is ok! :goodvibes

Please forgive the questions, but some of the 'stuff' I got is kind of girl vs boy and some of the names (including my kid's) could be both boy and girl so I want to clarify a few...

Morgan - girl?
Logan - boy?
Avery - girl?

Thx. By the way...Kendall (girl), Gavin (boy). :)
Hi,

I can tell you that in this case Morgan is a girl:)

Heather

I love Flat Stanley! I used to do it when I was a teacher. It was so much fun! What a great way to expose kids to all of the things out there! We had a friend mail us their Flat Stanley from their class so that my husband could take him to the set of Spiderman 3. A picture was taken and mailed back!

My goodness, how time flies - are we really crusing next weekend???

Quick question - I need some pesos for the mexican excursion.

I am a vegetarian and the meal at Xcaret is a hamburger or something like that. I read somewhere that the restaurants there only take pesos.

Do they have a "peso exchange" on the ship? Or, do I get them at the port?

TIA,
:) Dyan

I was surprised when Leia's Mom posted that she didn't know about the first day meet! So I thought it would be a good idea to post some info a final time to make sure newcomers are up-to-speed...

1. We've planned to meet on embarkation day at 3:00 in the Promenade Lounge to get to know one another and introduce the kids.

2. We're trying to wear green wristbands to identify ourselves as DISers, so we can recognize one another (especially those who can't make the meet!).

3. CruisinEars is compiling a roster of DIS cruisers. If you'd like to be included, pm her with the names and ages of those in your party, where you're from, your stateroom number, and if you are participation in Fish Extenders.

4. If you want to participate in the Fish Extenders gift exchange, it might be crunched for time to get it done at this point, but post your intentions, pm Leia's Mom, and we will include you!

5. If anyone will be in Cape Canaveral on Friday evening and is interested in meeting up for dinner at Grills, let me know and I will call in our party in advance.

See you in NINE DAYS!! :thumbsup2
