May 3rd-10th****Dis Maytees-May Magic send off

It can be hard to gauge. It depends on what kind of cruise you're on, how crowded it is, etc. And I can understand how it can be even more difficult having to wrangle kids. It also depends on how many photos you're trying to get. If it's for Formal Night, is one photo enough, or do you want one of every background? If there are some characters out, going for a backdrop only photo will save you time.

If you want more than one, I'd factor in at least 30-45 minutes. I don't think we've ever waited in a single line more than 20 minutes, and the longest was probably for Mickey and Minnie together.

I don't know about lifestyle portraits. We only worry about photos on Formal & Semi-Formal Nights.

Thanks for the responses! I definitely want to do formal portraits on formal night and pirate night. One backdrop for the formal portraits should be fine for us. If there is a 20 minute wait, we'll probably have one of us wait on line while the other entertains DS, and then whoever's on line can walkie talkie when it's getting close to out turn.

I'm pretty steamed at United this morning. If you haven't seen it, they've decided to charge $25/bag if you check more than one bag per passenger, starting May 5, 2008. If I had known about this little gem, I wouldn't have bought the stupid one way (upgraded to Economy Plus) ticket for our return trip. Here's the policy:

 :headache:

Brandie-they're not the only ones...with Spirit, you have to pay for ALL bags now. Now, if you do it online before the flight, it's like $5 per bag for the first two, but still...

Secondly...your hubby is off the hook for High Tea...I moved the spa treatment. :) Thanks for thinking of me.

Well, on this link, it looks like we're fine because we bought our United tickets before today: http://www.united.com/page/article/0,6722,52519,00.html

And DH will be tickled pink he won't have to go to High Tea! :rotfl: Thanks for coming with me!

Oh, and wasn't that an awesome ending to the game??? DH was grumpy because he picked the other team and feels he got gipped. *chuckle*

Brandie

YES...AWESOME ending to the game. :cool1: I know a lot of people bet on the Giants because of the point spread...they were major underdogs. We couldn't jump up and down properly though. The kids were conked out and we didn't want to wake them up. Of course, they wore their Giants jerseys again today. Kendall wasn't real happy about it, but it is a MUST if only to bust the daycare center's Director who is a major Eagles Fan. :lmao: And I got to bust a few folks that were Patriots fans too which was an added plus. :rotfl:

Bumping us back to the first page. ;)

For all our fellow cruisers who haven't checked out this thread for a while, check out page 27 post 398 for the roll call.

Only 14 days till I can attempt to make my Palo ressies! :woohoo:

Can you add us to the roll call list? The PM feature doesn't seem to be working for me -- it keeps giving me an error message. So here's our info: Steve & Karen from Oregon. DS 8 and DD 5 (a few days shy of 6 by cruising time). Room 6036.

Thanks!

K.

You need a few more posts before you can PM, that's all. Hang around here and that will quickly be taken care of! :rotfl:

We have convinced our good friends (DF?) and neighbors to come along also! Well, actually she was on board a long time ago but we finally convinced him. They booked on Friday!

Anyway for those who were looking to pair their kids with kids of similar ages, they will be coming with their DS (5) and DD (4).

WOW it is so much fun to have someone close by to plan with!!

Awesome! Another 5 yo boy for DS to play with!! There are getting to be quite a few of those on this cruise.

I'm sure I mentioned it at some point  but my twins (b/g) will be 5 in March. I think they're going to spend LOTS more time in Oceaneer's Club than last year. :thumbsup2 They're even looking forward to it so that is wondemous news.

Talk to you all soon. Gotta go to bed. The new job (and commute) is exhausting! So much to learn and traffic is icky!

Dawn, I sent you an email. *wave*

I am so excited!:cheer2: I just called Disney and was able to get my mom and dad's dinner changed from late to main with us.:cool1: :cool1: That has been the one thing hanging over our heads. How could we go on a cruise and not even eat together? I was afraid I would be running for Rockin bar D to get that changed. Now I will probably just have to run to get Palo ressies.

:worship: to Loreliegh at Disney for finding that opening.

I just updated the roll call with gummyvites info. We have now had 13 families pm me with their info. Makes it nice to know kids and ages so we can meet early on.

I absolutely noted your two 5 yo's from earlier posts!! DS has never met twins before, so I think he'll be really excited to meet a brother and sister who are both 5!:teacher:

Hi Dawn,

There are so many 5 year olds on this cruise. My son turns five in March also (March 6)...We live in Roxbury NJ, where are you? I am so excited, less than three months!

Did anyone else get a snowstorm today? I have an hour drive as it is... and now we are getting snow and freezing rain. I just keep reminding myself about the Caribbean.

So, I was sitting here today minding my own business, and had such great luck!!!! :cool1:

We hadn't booked our flights yet for the trip, partly because we just booked the cruise last week, partly because DH didn't get his passport yet and I wanted to make sure he did, and partly 'cause there just weren't any good rates.

We have the option of flying either out of Toronto or Buffalo, and usually wait to see what is going to work out best. Buffalo is a longer drive for us, 2 hours, but usually half the price than Toronto. :wizard:

I checked the rates this morning for the two of us out of Toronto... $800 total. Went to lunch, got a West Jet Seat Sale email, so I checked it out. They had gone down to $500. :dance3: I couldn't get ahold of hubby, so after a few phone calls, I just booked it... :wizard:

When I checked back about a half hour later, the prices had gone back up to $650!!!!! I feel like I just won the lottery!!!!!!!!!! :cloud9:
