May 3rd-10th****Dis Maytees-May Magic send off

Brandie,

I am SO sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Sinus infections are miserable. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

We have been busy entertaining my niece and her boyfriend for the past few days. Although I love having houseguests, it can be exhausting.

We plan on not doing much this weekend, except for Sunday when we will be visiting with some of Lisa's cousins at a cookout given by her uncle.

Happy weekend to all!

Linda

We're trying to travel at least every year, so I'm left trying to decipher from my hubby's grunts ;) what appeals to him.

You're married to one of those, too? :rotfl:

I'm glad to see some action over here, the CC board is pretty dead for this cruise.

My parents just decided to book, too, so we now have a multi-generational thing going on for this cruise. It should be fun :) They booked a Cat 4, and wanted a Cat 3, but none were available. My mom wanted us to get adjoining rooms but I told her unless she was willing to take a Cat 6 or pay the difference for us on a Cat 4, we couldn't afford it. They kept the Cat 4 and we're still in a Cat 6

*chuckle* Are you thinking of checking at the port about the price of an upgrade? Are your parents also bringing children?

I wonder if there are any 1 bedrooms that connect to another room... *hrmm* They couldn't be the CAT 3's at the back of the boat, so that drastically narrows down the choices....

Brandie

No other kids. My parents just want the larger space, but I think they will be fine in the Cat 4. I know that the Cat 6 will be the largest cabin we will ever have been in :)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! And feeling well. The kids are out of school for the summer now so, I can't post as much. I am thinking of trying to "sneak" in a Wonder 4 night in September. Anyone have any info on the Wonder? I have heard some negative things on the cruise critic site but, some tend to be a tad negative over there. Any info would be great --good or bad. Thanks.

Boy did you choose the right group of people to ask! Most of us on this thread (me, Brandie, Linda) just got OFF the 4-night Wonder (4/22) and we had a blast which is why we booked the 7-night...

LOVED it is an understatement. I attached my trip report so you can see what we thought...this is with 2 4-year olds.

Enjoy.

Lisa and I had an absolute blast on the Wonder. It was by far the best vacation that we have ever had. Everything was very elegant, nicely done and the service top notch.

With the exception of a few menu items at a few meals, the food was superb and Palo phenomenal.

We thought the entertainment was amazing all the way around.

We simply cannot wait to go again......it is going to be a long wait until May 3.

Heya, all!

I'm back from WDW and finally able to get over the attack of the sinuses... I think my allergies flared up due to the fact the Marriott Convention Center was under construction and the dust flying was the problem.

The weather was wonderful! It barely sprinkled the entire time. Riverside, as always, was beautiful and so nice to get back to at night. I only made it to Magic Kingdom and Typhoon Lagoon, but that was more than enough walking for me.

Brandie

Glad you're feeling better...just 10 more days until Kyle and I go just the two of us......CANNOT WAIT!

Welcome back Brandie! I am glad you are feeling better.

Thank you all for the feedback on the Wonder.

Dawn I enjoyed reading your trip report and your kids are so cute! Did you ride Soarin at EPCOT? My kids really enjoy that one.

We also had a blast on our 7 night on the Magic. I was taken aback by a couple of trip reports on CC about the Wonder. I just wanted to find out if there was a huge difference in the ships or just a huge difference in the people giving the reports lol.

*chuckle* I can just imagine the two of you attacking the parks... Woohoo! Can you imagine the freedom of wriggling through the crowds and not worrying about the kids getting lost???

I second Dawn's kids being cute!

Now I gotta go over to CC and see what those heretics said! ;)

:goodvibes I think everyone makes their own good time on the ships regardless of which cruise company you choose...that's just my 2 cents.

The ships are identical, I believe with only some minor differences (i.e. Triton's vs. Lumiere's; art deco/art nuveau (sp?), scoop's vs. goofy's galley (or something like that).

Thanks for the comments about the kids. I think they're pretty darn cute too! :rotfl:

No, we didn't get to do Soarin'. Kendall isn't quite tall enough. I'm hoping she will be by September when the family goes again.

Brandie-I already warned Kyle that this was not going to be a relaxing trip. Definitely a GO GO GO...especially since we're on property and going to taking advantage of the extra magic hours...at least the ones in the morning.

Ciao all!

Wonder also has the sprinklers, whereas Magic doesn't yet. Next refit, the sprinklers will be added to the Magic.

Hey, Dawn, I was BY MYSELF this last trip and didn't make the EMH!!! :rotfl: How bad is THAT???? And I still haven't made it to Soarin'!

May as well jump right in here!

I found this thread of all you folks going on the May 3-10 Western Cruise. We will be there too! This is our first cruise and our oldest son, daughter-in-law and her family convinced us to go. We have never been on a cruise before but I'm reading a lot of nice comments of those who have, and have seen lots of pics from when our daughter-in-law went. We'll have a group of somewhere around 15 in our family on this cruise and Karen and I decided to get a nice stateroom with a open Veranda. I was in the Navy 21 years and was NEVER on a ship! We are looking forward to this great adventure and hope to meet you all somewhere along the line! We will have our 2 granddaughters along too ages 8 and almost 2 at the time.

George (and Karen)

Welcome aboard, George and Karen! Can't wait for the cruise, especially since we've passed the one year mark. There are lots of fun characters on this sailing. If you haven't already, go back to the beginning of this thread and read everyone else's introductions to get acquainted. Hopefully, as we get a little closer to the big day, people will start getting chatty again.

I was looking to check in on the thread that I started for this same sailing. There is another thread, with a small but dedicated group of us posting fairly regularly. Most of us on that particular thread met on the previous cruise that we were on.....4/22/07-- 4 day Wonder.

In my little....or not so little party are myself ( Linda ) and my partner Lisa. This will be our second cruise and our second on Disney. We are sailing with 4 of our best friends. They sort of looked at us sideways when we said that we were going on a Disney Cruise. When we returned and they heard all the stories and saw all the pictures all 4 wanted to know when we could all go.....so we booked the Western May 3-10. We all have Cat. 5, Deck 7, midship, starboard cabins.....7568-7572. We are all truly excited.

On the thread that I started there are several families with small children traveling. If I could find it ( it tends to get buried ) and I knew how, I would link it here. I know it will turn up!

We need to plan a meet while we are aboard. I always enjoy meeting other DIS families. It will be great getting to know everyone throughout the rest of the time we have to wait.

Hope to hear from you all soon!

Linda

This is so it can be seen by everyone on the other thread about this cruise!

There is another group, with lots of small children traveling. Now we will have even more DIS families to get to know.

Anyone know if Cat has decided to join us or not??

Take care everyone,

Linda

Hey, Linda! Long time no see! :rotfl:

Myself, DH, and DD (who will be 3) will be on this cruise, too. We sailed with Linda, too. Cat 5 on Deck 7 again, exactly mid-ship, on one side or the other! :)

*wave* Bath time for baby!
Brandie

Hey I didn't realize there were 2 threads for this sailing! Shall we merge?

We sailed the Magic on 4/28/07 Eastern and booked this cruise while on board. I will miss the 3rd sea day but, DH wants to try the other route. We have 6 children-- ages at time of cruise DDs -13, 12 & 10 and DSs 6, 6 & 8

The kids will not find out about this criuse until Christmas. They are going to be thrilled. We had such a fantastic time on our first DCL cruise.
