May 3rd-10th****Dis Maytees-May Magic send off

Hey! Welcome aboard to Linda's thread! Anyone who knows how to merge the two, I say merge away! I am so excited that there are so many more Disers on this cruise. I am definitely up for a meet while we are onboard! We will have to plan that.

Linda, we are five decks directly below you in 2568! We did the 3 night in January to get our feet wet in room 2558 and loved it so much that we booked the May 3 - 8 just weeks after we got home. Check out my trip report to understand why we did not book onboard. We definitely plan to book onboard next year!

I saw lots of kids who will be 4 - 6 on the other thread, which will be very exciting to my DS who will be 5 at the time of the cruise.:yay:

We booked our second cruise days after getting home from our first. We wanted to re-book onboard, but bought jewelry in Nassau and just didn't have enough left for the deposit.

Our friends are really excited about cruising with us and are counting the days. Our goal on this cruise is to dine at Palo as often as we can!

Take Care,

Linda

We didn't eat at Palo last time. We weren't sure how much time the kids would spend in the clubs so, we didn't want to book anything. I think we will try it next time. We really enjoy spending time as a family but, that can be our 1 adults only meal. How is the food?

The food a Palo was phenomenal as was the service. We started our Palo day with brunch.....huge shrimp, crab legs, claws, salads, cheeses, breads, fruit, caviar, smoked salmon, in all tons to eat, and that is just the first course. After that I had pancakes and Lisa had Eggs Benedict. We each ordered a lunch entree, the sliced tenderloin. Then came the dessert buffet......to many selections to describe, but all totally delicious and many chocolate related.

We had the same server for brunch and dinner, and we were celebrating our 6th anniversary onboard. As we had a Bellini with the brunch, Sean made sure that there was one waiting for us that evening. For dinner I had the warm shrimp appetizer and Lisa had the ceasar salad. It was followed by the rack of lamb for me and the filet for Lisa. We both commented on the fact that we had not had pasta carbonara in years, Sean overheard us talking and brought us one to share.

Sean then brought us dessert. He brought 2 chocolate souffles, one with vanilla and one with chocolate sauce. He also brought Tiramisu, Pannacotta and a dessert pizza.

Needless to say, we rolled out of the restaurant both times that day. We were not supposed to do both in one day, but we were on the cruise that had to return to port and the Sea day was the first day instead of the last. They were able to put together brunch 2 full days before they had to. I still do not know how they pulled it off, butt hey did and it was amazing.

OK who else is hungry right now? lol Sounds like I will be trying Palo next time.

As I said in a previous post, we are looking to dine at Palo as much as we can on this cruise. We are shooting for all 3 brunches ( and I believe I am correct that there are 3.....2 on the at sea days and one on the morning of Key West) and at least 2 dinners. We have 3 cabins so we can try to book one each for each cabin. Lisa and I can book at 90 days as we are returning cruisers, but our friends will have to wait tuntl 75 days out. Hopefully nobody in our party will have a problem booking.

If we do, we will wait it out when we get onboard.

OMG! Wasn't Palo AMAZING? Our server was Zoran, and he was fantastic. He too seemed to think that in addition to the items that we ordered, it was necessary for us to sample pretty much the entire menu. I've never had so much food at a single meal! Since we did a 3 night, there was no Palo brunch, so I am looking forward to sampling it next May. I am a major brunch lover!!!

Anyone use the fitness center onboard? I'm wondering what kinds of machines they have.

For those of us with kids, the earlier we arrange a meet, the better. I know my DS will be much more eager to play in the Oceaneer Club if he knows some friends there with whom to play! I can't believe how many 5 year olds there will be from this group at the time of the cruise. I have scanned the two threads and made a list of all the posters and who's in their parties with ages and names if available. Before we cruise, I would love to PM it to everyone and have everyone fill in all the missing information.

Hey Bobbi! Sorry we haven't been in touch- been dealing with my Grandmother who suffered from a stroke last year, plus the normal craziness of life. Lost your e-mail but shoot me one at jdabi9700@yahoo.com so we can get the boys together again.

Happy Mother's Day to you and all the Mom's out there!

I've tried this email, but haven't gotten a response. Are you guys ok out there? We're having a kids get together at our place on 6/16 to enjoy DS's new Rainbow Play System and would love for you guys to come!

Welcome aboard, George and Karen! Can't wait for the cruise, especially since we've passed the one year mark. There are lots of fun characters on this sailing. If you haven't already, go back to the beginning of this thread and read everyone else's introductions to get acquainted. Hopefully, as we get a little closer to the big day, people will start getting chatty again.

Thanks! I can't wait! I have read most of the previous ones, but have to start watching more so I won't miss any good info!

Thanks again...the "George" part of GeorgeandKaren

I haven't read all the posts yet, but I'm excited to say my family will also be on this cruise! It will be our first cruise, and I just booked it two days ago. We're on deck 6, category 8 stateroom. Sailing will be me, Maura, DH Lorne, and two DDS, 7 and 5 at time of sailing. Any other similar age girls in this group yet?

We've been to WDW in May/06 and May/07, and we (ok, I) have become addicts, so a Disney cruise seemed like the next step. Not sure how I'm going to make it through the next 11 months, though...Since I've been reading the trip reports, the reviews on cruise critics and watching DCL videos on youtube daily for the past month. I must be stopped!! My DH thinks I'm a lunatic. :sad2:

Any other first time cruisers on board?

It only gets worse after the cruise! lol. Welcome to the roll call.

Just got back from our adults only trip to WDW...we had a great time. Of course, I'm exhausted! :rotfl: Passed out/slept at the airport and on the plane and it took about 30 seconds to fall asleep once I got into bed. Totally worth it though. It was great and the crowds weren't too bad. -- Either that, or I'm getting REALLY good at fastpass and hitting the rides at the right time!

I would imagine you'd still be asleep, from how hard you were running. Has hubby recovered yet?

I'm glad you had a great time!

I don't mind the crowds as much when I don't have my kids with me. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip. Did you find it to be hot? It has warmed up a bit here in the last week. The kids and I have been hanging out at the pool a lot. I am fighting the urge to book a 4 night on 9/2. May is just so far away! My kids are still talking about the cruise in April. One of my 5 year olds keeps telling me we need to go back to the Mickey Mouse ship! He tells me #9 is the pool and #7 is the cabin. It is so cute.

DH is in NY this week. My sister comes to town on Thursday and we leave for our trip on Sunday. I have not starting packing yet but, I did pick out all of my outfits. That is the hardest part for me. I will be back late on the 30th. Talk to you all later!

*chuckle* I just requested a quote for Sept 2008 on the cruise after Magic gets out of dry dock... For my mom and my family... 2 cabins, no less.

Oh vey... I think I'm addicted!

Maybe I should turn off the email subscriptions to "cheap" cruises? My hubby isn't thinking these are too cheap! In the same email, there was a 4 day Land & 3 day sea in the Walt Disney suite... 9 THOUSAND dollars!!! I just about fell over!

*wave* Talk to you later!

lol.

Anybody want to know how much the quote was? Cat 6 & Cat 11.

Brandie

Kyle (the bum) took off today to recuperate. I'm working (ICK). I couldn't even think about scheduling another trip (other than the 3 (plus the one not scheduled yet that will be scheduled))...Kyle would shoot me and I rather value my life. :rotfl2:

Well, I put the deposit for the Sept 29, 2008 7 day to Costa Maya. Wish me luck with my fast talking!

Here's my spiel so far:

1. My mom has generously offered to pay for Fiona in her Cat 11 room, which makes the price for the cruise equal to the 4 day we just did.

2. We'll pay for the tips for kiddo, because I think that is fair and correct.

3. If we absolutely have to, after the May cruise, we can cancel and get all monies back.

4. We get 2 days at CC, which makes me very happy!

5. Going on a cruise next year for our anniversary gives him a pass for this year AND next year's anniversary.

6. Mom is tickled pink to be invited to cruise with us, and is more than happy to play Grandma.

Whatcha think? I personally think I need to wait until next week to let him know about the deposit because of his absolutely monstrous week right now... As it is, munchkin and I are going out of town for Father's Day (returning that night) so he can get his homework for 2 classes and his overtime for his job done. Oh, and we have friends coming in from out of town that are staying for a night, right after we get on a plane, no less.

I also think before I head out of town I will make a run to his favorite restaurant to have take-out in the fridge for him. I'll take any kind of brownie points I can right now. I'd make him a cake, if he'd eat it. *sigh*
