May 3rd-10th****Dis Maytees-May Magic send off

Hi, my family will also be on this cruise. Me (Sheila), hubby (Dave), DS11, DD7, my mom and dad. My son's birthday is also May 1st. It will be our first Disney cruise and I can hardly wait. My family has to keep reminding me we have over a year before we sail. Thank goodness I have people like all of you to share in my excitement!

Welcome aboard, imheather! Great choice; my travel agent also said it was a great time to cruise. We'll definitely have to hook up 5yo Jake with my 5yo Joel and jdabi's 5yo DS. See you on the meet thread!

That would be great- having play buddies makes a big difference I think.

Bobbi- I just noticed, you're from Columbia, MD? We are too. What a coincidence! :)

Good morning, everyone! Just giving us a friendly bump! Only 401 more days! :)

Hi, We're on that cruise too. Booked it about a month ago and kept looking on this site but never found anyone booked for it so I thought we'd be on our own!! There will be me, DH and DS who will be 9 by then. You'll probably spot us, we'll be the very pale skinned family with bright red sunburn from the UK!!!

Welcome aboard, sue! Just my daily bump...any more shipmates ready to check in?

Hey gang,

Let's get to know one another a little better! How about we post some cruise related questions for the rest of the group to answer. I'll start...

How many cruises have you been on (Disney and non) and which was your favorite?

This will be my second cruise, the 3 night Wonder last January being my first. We LOVED it and can't wait for next May. We decided on a cruise vacation when DS kept wanting to board the big ships in Baltimore's Inner Harbor, and then wanted them to sail!

This will be our 6th cruise (2nd Disney). Our favorite cruise was a 10-day Mexican Riviera cruise on HAL. We also are going to be taking our first Princess Cruise next summer for my parents' big birthday -- both my folks turn 60 next summer, and they want a family vacation. :) Anyone been on Princess?

Here's my question: "On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you love sea days?" We're a 10 for sure! Sea days are our favorite part of the cruise!

This will be our sixth Disney cruise (unless we are able to swing a 3 or 4 day before May 2008, which seems so far away.). Back in the 1980's, I cruised on the Big Red Boat - no comparison at all with DCL.

I agree with AlexandNessa - sea days are a "10" for sure!

Hi,

This is our 2nd Disney Cruise. Like I stated before we went last May and LOVED it.
I also went on a Carnival many years ago. I was young and had a great time.
I like seadays alot but I really like the ports.
On our last cruise my son fell off his bunkbed and needed stitches...(Lots of them). We could not go in water or sun for the rest of the trip. It kind of but a damper on things.
One thing I do not like about sea days is that the pools are so crowded.
If I had to have one complaint about the Disney Cruise it would be the small pool size.

Since I was on a three night, we didn't have sea day, however we weren't too thrilled with Nassau, so were only off for two hours, so it was almost like a sea day. I can't wait for an actual sea day where all the onboard amenities are available...I anticipate a 10!

How about a question from lunsusie and imheather?

Not sure why your ticker is not showing up, imheather. The code that appeared on your last post looks correct. Did you go into User CP and enter it under your signature? I couldn't figure out which of the three codes to use, so I tried each one and then clicked "Preview Signature" unitl it appeared on the preview.

Heather, I figured our your coding problem:

Put a "[" at the start of the code, right before 'url' so it looks like this:[http://" so it looks like this: http://tickers.TickerFactory....

See if that works for you!

Good morning, everyone. :)

Hope everyone enjoys the holiday this weekend (if you're so inclined to celebrate). My hubby and I both work 24x7 jobs and have to work this weekend. :( And, what's up with the cold front? Geez, we had flurries this morning and more expected tomorrow. Is this April or February? Not so sure on that one!

Hi all,
I have to agree with you on the weather. We are in Michigan and my kids were not happy to have to wear their snow boots to school yesterday.

You can probably all tell I am new to this so I will apologize now for any mistake I make on this thread. When I am done here I am going to try to add a time line. My 6 and almost 10 year olds are better on the computer than me.

Back to the number of cruises! I cruised twice as a teen with the family and once with my husband after we were married so this will be my fourth cruise. We love Disney!!! We have done Disney World three times in four years. I have been trying to talk the kids into going on the cruise but everytime we start to plan our vacations they beg until I give in and we do the World one more time. My luck changed this past February when my husband's boss sent us to Key West for a week. We were staying on the private island Sunset Key and we had to take a shuttle boat to get to Key West. One day our shuttle got held up while they were tying up the Magic. We got to tool around the water looking up at the boat. To make a long story short the kids agreed to go on the cruise for our next vacation. I had it booked about two weeks later.

See you all May 3, 2008!
Sheila

Alright, this is ridiculous! I just awoke to a dusting of snow...and Maryland is officially a southern state, mind you. On Monday, I was driving about with the sunroof open and the windows down thinking, "This is just like the weather in the Bahamas when we were on the Wonder!" Grrrrr....Castaway Cay, here I come; only twelve months and three weeks away.

Ok, I'm thinking of DS splashing in the waves with DH, while I lounge on a beach chair sipping a konch kooler and snapping photos, counting the hours until my cabana massage. That's more like it:cool2:

Good morning, cruise mates! Hope everyone's holiday was happy! :)

It is a rather less-than-balmy 33 degrees here this morning so I'd really like to know why all the fuss about Global Warming! ;)

It's been a rough couple of weeks at work for us, and that coupled with this weather is making me wish the year away before this cruise. We are going to Orlando in about 3 weeks though, and I am getting excited about that. It feels good to start finding the sunscreen to pack when I actually had to warm up my car this morning. :)

P.S. Did anyone watch The Sopranos last night? I am just getting home from work and am off to watch it now. :)
