Hi Jodie,

Thanks for time line help but I could still not get it to work. I am a bit rushed and tired the past couple weeks so I will give it a whirl after my kids head back to school.
We went to Hershey Park for Easter and it was freezing....
So what did you think of Sopranos? I loved it! I love Carmelas role. I hate Tonys sister but I guess we are suppose too. I was so nervous the whole show that the little girl was going to drown in the lake.
WHere do you live in Jersey? We are in Morris County.

I am sorry to report that we were very disappointed in The Sopranos on Sunday. We are waiting for it to pick up next week, hopefully! Of course, this is what we said for all of Season 4 as well. We'll see!

Hello all,

I need some advice from my fellow cruise mates! Disney is offering the free dining plan this year for 8/26-9/22. My kids don't start school until after labor day and we were thinking of going 8/26-9/1. I have actually booked it but am undecided as to what to do. We normally go to Disney in November because it isn't too hot and the crowds are down. Has anyone been to Disney World the end of Aug? How hot is it? What are the crowds like? I am thinking of cancelling and extending our vacation before our cruise. We are already planning on coming down on May 2 and staying at the Ron Jon Resort but I am thinking maybe we will come down on Wed. or Thurs. That would mean pulling my kids out of school for a longer period but my kids are great students and I never worry about what they are missing at school when I am giving them the experience of traveling. Also my son's birthday is May 1st so I thought we could do something really cool for that. We have done my daughter's birthday twice at Disney. Any idea's or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sheila.

I have never been down for August, but I have gone just before Labor Day and stayed the week. We found it to be fine and not as hot and sticky as all of July! I have a coworker who went at the exact same time. He has 2 young boys, and he said it was the perfect time to go. The crowds were light as many children are back in school by then. One thing he said was that there was a threat of a hurricane. One day it got rainy and windy, and that managed to clear everyone out as well. So, the only thing to consider is that is Hurricane Season! Go if you want to ... we certainly have never regretted a vacation!

I can't believe how excited I am this far in advance!! I just ordered us matching Mickey logo Tshirts from Disney shopping. I'm looking at their new matching cruisewear outfits for a family portrait onboard, but I want to see what's left when they're marked down. If they run out of our sizes by then, I can still order next year's outfits in time for the cruise.

We booked this cruise this week. It will be me, DW, DD (then 6), and DS (then 3).

It will be our first cruise. Can't wait.

We went on the Western last May and while we were in Key West we went shopping and went on the conch train tour...(a little boring for the kids)

Next May we are going to walk around with the kids and than take them back to the ship and do a little bar hopping

Key West was a real cool place.

LIsa and I just got back from the 4/22/07 4 night backward wonder cruise. We had SUCH a good time. We told our friends who were originally very skeptical. They couldn't ever imagine taking a DISNEY (said with a slight sneer) cruise. They saw all our pictures and heard how nice the adults only areas and Palo are and they wanted to know when we could all go! So, we went ahead and booked. Then another couple heard that we were going and want to come too! So, we will be a fun loving group of 6 and we just cannot wait!

Anyone else sailing on the 5/3/08 Western too???

And while I was on the phone, I found out the following information:

Final payment is due February 18th, 2008.... BUUUUT...

Seeing as we're REPEAT cruisers we could register for shore excursions, Palo, and the nursery online (if we've paid our bill) on February 3rd.

Linda, your friends on their first cruises can register 15 days after you--February 18th.

Ok, now I'm seriously jazzed up. I was kinda down this morning because I had to cancel my November cruise (hubby insisted), but now I get to go with you guys!!!! Yay! Thanks for making my day!

Anywho...hopefully they still gave you the on-board discount too and the stateroom credit. Don't forget that if you transfer your cruise to Dreams Unlimited, they give ANOTHER stateroom credit. We're up to $400 which is just too cool!

I wonder when we get our Castaway Club #s and stuff or if they just 'know' that we are... Hurray!!! And hopefully, Fiona will be potty trained so she can go to OC versus FR.

The DCL lady was starting to get annoyed with me, actually, with all the times I checked on the On-board credit! *chuckle*

I am sooooo crossing my fingers that Fiona will be potty-trained. There have been so many times she has almost gotten the point, then gotten scared off. The day care is helping with giving her peer pressure to use the potty, but she's still nervous because of all the noise when you flush. Oh, and scared about falling in... Her little hiney is tiny!

I believe we get sent the Castaway Cay membership....

Oh, and Linda, I'm surprised, too! Hubby was the one who signed us up, though! Oh, and the stinker has now forgotten all the reasons I got so irritated with him, and says he had a good time on the cruise!!! You know what? Just roll with it. I'm lucky it's so easy for him to forget the bad parts (he almost got hit with a pillow or chased around the deck with a squirt gun full of ice water a few times!). And you know, the next time, it will be better because he will hopefully remember things I tell or show him. *another crossing of my fingers* All things considered, he had some version of nice clothes to wear to dinner, and he bought himself a Goofy pirate hat that night, so I guess it is all good... And he has replaced, "You didn't..." with "I didn't hear you say..." in his vocabulary! He was also the BOMB about taking Fiona to play while I did things, and that was really nice. He was a great "Other Half" when it came to being Daddy. He was just Grumpy!!!

And I definitely know to not have us fly in on a red-eye!!! Geesh! That didn't work at all!

Actually, I probably annoyed Kyle more than he annoyed me. I have two vacation modes...go go go (like Disney) and rrreeelllaaxxx (like when we're at the beach). This was a go go go v acation. Plus, I DID make him run back to the room a few times for batteries...autograph books...all in the first night. After that, I was much smarter. And like you, we managed some time for ourselves...he did beer tasting while I took the kids to see "Meet the Robinson's"...and he stayed with them while they napped (which wasn't a huge stretch since he was happy to take a rest too) while I wandered and did the adult pool for a bit. But then, we're like that at home too...he goes out with his friends...I go out too. As for dress...that's never an issue since I tell him what he needs to pack. He'd be happy in t-shirts & jeans.

Are you guys doing Late/Second seating? Dawn and I just linked our reservations to sit together, which incidentally moved us into Main (we were waitlisted).

You know, a YEAR is a LOOOOONNNNG time to wait... But if we're strong, we can do this! If I just figure I have that long to get just the right outfit, I should be fine, right?

Dawn, Gavin looked wonderful in the pirate outfit, by the way! I don't think I mentioned this before, but my brother's name is also Gavin... My mother had a Camelot thing going for my siblings' names. Gawain and Guinevere from the Arthurian legends were her inspirations. Gwen (younger sister) and Gavin (baby brother). Evidently, the spellings were twisted to "modern" spellings.

Ok, back to work... listening to training, no less.
