Matthew and Corinna - Sorry about the mix up with the name of the suite. No disrepect to Roy but WALT is even better. We are so anxious to meet and see your luxurious "pad" too. Time of 1:30 is super with emmak and me. Cheese and crackers sound great, and if we can think of anything else we'll bring it along too besides our wine. Casual serving is also terrific idea. We're game for anything.

Hey everyone - it's not our home! Disney is providing the surroundings and we are fortunate to be spending a week there! It really is not an imposition and we don't feel it is "generous" on our account. It is pretty plain we are lucky enough to be spending a week in the company of a great bunch of friendly people. We are not any more generous than the originator of the idea or everyone else who jumped in to participate! You know us Brits - no more thanks needed

Now (change of subject) - Rae and I remember corresponding when this May 3 thread had very few contributions - particularly compared to the May 10 thread (by a factor of 10).... Now it appears we're only 80 behind. WE CAN CATCH UP!!!

You have that right Matthew!!! The Walt Disney Suite, say it ain't so, and I have too miss it??? Here's why!!!

On a more serious note, in the past 24 hours or so, I have had to make some heart wrenching decisions, but the one I made just a short while ago, was the easiest one I've had to make. My DW received a phone call from my Dmom this afternoon while I was at work, DW called me at once and told me what Dmom said. My Dmom said that if I really wanted to go on the May 3rd cruise and cancel our August cruise to go ahead, and she would go at another time. That was not going to happen!!! My Dmom needs to get away as bad as we do, she is 67 and still works full time as a private duty nurse. She takes care of a 9 year old boy from 10pm to 6am 5 nights a week, so that the boy's mom can get some sleep. The boy's mom is a single parent, and the school nurse, where the boy attends school, and is there just in case her son needs medical attention, he is on a breathing machine of some kind. Anyhow, after taking care of this boy all night, my Dmom, then has to go home and take care of my seriously ill step-father, she never knows what she will find when she gets home in the morning.

Even though I would love to be you all from May 3-10, I would feel so guilty knowing that my Dmom was not going to be able to get away herself for at least one week this summer. My Dmom has already made arrangements for someone to come in during the day and check in on my step-father while she is gone in August, so she can join us. We called her last night to see if she could change her vacation from August to May, but she was unable too, there wasn't enough time to find someone to replace my Dmom with her patient.

I sure hope, I get to see some photos of your Monday gathering, in the Walt Disney Suite. I hope everyone has a BLAST!!!

So sorry for all your troubles and especially mom's. You are doing the right thing for sure to think of your mom's needs first. As much as we wish you could be with us, it is much more important for you to take care of matters on the homefront at this time. I'm sure we'll hitch up together on future cruises and make up for lost time. We'll get you some extra shrimp and redo the wine party, etc.

Someone aboard will surely take pix for you of our get-together and we'll have a toast for good ole verrandah man for sure. Although this is our 1st Disney cruise, we are already planning to rebook for 2005 or sooner if possible. Maybe we'll be on same one, you never know.

Don't feel too bad, we PROMISE (w/fingers crossed) not to have any fun without you. tee hee, sorry but I just had to laugh.

Oh, Andy. Your mom sounds like a saint . . and you ARE a good son. Maybe there's just a little more pixie dust out there . . . know that you'll be with us in spirit if not in person. And, you're the "only" honourary cruiser we have.

Now, I must go re-read all of my Customs information to see what I can and cannot carry across the border that might be kind of fun as an truly Canadian appetizer-type finger-food thing that will also make it through Disney security. Nothing will replace rae's craving for shrimp, and I also can't imagine that there's a wine out there that brings out the best in pemmican -- also known as buffalo jerky!

Smoked wild Coho salmon, perhaps??

I am getting so PUMPED!! And even the normally laid back "whatever you say, dear" DH is showing a grin!

Hazel and I were just joking about this at dinner time, I told her I was going to have to get a shrimp costume, get my picture taken in it, and send the photo to the ship for the Monday Wine Tasting Party!!! What a hoot that would be!!!
