May 3, 2003 - Magic Eastern Cruisers

Our room will be 8030.

Corinna is absolutely fine with the wine-tasting (would have been more than my life is worth not to have checked with her!!). Although she drinks very little - we both love exploring new wines and wine regions.

What time would everyone prefer? As you say we can also confirm the time at the Promenade meeting on Saturday.

Of course if some would be more comfortable holding it elsewhere - that is absolutely fine. It will be great fun wherever!!

Hey guy- listen- if your local cable does not carry the Travel Channel then let me know. Send me a private e-mail with your snail mail address. I would be happy to share my copy with you. I bet it is going to be wonderful and will surely add to the excitement and anticipation, especially for the DD! I promise I won't send you any wierd mail. Well, maybe a few dried up shrimp shells.....lol

I just sent you a PM!!!

Matthew and Corrina are in the Roy Disney Suite (8030), folks. There will be enough room for everyone there. I agree thought that there should be a start/stop time just so we don't overstay our gracious welcome.

Is anyone planning to be on the Internet for this cruise?
I'm not, but was just curious!!

Rae

Hi.
Thank you for the wine tasting invitation. Barbara (Makaroni5) and I, Heidi, would love to join you. We are not wine connoiseur's but like to try different varieties!!! We will search for a locally made wine (Connecticut) to share.
Thanks again and see you there....did we decide on a time?

We would love to join ya'll on Monday! Thanks so much for the invite, Matthew and Corrina! I will bring some wine from a local winery. They are famous for their muscadine and blueberry wines. Yes...believe it or not...Louisiana has a licensed winery!

It will be myself and my four other friends, who are from Texas. A couple of those girls are really into this type of thing! They love to try different varieties of wines. I have just recently acquired a taste for "some" wines. Still can't go the dry kind! (emmak...by no means could I be called a connoiseur either!)

Can't wait to meet ya'll!:bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

PS Anyone know a good way to transport the wine on the way down? (Via airplane)

My wife and I and our 2 children Joseph (5) and Alicia (3) will be on the May 3rd Magic too. It's too funny that we found this forum just today; only 2 weeks before our trip! I usually go to Cruise Critic but I guess for Disney Cruises there is only one web sight to go to and I JUST found it.

We will be staying 5 nights at the Hilton Downtown Disney and renting a car. Avis has a drop off right at the Raddison Pt. Canaveral (Closest resort to the ship) rental location code PE3.

We have booked St Maarten Stingray/Dolphin Excursion and my wife wanted to take the 3 yr old to the Butterfly farm.

On St Thomas we are going to put our lifes in Mr Wild Toads hands and attempt at driving a Jeep (I've never drove on the left side of the street before). We want to take the Ferry to St. Johns for the day... Any suggestions?

We booked the beach package for Castaway Cay too. See you on board.

James and Claudia Martin (Ricky and Lucy)

"............ over stay our welcome.........."

You mean they are in the "ROY" suite and we are not all invited to spend the night?????????????? WELL!

:jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester:

Now I am really excited!!! BOY! WHAT A CRUISE!!!! Little ole' southern girl sippin' wine in the "Roy" suite!!

I did get a chance to look at one of the "15 trip matrixes" that DH has made up (Jeanne434...... you and DH should really hit it off!!) and around 1:30 or 2:00 on monday would be a good time...... That would give everyone time to get back from Palo brunch....... And there is the Castaway Club reception that afternoon at 5(?) How does that sound???

I also have a suggestion for the format...... as it looks like we are quite the party group;) ..... One of the last tastings I was at just had all the bottles opened and sitting out for people to try at their leisure........ Worked really well, as people who do not like one shade or the other did not need to wait through a whole catagory....... ;) And everyone got a few more sips of things they really liked;) ;) Each bottle sat on a card that said who brought it and where it was from. I really enjoyed this informal format as it allowed for much more mixing and mingeling........ What do you think?

One more ?????? Yall don't plan to spit do you???? We don't spit out perfectly good wine in TX!! ;) :jester: :jester:
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

Getting really excited and getting no housework done.........

Barbara

WDWFAN - Re: your wine bottle packing, I always put my bottles between my clothes in suitcase, maybe wrapped inside a sweatshirt or towel or any item of your clothing. Also, you can use some bubble wrap and put inside clothing of suitcase, that always works well for me. Never had a problem with it. Good Luck and hope to see you there.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc - Emmak and I are so excited too about the wine party AND in the Roy E. Disney Suite, what a TREAT! Thank you so much for the invite to your suite, very generous of you to allow us to bombard your place even for a short while. What a way to start our cruise, two gatherings with our new "friends". We are psyched. See you Saturday right after muster.

Re: lime green Mickey tags. I cut mine out around the Mickey and tried the double-sided tape but it was too sticky and left a tacky area on my clothes. I'll look for a tape not so strong or double some scotch tape and use that. Can't wait to meet y'all, 18 more days, hooray!!!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

:) Just a little P.S. to my note up above. You might want to put that wine in a plastic bag or zip-lock before you wrap in between your clothes. Should there be an accident you wouldn't want wine stains all over your cruise clothes. Good Luck with that.:Pinkbounc :bounce::Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Welcome to James and Claudia and children!!

We have a list that I will put you on and our first "meeting" will be after the Mustering at the Promenade Lounge. We look forward to meeting you there!!

Rae

One important thing or some unsuspecting group in the Roy suite is going to wonder what on earth is going on!! We are indeed fortunate enough to be in 8030 - but this is the WALT suite - not the ROY suite. Don't go to the wrong room!

Barbara - I think your suggestion of 1:30 to 2:00 is excellent. Does everyone else agree? I also think your suggested informal format sounds perfect. Other brilliant suggestions also welcome!!

Rae - I don't think Andy (verandah man) would ever forgive us if we didn't get on the internet at some point...

Makaroni5 - Thanks for the info on packing the wine! I assume this is in the suitcase that you check? Not the one that you carry on?

Matthew and Corinna -- you are being so generous to a group of people you don't even know. Thank you so much! Are you starting to feel like you're living the proverb of 'strangers are only friends you haven't met yet'?!

And at the risk of sounding terribly corny, this is probably just the sort of definition of EPCOT Walt might have had in mind -- to provide a place where an Extremely Pleasant Community Of Travellers could go to have fun together. ;) :p

Monday from 1:30 to 2:00 sounds great, and so does the suggested format. Now I'll have to go hunting for some nice BC wines -- maybe even an ice wine, which one doesn't find everyday!

Just 18 more days!

:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Sorry - I thought 1:30 to 2:00 was the start time! We're not going to get through this in half an hour are we!!! Shall we say start at 1:30?

EPCOT - I have always wanted to go there. But I was told it stands for Every Person Comes Out Tired...:D

Meeting new friends and see the Walt suite:Pinkbounc

Should some of us order cheese trays from room service and bring with us?

Ohhh,at least I had the number right!!!!!!!

Thanks, Matthew!

Yes, Auntie Bon, cheese and crackers would be wonderful. I am going to bring in some of the Vermont Cabot cheese since I don't know good wine from Boone's Farm!!! But I do know my cheeses!!!!!

And for the sake of the innocent, I will not have any shrimp ordered -

Rae
