May 3, 2003 - Magic Eastern Cruisers

So sorry to hear about Annie, will be sending some PD your way for Annie, and prayers for you Rae, that you will be feeling better real soon.

I might be sick, but poor little Annie has parvovirus and is currently at the Vet's.

After spending the time and money on her Monday, we found out that she has an owner on Tuesday. So I called him. EXCEPTIONALLY rude person who I shouldn't have given any information out to but did because it was his daughter's pet. Considering he tells me later that they just got it on Friday and it got lost that night....uh huh! Anyway, when Tom tells him about the vet bill, he goes ballistic and wants US to pay him for the dog!
$150.00!!!!!

Tom was very understanding and calm but firm in making the man understand that a witness had seen the dog in the area for a "long while" and the dog was starving when we got her to the vet and 3 lbs underweight for her size. ETC ETC. The guy argued that the dog was only a year old - she's really 6-8 years, and in great health, etc, etc...Tom told him to call the vet and ask for himself about the dog's condition.
The guy started screaming threats then told Tom to "$!%@$%^@^@$%^($%(%&U#($%*@(^*" himself and "keep the $%(@$%*^@)$^*@)%(^*@$%^)%$ dog"

So I went past the house where the man said he lived and it was a real dump, lots of dogs in the fenced yard - all types. Very dirty and very nasty looking place and animals. Glad Tom spoke to him and we ended up with Annie.

Anyway, Annie was very sick yesterday. Today our vet says she has parvovirus - which is deadly. He is treating her but says that at her age (6-8 years old) and very poor health condition, she has a slim chance to make it. But at least she has a chance and we are willing to take that chance to save her.
After all, she didn't come into our lives for no reason. Vet says she had to get it from living in those unsanitary conditions and having NO current vaccinations and he will take action regarding the other dogs this lowlife has.

Anyway, our indoor cat (Mr. Bumpy) and our indoor or outside on a chain dog (Kira) will be fine since I get them every vaccination available and we have a very clean home and yard.

Anyway, during all this fiasco with the lowlife, my Mom's car is parked in front of my house and ends up with a flat tire. Now doesn't that sound coincidental?! But our mechanic says it was a screw not a deliberate puncture - so that made us feel better!!!

Seems like this week has been enough to last me for a very long time.

Going to bed real soon with my second favorite man (Stuart Woods) - I'm reading his book "Deep Lie" right now and I think I need some prayer time also!!!

Love to you all!!!
And no more excitement on my end til we cruise, okay?!!!!!

Rae

Kinda late booking, but we're signed up! Parents Craig & Mindy, DD's Alison, 10 who will be loooking for peers, and Annie, 2 (no relation to the dog of the same name mentioned elsewhere in this thread) who will be looking for food mainly, I guess. We're first time cruisers so we're studying hard and learning a lot. Any FCC families on board? (If you are, you'll know what that stands for.)

CMAASFAMILY

:( Rae, so sorry about Annie and do hope the other dogs are removed from their present environment and taken good care of. What a terrible thing for animals to be mistreated that way.

You take care of yourself and get better so you can fully enjoy our upcoming cruise. Kisses to Annie (yes we do kiss our dogs) and get well. Can you believe 22 more days! :)

Hi!
Welcome aboard!!! I will put you on the list and you are welcome to join us after the Mustering (that's the life preserver and safety drill we have every cruise that is mandatory at 4PM).

We will be on the Promenade Lounge - same deck as when you boarded the ship (next to Lumiere's Restaurant). We will just be having a very quick gettogether since we set sail at 5PM and everyone wants to be on deck to hear the horn sound "When You Wish Upon a Star" and watch the port crew wave at us with those huge white Mickey hands! It's a great party on deck and very enjoyable!

Especially if the Coast Guard helicopter buzzes us! Always a lot of fun with them!!!

If you wouldn't mind telling us where you are from and if you have early/late dining - or anything else you'd like to share, I'll put it on the list.

By the way, I'm feeling better but have insomnia due to medication now - AGGGGGHHHH!

Plan to go see our "Annie" tomorrow and will update you on her condition.

Tom found out more about the "previous owner" -he's an ex convict (drugs and child molestation) - ohhhhh!!!! I think they need to add Animal Abuse to that list now!

Rae

CMAASFamily,
Looks this the DD10s will be able to start their own club this cruise! My daughter, Chelsea, will be on her third DCL cruise and there is Amanda, who Chelsea is meeting through the boards... The girls are trying to e-mail each other........ Feell free to tell Alison to join right in! Chelsea will be thrilled to have another partner in crime... OOPS!! I ment playmate... HAHAHAHA
We will also be at the Radisson the fri. before the cruise... If you are there we will look for you.......

Rae,
Now I am sick....... you don't think........ that's not what they mean by "computer virus?" is it????????
:jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester:

Hey, I have an idea for your "friend"....... Why not just feed HIM to the dogs!?!?! But.......... then it might make the little angels sick....... oh well...

I do have a question... What is the Mickey paint chip thing? Do I need to go get them?

OK, yall want to hear cute kid story??? Was having DD4 try on dress shoes to make sure they still fit (like that will mean anything in 3 weeks....) and she asked where we were going.... "On the cruise in a few weeks"..... So now guess who wears those shoes every where?? And announces with each wearing that she is ready for the cruise! Ended up at the park yesterday in Razorback cheerleading uniform and ... YEP.... Black dress shoes!! They MAY still fit her by cruise time, but I am afraid of how they will look... Look for us at the port... I'll have the DD4 in black dress shoes and shorts.. HA HA HA
SEE you SOON!
Barbara

Well it's friday- and just over three weeks to go till we sail! AND....since it is Friday AND since Friday is cruise chat night how about it guys?? Let's meet in the chat room/ I'll be there- probably about 8 PM or so- hope to see you all there! If you go to the first page of the Disney Cruise forum there is a link for the Friday Night Cruise Chat Room. I was there last friday and it was a friendly group. But alas....no may 3rd folks....:(
And in case anyone hasn't noticed...I still haven't got a dang countdown clock!

Annie Update!

She's holding her own. White cells are very low but she's hanging in there. We visited her twice today. I made sure my other dog (Kira) and cat (Mr. Bumpy) had their microchips inserted today - just to be safe. I think that's an excellent idea for all pet owners.
Wish I had had it done before this but at least now it is accomplished!!!!

I'm feeling better, by the way. It was a beautiful sunny day and with only 3 weeks left.....Mom is still dieting!

Rae

So, I guess I should add we're kinda new at message boards too.

Rae, to answer your questions: we have late seating although we're on a waiting list for early (A 2yo and late dining doesn't sound like a winning situation; more like a whinning situation. Actually, I think it'll work either way.) We're in Alpharetta - north suburb of Atlanta, although we're fairly recent California transplants.

Keith and Co., yes I'm sure the DD10's will find each other in no time. If you can get email figured out let us know and we'll hook them up.

cmaasfamily

CONGRATS JEANNE! Glad to see your clock is finally working. It's fun to see it counting down isn't it. It won't be long now til we are on the high seas where "It's HOT, HOT HOT".
Until then remember, "We believe in Magic!:) :Pinkbounc :bounce::Pinkbounc :bounce: :)

Three weeks from today you will be sailing away into happiness!

I wish I could be with you, but I will in spirit.

I do like the idea of private wine tasting parties, too.

Have a great time

My sister Jeanne434 read Mickey's Magical Guide and in there it says something about packing your formal outfit in your carry on because some people will have their formal dinner the first night on board. Is that true?

How are you supposed to pack a formal dress in such a small bag?

We're in for the wine tasting!

Bet you didn't know that we make wine in England! The industry is growing significantly - although to be honest it's a bit of an acquired taste...

MJBarnard,
Yea!! And if your wine is as strong as your beers are we in for a "Jolly old time!"

Good Luck beating Rae to the shrimp, I think she has a direct line, I think she has paid the kitchen staff off, no shrimp is served until Rae is "FIRST" in line!!! LOL!!!

Thursday evening I received a PM from a DIS'er telling me she and her parents had just had lunch at Dixie Crossroads and had my broiled "Rock Shrimp" and my "Cornfritters" talk about rubbing it in!!!

I still wish you a MAGICal cruise, just return the favor when I leave in August and you are home watching me sailaway!!!
