May 29, 2004---Who is with us?

WYODISCRUISE..............

Welcome to the thread!

Before you enter too far......we need to know how you feel on this "shoe issue".:hyper:

I personally, feel that a woman needs at least 1 pair of shoes for every different outfit......and SOME outfits may require more that 1, just in case.::yes::
Well.................?

:teacher: who is just killing time until Thursday :bored:

Status: Just returned from dinner at my mother-in-laws. My wife borrowed a very large suitcase from her, and I do mean large. I remember that at one point in my life I could pack every item of clothing I needed to live in a single olive drab duffle bag. Keep in mind that it is only the two of us on this cruise. The arrival of the large luggage means:

a. 3.5 outfits per day
b. every item of Tanzanite in St. Marten is coming home with us.

Why am I suddenly hoping she does bring lots of shoes?!

Looks like I'll get to spend some time in Diversions watching the Stanley Cup finals. I will miss the ESPN Skybox.

We are in the home stretch!!!!!

Disdmbnut, I sent you a PM.

Before the shoe discussion began, I was almost ready (though I was secretly kicking and screaming w/resistance) to agree to cut back the amount of shoes that DD and I HAVE to bring. (DH goes to great lengths to pack things a certain way, and then loads and carries most of them.) Now, after reading the follow-up posts, I'm back to where I started. I'm so relieved that all of you ladies agree about the shoes. One can never have too many, and sometimes we need two pairs for one outfit! The way I can usually get my way in situtations such as these w/out an argument, is to bribe DH w/a foot and ankle massage. But I'm going to be paying for this for a while!

Also, I'm already sad at the thought what's going to happen when the cruise is over. (Don't even go there right now, I tell myself!) I mean, these boards have been half the fun. We should still keep in touch via this thread right?::yes::

Maybe some of us will book the same itinerary for 2005? (We're hoping to do Thanksgiving, as there's two stops at CC. The west coast is too much $$ IMHO, for an itinerary in which the ports are too hot (so I've heard.)

Just found this discussion forum last evening.

We're on board DW, DD, DS (8) and DD (6) with DGM (grandmother) and DGF (grandfather)
Sounds like a great group, great fun and a great cruise.

We will be at the Radsson Friday with late dinner on the cruise.

Looking forward to the Disney high seas!

Welcome wyodiscruise! If you'd like to have your info included in our spreadsheet, please let me know. Here's a link to the spreadsheet (in html format) --> http://www.geocities.com/p_bunce/cruise_files/whoswho.html

I think Lewis would like to know what date did you get your docs? ;)

Gooooooo BOLTS!!!!!! I will have to convince DW that the bartender in Diversions makes the best drinks!!! If Tampa sweeps than we only have to worry about Sat8pm and Mon 8pm.

Pricilla....You and Fran can meet in Diversions at 8 pm on Sat and discuss the end. She already said yesterday that it might as well be over already. We can have a :grouphug: between the 1st and 2nd period.

Brenbug...I like the way you think......I am looking at this shoe issue in a whole new light.

Lewis...I have to back you up on the drinks issue. According to Pauls spreadsheet there are 3 at May 6. If Tampa sweeps then everyone meet me in diversions and I will buy the drinks.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Dave

Wyodiscruise, welcome!

Glad you're joining us!

Have you and your family cruised before?

These boards are wonderful. And there are MANY kids on this cruise, quite a few the same age range as yours!:D

The spreadsheet Paul created is most helpful too!::yes::

Wyodiscruise,

Welcome to our thread and glad to have you aboard.

I appreciate the support Dave and I will definately be rooting for Tampa Bay. When I awoke this morning, I told Wendy, just think, this time next Sunday, we will be waking up on the magic.:teeth:

Our pool hit 85 degrees on Saturday. Trying to get as much sun as possible before we hit the Carribean.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Go Tampa. Go Tampa. Go Tampa.

This is the first cruise for our family and we are all VERY excited!

We went out and bought more shoes today and will likely need a suitcase just for the shoes!

We were thinking of finding blackbeard's and bluebeard's castles pirate: at St Thomas. Anyone been there?

We're parasailing at 11:30 at Castaway.

The weekend is over! Getting into "crunch time" at our house.

XLT started packing. We should be good to go by Thursday!:hyper:

This is going to be a VERY busy week here. DD's gymnastics practice alone, is enought to keep us gone three nights a week.

Happy Monday to us all...............and just think, next Monday, you'll be AT SEA!
Fran

Wendy and I started packing last night. It seems like so much stuff, but 4 people for 7 nights need alot of stuff. Between beach and formal, nice and casual clothes, it can be alittle overwhelming.

But enough about me, is everyone else as overwhelmed as we are?? At least we are over halfway packed.

Back at ya!

Need to know if you want Atlanta so I can send it with flhmom

ps...Dave and Fran..I am so excited for you I started to cry this morning!!

"Crunch time" is right! We managed to get a start on packing...or at least figuring out what we are going to pack. Now it's wash and iron for a bunch of stuff.

We had the final check off for May family activities this past Saturday, so now it's work, packing and picking up last minute stuff for the next 3 days! (We also have some of Thursday, if needed, since we don't leave till 6pm.)

Let's see what have we missed over the last few days...
Shoes: I'm just resigned to the fact that we bring what we bring. Linda and the girls aren't too bad with shoes (and I usually have a few pairs too.)

wyodiscruise:Here's a layout of the dining rotations/shows/dress for our cruise. We found this very helpful in planning. http://www.geocities.com/p_bunce/cruise_files/eastern_rotation_new.jpg

Hockey: Go Rangers!...oh wait, that was 10 years ago! Good luck to your Lightning, I'd love to see a relatively new team win Lord Stanley's cup!

Dis Meet: If you haven't looked, I've added the dis meet time and place(s) to the spreadsheets:
HTML Vers:http://www.geocities.com/p_bunce/cruise_files/whoswho.html
Excel Vers:http://www.geocities.com/p_bunce/cruise_files/disers529magic.xls
(If you want any info added, just let me know.)

I guess that's all for now.
Paul

:chat: I just got home from S.C. last night and have been gone for 5 days so I had to catch up on the latest on the board. Why is there so much discussion about shoes? I trained my daughter (tchrmom) well and she loves shoes. I had originally planned to take one VERY large suitecase but discovered there wasn't enough room for my shoes so I am taking a separate suitcase for them alone. I suspect my granddaughter will add a few pairs to it too. I have always wished I had enough $ to have a pair of shoes for each outfit---well I almost have for this cruise. Each time I speak to Fran, I tell her to tell Dave I restrained myself and didn't buy any new sandals that day! He just shakes his head at us. Kelly is in turn being trained well regarding shoes too. I suspect she will have more than I do going on this cruise.
I can hardly wait for Sat. to get here. Actually I am going to Tampa Thurs. and will drive over with Fran, Dave and the kids Fri. Looking forward to meeting you all. Anne

I'm afraid the ship is going to sink because of all the added weight of these shoes. (shoe)Tie-tanic!!

I propose all men go barefoot for the week to compensate for the additional weight :) For formal night just paint your toenails black in lieu of black, shiny shoes!

I everyone, we have been so busy packing and getting last minute stuff. I think we are pretty much packed. DH & DD packed last night (with my supervision of course) Since our temp averages about 55-60 during this time of the year, we will not be needed shorts or t-shirts over the next few days. In fact they are predicting rain starting tuesday night.
At last count our shoe count is 3(DD), 3(DH) and I have 5. Now I have to figure out were to put the wine.

Does anybody know if you can were sandals at dinner. I hope so or my shoe count may rise.

Bernetta
:jester: :earsgirl: princess:

I don't think people on the ship pay as much attention to footwear as we do in this thread! :)

Many people wear sandals at dinner, myself included. I think last time the majority of my group was in sandals most nights. It's just more comfortable!

Now, if your sandals, accessories, and clothing don't match, people may start to stare! Just kidding!!! (or not???) :p

and packing and packing and packing....( Dave looks for the phone # to the local U-Haul dealer).
The bomb has gone off and we have "stuff" everywhere. I did manage to get one suitcase filled (my stuff of course) You would think that after 2 cruises we would figure this out. DW tries to tell me its because I am a better packer that I get to do all the packing. How dumb does she think I am???? Hope everyone is doing better than we are. Will check in on Tuesday.

Dave

ps...Dave and Fran..I am so excited for you I started to cry this morning!! [/B][/QUOTE]

I don't get "teary eyed" until I cross over into the ship, and I hear:"Disney Cruiseline welcomes The Huseman family from Tampa, Florida" and I see Capt. Mickey waving from the top balcony.::yes::

Happy Tuesday fellow cruisers!
Fran

Happy Tuesday! Only 2 more work days (including today)!

Hey Dave, I just noticed you're only 6 posts away from "Dis Veteran" status. Maybe you should stop packing and post a few more times ;)

Paul

I envy those of you leaving on Thursday!!! We're not leaving until Friday, and we're both leaving straight from work to go to the airport! I still need to work on packing and consolidating what I'm bringing. I have everything set out - it just needs to be ironed and packed. I have my work cut out for me this week! This time next week I'll be getting ready to go to the beach - what a wonderful thought! I can't wait!!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
