MAY 28th Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will Officially OPEN! Fast Passes are also open!

What am I doing wrong. I have refreshed a lot. Still showing no mine train. Any suggestionss
Thanks
Amy

FP+ booked for 5/28! :dance3: Definitely use the website, not the app! :thumbsup2

How disappointing to guests that they are approaching this so differently than they did the original New Fantasyland opening (with the dedication and media event happening weeks in advance of the official opening).

I suspect they took this approach to prevent individuals from stealing their media thunder and to have a bit more 'control' over initial reviews of the product.

FP booked for 6/27 and 7/2. Exciting to know it will be open for sure during our trip.

Booked our FP+ for SDMT on May 28, our first day at MK. Didn't realize it was the first official opening day for SDMT. Something tells me that MK will no longer be the recommended park on the 28th.

I couldn't be more ecstatic - was able to book one for 28th and 30th. SO happy. Feel so fortunate to have FP+'s for this and Anna & Elsa!

Thanks for the date - the May 2nd media day announced months ago followed by 4 more weeks of waiting but not announced until today? Disney needs to fire everyone in its PR department who thought that was a good idea.

My take on this is that it was a way (and probably a necessary way) to deal with the first distribution of FP+ for the ride.

Essentially, they are announcing today that you can start making FP+ reservations for the mine train and that those FPs will first be available on May 28. Between now and then, the ride will be standby only, and may not always be operating. That may help spread out the crush that might occur otherwise.

I have said before that the visibility of the mine train in a prominent location makes it impossible to do the same kind of clandestine soft openings that they did for things like Soarin and TSMM.

I think what they are doing makes perfect sense.

Thoughts on the likelihood there will be soft opening before May 28?
We will be there the third week of May and staying on property.

Completely agree. :thumbsup2

I"m surprised they aren't opening it for memorial day weekend and the 24-hour event. Not a fun day if intermittent soft opening is going on. Lots of checking back I imagine.

Well count me in the frustrated group over this. We leave the 26th. I guess we can hope for a soft opening. Do they do FP+ for soft openings or is that just stand by?

Do they usually do a sneak peek for AP holders (which we are)? If so how does that work? What about my 7 year niece coming along who does not have an AP?

Argh so annoyed.

I think there is a 100% chance that there will be soft openings before May 28, and they may be pretty frequent as long as the ride doesn't have technical problems. This is a way to test the ride for a month to have to deal with FPs.

Definitely. We have an 0800 at Crystal Palace, will scoot to the SDMT for our fast pass+, spend a little time to use up our remaining passes then we're on to the next park before it gets beyond mental. :dance3:

Thanks. I'm back off the ledge ... for now.

How would a soft opening work? Would it be open all day on particular days or a few hours here and there?

Typically here and there with increasing frequency as you approach the official opening. Using my personal experience with Enchanted Tales with Belle as an example, they were offering soft opening opportunities to select crowds upon their exit from Mickey's Philharmagic.
