May 28, 2005 Mexican Riviera

As far as I know the Friday before (5/27) gathering :chat: 3pm Grand Californian is still on. We plan to be there, green hats and all.

And I'm not aware of any planned Scoops attendance reduction. I have a granddaughter, which I'm considering my God given valid ticket to get through the door, regardless. If there is a requirement to have a kid, just tell everyone you're being accompanied by your inner child.

I won't be at Disneyland that day :sad2: but I strongly recommend riding the rides first. In my opinion, the first hour that they open and the last hour before they close are the best times to be at Disneyland. The lines are usually super short and in one hour you can go on lots of rides! After about an hour, the lines get longer and that is a great time to go have breakfast. I find that I forget about hunger if I'm walking onto rides!
JensBabySky... While we do love all the rides at Disneyland, the ride we love the most is the "shopping" ride. We go there so often, that when we take kids with us, we only do a couple of "kid" rides as they don't enjoy waiting in lines. Then we do the shopping ride, the eatting ride, and the popcorn ride, and the second to last is the balloon buying ride. The last ride we do is our LEAST favorite... the ride home. :guilty: :( :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad2:

We can almost do the document dance. TA says that she will have the docs on Monday and will turn them right around to us so we should have them some time next week. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Susie - I'd love to get together to meet everyone for sure but we were hoping to get the younger kids together to meet early like 2:30 PM. Maybe we can meet the rest of the people a little later that same day?? If 90 people meet at Scoops which will accomodate no where near that many people, there will be no way to even introduce the young kids let alone get them to talk a bit and get familiar with each other.

Maybe we should just move the kids meet to a different place so it doesn't interrupt everyone who wants to be at Scoops?? We would be up for 2:00 PM at the Mickey Pool for the kids meet?

Chris, Margaret, Carrie? What do you guys think??

Thanks!

We're looking forward to meeting everyone. Just tell us when and where. I know the first things my girls will want to do is hit the pool. (I don't blame them). The Pool or Scoops is fine.

For those of you who have been on this ship before, I'll defer to you... :worship:

We would be happy to meet at the Mickey Pool at 2 or 2:30 with the younger kids. That way we can work up an appetite and head over to Scoops for a larger DIS meet at 3 pm.

Mattie and Sammy really want to get in that pool. Since crowded pools really stress me out, I figure immediately after boarding will be one of the few times we'll be able to enjoy the Mickey Pool.

Challada - are we still on for the pre-cruise meet on the 27th at the Grand Californian?

Hey, I just realized that I have made it to Mouseketeer. :Pinkbounc :cool1:
How do you become a Mouseketeer?

Carrie, Sue and Chris- We are driving in and planning on arriving at port around 11-1130am. Hope to board, grab lunch at the buffet, then check out our room if ready, then hit the pool. I can't stand crowded pools either and heard this would be a good time to use it. I think 2pm at the Mickey pool sounds great for us with the kids. Grace will love that and can't wait to meet all the other girls (and boys too ;) ). That should leave plenty of time for meeting each other, playing in the pool, exchanging postcards and do the larger Dis meet at 3p at Scoops (if that's where/when it ends up being) and still have time to go back to the cabin for our lifejackets and make the 4pm drill. :cool1:

I am all for kids at the pool at 2 pm since we were already planning on being in the pool then anyway...I've heard pool is small and crowded so I already told my kids the only time they probably get to swim in it is when we get on board the first day! That way we can still do the big DIS meet at Scoops at 3pm...SUSIE WE ARE NOT KICKING OUT ADULTS! I am all for an additional DIS meet after our original one...let's play it by ear (ha ha). We HAVE to do the original 3 pm Scoops meet so I can get everyone's room numbers on the doortag!

BTW-Sandy, you earn the labels, but in reality, you can go to your CPuser and specify what you want it to say anyway!

I too think we should still all meet as originally planned. Why is everyone getting Scoops-Anxiety?:scared1: :crazy2: :scared: :faint:  :hyper: :confused3 :earseek: Kicking out people w/o kids and everything! Can't we ALL just get along? :grouphug:

Carrie, I feel the same way!!!

I usually don't check the boards except at lunch, but I came home and my husband told me that I needed to sign on to the DIS boards because I had caused quite a stir. I wasn't upset at all about the Scoops thing. I should have put a few smiley faces ;) in that post I guess. Anyway, I'll go along with whatever everyone decides. I was just hoping to meet a few people that afternoon. It doesn't matter whether it's at Scoops or somewhere else.

So now the really funny thing. I didn't know that DH had been signing on and reviewing my posts. I didn't even know that he knew where to find this group. :rotfl2: I guess he was preparing himself for everything that I told you about him. So say "Hi Curt" for the next time he signs on.

Carrie,

If I remember correctly and from looking at the map, I think Scoops and the Mickey Pool are essentially the same location. That's why I was suggesting moving the adults farther down the deck. I think that Suesings has a really valid point about it just being too crowded right there for everyone.

"Magic Journeys" it was indeed, played for a while at Fantasyland @ WDW after leaving JII.

After much public outcry regarding the renovation of JII and its subsequent removal of all things (but one) of Figment and Dreamfinder, Disney re-renovated, and Figgie made a grand return. Love that guy!

JII brought a Python in for the interim theme-ing, Eric Idle I believe, but even he couldn't replace that adorable purple dragon.

Disney has many, many 'outer' characters that still have a loyal following. Example? Fuzzball, from "Captain Eo." Just because these creatures aren't mainstream doesn't make them any less Disney, right?

Hi all! I lurk your boards just to learn about what you are to soon experience! I enjoy learning from your plans of things we might do. :listen:

However, being an August cruiser, I am dreadfully hanging on to learn more about the excursions. So, I ask, would anyone be willing to mail me an extra excursion book so I can begin to feed my obsessive compulsion? I would gladly reimburse the postage! :teeth:

I appreciate your help!!!!! :wave2:

Thanks.....I saw this, but thought maybe the excursion book had more information, but maybe not. Thanks for the help!!!!
