May 28, 2005 Mexican Riviera

Hey guys...the cheapskate and roaming gnome in me have found a website they BOTH like! Looks like this place specializes in quality travel items such as clothes that don't wrinkle and luggage and locks and stuff. Now, here's the good news...there's a "sale" section! www.travelsmith.com On the left side, go down to "overstocks" then in that section, you can go down to "under $25"...I found 8 pages of stuff to buy! Lots of clothing in the sale section so if folks are looking for cruisewear...this would be great! (I'm debating some of the dresses that were originally $69 and are now around $15). Just had to pass this along to my friends...maybe we should have a night to all wear the same dress LOL!

Sue and Chris, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who can't stand crowded pools.

Susie, that's funny about your husband checking this thread. Hi Curt!!! I would be totally shocked to find out that my DH checked this thread. He thinks I'm a little bit nuts to check this board 2 or 3 times a day. This will be our first Disney Cruise so I have no idea how large or busy any of these areas are. I just can't wait to see in person. :)

jfis1020, I would be happy to send you an extra excursion book. No need to reimburse me for the postage. I suspect it will be a regular stamp or maybe 60 cents. There really isn't much more in it than on the website that EnchantedPlayroom posted. I think there were some additional photos though and it's fun to read in bed. I could also send you the little brochure they sent advertising gift packages, if you'd like. Just PM me with your address and I'll get it out to you.

carriep1657 - Susie's spouse here. Thanks for the welcome! I'm a computer dweeb in the first place, so Susie wasn't completely surprised to find that I had located the web site and read almost all the posts (migod, you people are WAY too focused on Disney shtuff!).

I was born in LA about 6 months after Disneyland opened, I suspect I went there before I could remember it. I've been there more times than I can count, but I have to say, I'm not that big of a Disney fan. Nor am I a big fan of cruises. The side trips are more interesting to me.

From what I have read, y'all are pretty strange. I'm looking forward to meeting kindred spirits! See you at the port and then on-board!

Susie - So your husband is checking the boards :rotfl:
My husband would have no idea how to find this board. At least I don't think he could??? He thinks I'm crazy, I think, for researching so much for the cruise. He has no idea how many people we will be meeting :rotfl2: He can be a bit introverted and shy, unlike his social wife!!

I sent you a PM!

I believe we earn our ears by my promise to wear lime green speedos that once fit twenty-five years ago and plying the webmaster with one of my award-winning Beers :) Now girls if you think Kurt, myself and 3G are the only men checking up on this run away train, you might want to get your nose's out of the trivia books and ask us.
The Man

Lime Green Speedo's, eh? - the Excitement of this cruise is just building and building :rotfl2:

Hey, I just learned that we got a Secret Porthole Room (we have a Catagory 10 inside cabin on Deck 5). In looking at pictures I could find of the cabin - the view is VERY obstructed :rotfl: but I am just happy for the light and a little Pixie Dust that was thrown our way! I am also happy to be on Deck 5 given that is where Flounder's Reef and the Oceaneer's Club are located. It will make it easier to run over and see if they have any last minute room in the baby club for Ava if Mark and I decide we'd like to go to a wine tasting or something fun.

So, I think we have some other Champagne Drinkers like myself onboard?? I was thinking about having a little Champagne reception somewhere?? I am a big Vueve Clicquot fan (Costco for around $30 buck). I'm thinking of bringing a couple of bottles with me on board. Anybody up for bringing a bottle of their favorite and having a little Champagne party with me either one afternoon or before dinner one day when the kids are in the club?? Maybe order some cheese and fruit platters from room service? Any takers?

It just so happens that we get a bottle of champagne as part of the Park and Cruise package that we using at the Sheraton. Guess I'll bring it along.

At Disneyland, in Frontierland, the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad sits on the site of what previous attraction?

[I apologize for the lateness...I was out rectifying injustice in the world. practicing future lawyer skills LOL]

Susie I thought we were gonna drink the champagne together at the Hotel :)
If not lets do breakfast before going to ship

This is a definite possibility. But, we can do cocktails also. I was sort of thinking getting together in the lounge for that. I had forgotten about the Champagne until Suesings mentioned it.

I am so excited about seeing the Magic arrive in California, that I'm not sure I'll be that great of company at breakfast. I'll just want to be out there staring at it. I plan to be up bright and early to see what's happening. I suspect there might be a lot of press. On the other hand, sustenance is good and my DH will probably be more interested in food than staring at a ship, even if it is a magical one.

Enchanted & Sandy,

Looking forward to our pre-cruise meet. See you tomorrow by Peter Pan. My DDs and I will be sporting the lovely green baseball caps from Target (I was unable to convince my DH to wear one). The girls will also be wearing lime green shirts. Hopefully, we won't be that hard to spot. :earboy2:

Okay so Jedisan and Gail are game for Champagne. How about we each plan to bring a bottle of our favorite and order a Cheese/fruit platter. If the kids are in the Club we can do it in our tiny room, or we can find another place to do it once we board? I guess we could as Guest Relations??

We have a category 9 room on Deck 2. I don't think it will be any bigger, but it definitely has a porthole and we don't have kids to worry about. I'll just have to pawn Grampa off on The Man for some beer, but that shouldn't be too hard!

Lara,

Brandy, Alyssa, Sandy and DH Joe will be at Peter Pan at 9am all wearing our HAPPY FACEs and Lime Green some where on our person. Sandy will be wearing a BIG Green sun hat... and we will all have our Alien Green Mickey Heads. Looking forward to meeting all of you. :thewave:
